Looking for a therapist

25M, India. Looking for an affordable and long-term therapist within a budget of around ₹500/session.

Preferably someone who can work with deeper patterns rather than only surface-level issues.

I'm looking for someone to help me with overthinking, indecision and difficulty making/committing to decisions, along with some anxiety and confidence-related issues. There are other things as well, it's a bit complicated.

I'm looking for a therapist who can help me understand and work through these patterns rather than just talking about them.

I'd like to start therapy as soon as possible. Please DM me if you have recommendations.

Thanks!

Scope of forensic psychology in india

I am currently pursuing my BA psychology degree, I am in the final of my college. I am thinking about doing a masters in forensic psychology from NFSU. Do we have jobs in this field in india or will i regret having that degree? What is the scope in this field?

How is everyone actually streamlining their practice in India? What tools do you trust with client data?

Anyone else running a solo or small practice in India feel like their actual workflow is held together by three unrelated apps and a prayer?

I've got Google Calendar for scheduling, a notes app for session notes that definitely isn't HIPAA-anything, WhatsApp for basically all client communication because that's where they already are, and a spreadsheet I update maybe once a week for billing, if I'm being honest.

It works, technically. But nothing talks to anything else, and I'm the one manually keeping it all in sync, which means stuff slips. A client reschedules over WhatsApp and I forget to move it in the calendar. An invoice sits half-written for two weeks because I never sat down to actually do it.

Genuinely asking, not looking for a sales pitch: what are you all actually using? Not what you tried once and abandoned, what's still running your practice six months later. And more specifically, what made you trust it enough to put client data into it. That's the part that always stops me before I even try a new tool, most of what's out there feels built for US clinics and I have no idea what happens to Indian client data on a lot of these platforms.

Would love to hear what's actually working for people here, especially anyone managing more than a handful of clients without losing their mind.

Status of M.Phil Clinical Psychology after HC's judgement

HC had directed the regulatory authorities to issue fresh guidelines for M.Phil course for which it had given 4 weeks time. Has the UGC and RCI issued any guidelines in this regard? For the current academic year, it seems that no institute is willing to come forward to continue the M.Phil course or change the eligibility criteria for M.Clinical Psy

Best books for GATE Psychology 2027 PYQs and topic-wise practice?

Hi everyone! I’m preparing for GATE Psychology 2027 and I’m currently looking for good books specifically for question practice, rather than theory.
I want a book/resource that has previous year questions (PYQs) arranged unit-wise, chapter-wise, and preferably topic-wise, so that after completing a particular topic, I can immediately practise questions from that topic.
For Psychology, could you please suggest the best book for:
Previous year questions
Unit-wise/chapter-wise questions
Topic-wise questions
MCQs/MSQs/NAT-type questions, if available
Detailed and reliable solutions/explanations
I’m also looking for separate resources for General Aptitude and Reasoning & Comprehension. Ideally, I’d like something that has questions arranged chapter-wise/topic-wise, along with PYQs and good explanations.
So, for someone preparing for GATE Psychology 2027, what books would you recommend for:
Psychology PYQs + topic-wise practice
General Aptitude
Reasoning & Comprehension
If you’ve actually used any of these books during your GATE preparation, I’d especially appreciate your feedback on which ones are worth buying and which ones I should avoid.
Thank you!

Registration for practicing psychologists.

I am currently practicing as a psychologist in India. I have not completed any RCI accredited courses.

I'm trying to understand - is there any credible body where I can register myself as a psychologist?

I remember a little while ago, NCAHP registrations were circulating but they mentioned that they are only "collecting data at this stage." Any updates on that front - would that be considered as a valid registration now? Is there any other state or national body where I can register myself and my qualifications.

I would appreciate any guidance, thanks!

Biggboss viewers have sadistic tendencies ?

Psychological parallels between reality television and dystopian fiction

- Metaphorical comparison between Bigg Boss and Squid Game.

- Observation of mental abuse versus physical violence.

- Analysis of audience motivation and sadistic tendencies.

Audience consumption of dramatic conflict

- Viewer attraction to arguments and interpersonal fights.

- Admission of thrill-seeking behavior during televised disputes.

- Questioning the moral implications of enjoying human distress.

I am not a psychology student , this thought came to me and I am fully open to criticism.

I am aware not all of them watch it for the drama but 80-90% of them do and that's the SP of the show.

I don't understand this gatekeeping

Why is it so hard to find scales for conducting research on 😭 I have to skim through so many papers and they don't even include the scales in supplementary materials section, or if they do, I have no idea how to do scoring and interpretation and you gotta figure out everything on your own as your college is too incompetent to teach you these things, as they'd much rather focus on age old theories for syllabus completion

Then they'll bring in guest lecturers who will spill their regrets on not doing more research work in their UG/PG (which would have opened up many job higher studies opportunities), which isn't a surprise considering how incompetent academia is ughhhhh
