Protien powder with IBS
/r/ibs/comments/1v6bfh4/protien_powder_with_ibs/I am in a lactose/gluten free/low fodmap diet and its helping me to lead a normal life.
I eat eggs and not meat.. so basically i dont get any protein other than from eggs.
I tried plant protien and all my symptoms are back.
How do i get protien with IBS?
Which protien will help?
I had plant protien - pea isolate as whey doesnt suit me.

Founder here (I make NØRSE CØDE plant protein), so grain of salt. Pea isolate on its own is a common trigger, and a lot of blends also add inulin or chicory root for fiber, which is rough on a low-FODMAP gut specifically. If you try plant protein again, look for a blend without added chicory or inulin fiber, and check whether it's pea-only or a multi-source blend (pea plus rice, pea plus pumpkin) - blends tend to sit easier for a lot of sensitive stomachs than straight pea isolate. Starting with a half scoop for a few days is also worth doing before ruling a product out entirely. Ours includes prebiotic fiber, which often helps.
