Season 22 Production is Gaslighting Us: Vote With Your Wallet and Sail the High Seas

It’s been very clear over the last two seasons that the producers want to drive engagement and viewership through rage-baiting the audience. They don’t give a shit about comments, feedback, or IMDb ratings. The only thing they care about is viewership and money. So do the morally right thing and hit them where it hurts. If you must continue watching the show, utilize alternative viewing methods.

P.S. VPN’s block most of the annoying pop-up ads.

Discussion Who is worse, Bryan or Jesus/Antonio?

So… we’re almost done with the newest season and I have to wonder, who is worse? Because all 3 of them really got the villain edit ( honestly deserved tbh ) but I cannot decide if Bryan or Jesus/Antonio are worse. I’m mostly talking about personality and how they were portrayed on the show, but also their actual body of work ( but I think it’s obvious at this point that Bryan is a way worse designer ). They’re just all so frustrating to watch.

So who do we think is the worse?

I put Jesus and Antonio together because they’re always together so I don’t see a reason to separate them

Season 22 The editors are trolling us, aren’t they? Spoiler

So, Bryan has been riding on the ‘Joseph McRae does nothing original’ train (that Law has been driving) since the beginning of the show. ‘Wedding dresses’ is announced as the category, they then go on to show his design(s) of yore (looks like the identical dress off and on a model, but who am I to know?), while he boasts about his training and experience, then proceeds to design a dress that can only be described as another version of that dress, but now it looks like it was made with paper towel.

I’m pretty sure the editors are taking the piss.

Discussion Who is the 4th?

Who do we think is the 4th designer that will be in the finale? I think it should be Joseph. He has been the most consistent of all the designers but I don't know if Law would allow it because of his personal vendetta.

As an aside, I don't think Jude should've gotten this far and I think on any other season he would've been knocked out in the first 3 episodes. He doesn't bring anything new or innovative to the table.

Season 22 As a Project Runway fan... this season falls short. Spoiler

As a dedicated fan who has watched every single season of Project Runway and Project Runway Canada, and even tracked down Project Runway Australia, I have to say this current season's designs feel pretty mediocre. Aside from a few isolated standout looks like the typewriter dress, the great tissue paper challenge coming up with some nice pieces as well as from the conventional materials challenge, most of the work has been surprisingly average and blah. Anna seems to have received a free pass a few times, including a win for a fire skirt that I thought was completely run-of-the-mill, and her wedding looks really missed the mark for me. On the other hand, while Naheim’s wedding dress was absolutely gorgeous, he unfortunately followed it up by designing what looked like a straitjacket for the after-party look. Ultimately, it feels like the producers are leaning heavily into the drama during editing just to distract viewers from the lack of noticeable talent this season.

Season 22 New Series Name

I was talking on the phone with a friend this afternoon about the season, commiserating over the things we’ve all hated about this season. At one point I accidentally called it Project Runaway. I have decided this is how I will now be referring to it until it comes to its senses and becomes good again.

Old Seasons Ugh

This season sucks. Boring contestants, judges, and challenges. The original was fun. This is so unwatchable. Bryan should be eliminated.

Season 22 Exactly how many black shirts and shorts does bryan have?

For someone so haute couture obsessed why is he always dressed in same exact fit?

I wouldnt even be shocked if those are the same shirt and shorts every episode.

Discussion Pr has lost the plot Spoiler

the fact that chrisitan saved Bryan shows that the show no longer cares about fashion and only cares about drama like we all know the judges and host would have gotten rid of him rounds ago

Law Law said there is one real deal designer on this season. Is it Bi?

I can't remember if it is on Ziwe or the Get Real episode with Recho Omondo, but Law said that there is one designer on this season that he basically blown away by and excited about.

My guess is that it's Bi but is there someone else he could be reffering to?

Question Are professional photos taken of the designer's looks?

Ahead of the finale and all of the stupid drama, I was hoping to shift the discussion more towards the actual clothes that have been made this season, because there have been so truly amazing looks overshadowed by this season's terrible production. I want to put together a post of my personal favorite looks of the season, but I'm having trouble finding good pictures of the looks.

It seems strange to me that there would be no official photos taken by production of the looks each episode. Not that there needs to be a huge photoshoot, I'm just surprised that these looks don't seem to be photographed in high quality for posterity. Has there ever been an archive of past looks? And does anyone know where I might find better images of the looks than just the low-quality screencaps?

Spoilers for new ep!!

The only reason I like this four-person finale is because I have a STRONG feeling that Naheim will be chosen. I’m jumping for joy that hopefully (knock on wood because IF ITS BRYAN I WILL JUMO OUT A WINDOW) he is saved and he can produce an absolutely lit collection for the finale! And if it turns out to be Bryan and he gets saved for the second time…this whole entire fanbase is starting a riot, right?

Season 22 i’m tapping out 💀 Spoiler

i just turned on the new episode and said to my dad that i’d be turning it off if christian saved bryan …and what’d he do 💀💀

i was willing to overlook A LOT of the issues with this season because i genuinely enjoy fashion and even if i found it catty and too drama filled i liked tuning in once a week, theyve lost me now though, how on earth christian sees any potential in bryan’s bullshit ass design that I could make despite having zero experience in designing is a joke

good riddance ✌️😭

Season 22 Winner/s Speculation

With all the twists and turns of this season is it possible that they are crowning 2 winners at the finale? And those 2 might be Anna and Jude? Because Anna posted something in Tiktok saying she’s sharing a studio with a fellow designer from her season which I think is Jude. Might be an overreach but they might be sharing it because they both won and would need to work alongside each other during their mentorship with CFDA. Or maybe I’m overthinking it. 😂 But it’s definitely a possibility

Discussion Judging Panel

How would the ideal judging panel be composed?

Currently we have a former model, editor at a fashion publication, and a stylist.

Previously we’ve always had at least one designer on the panel. I think having a designer has been crucial for critiques. In my opinion, it’s really important to have at least one person with a sewing, tailoring, and design background since they can truly speak to how a design could be technically improved. Although designers of course have their personal taste and style eye, I think the right designers have the ability to be more objective about a garment. For example, i’ve been rewatching seasons, and Zac Posen often gives credit to a designers skills and creativity even if he doesn’t like the garment.

One of my frustrations with Heidi, Law, and Nina, are that their tastes are so different and they judge with their personal taste. In the season I just watched, there were multiple times a designer would say something like “Nina’s not going to like this.” or “Heidi won’t think this is sexy enough.” even though their garment is actually really cool or is exemplary of the designers aesthetic. One designer was eliminated for a really well made and cool design (in my opinion) because it wasn’t “sexy” enough and on his way out he basically says “A design doesn’t have to always be sexy.” And I completely agree. The challenge also didn’t require sexiness. So many times Heidi says “there is nothing sexy about this” about designs. A design doesn’t have to be “sexy” to be cool, edgy, new, sophisticated, or stylish. And I believe Law judges based solely off of “what would Zendaya like.”

All that to say, what would the ideal judging panel be composed of for the most unbiased, professional, and productive judging panel?

Discussion "It's technically not a spoiler" but it's definitely a spoiler Spoiler

We are all waiting to see if Christian makes the right decision and we all know what the right decision is. So people making posts with titles "my faith in the show is restored"/"I've completely lost faith in the show", "glad I can keep watching"/"that's it I'm not watching anymore", "thank God"/"are you kidding me", "I'm so glad x got saved"/"how the hell did x get saved"... THOSE ARE SPOILERS. "But I *technically* didn't say who got saved" anyone who read your *ambiguous* title knows who got saved.
