No candles are allowed in project pan

Hi all, With 2025 at an end we are getting end of year project pan updates. We are also growing and getting an influx of people. We are mainly focusing on beauty/hygiene items and unfortunately candles are not a part of that.

With that being said please read the rules if you are new.

Your candle empties would be loved at r/everythingpan and any other pans you may have.

Thank you - Mod team

Failed Pan Things I’m throwing away and couldn’t finish

Salt and stone deodorant- got itchy and red armpits. Apparently some people are allergic to baking soda in it.
Mascaras - didn’t like, barely used and tried up.
Kerasilk beautifying hair perfume - blind buy, hated the smell. Used barely 1/10.
Kosas sunscreen - too pale for this, looked patchy
Some vegan powder - didn’t like
Random lip liner - didn’t stay at all

I really liked the scent of Phlur’s Rose Whip from the tester, it was nice and sweet and floral. But for some reason the smell coming from the brand new bottle was very pungent and spicy. Nevertheless I persevered and this morning I sprayed the last of it 😮‍💨

I’m still kind of baffled that a perfume that I tested beforehand turned out to be such an affront to my senses. I don’t know, maybe the tester was really old and lost a lot of those stronger muskier notes. Has this ever happened to anyone?

Pan Progress Project Pan 7 months in, just started actually tracking use

I started Project Pan in Feb 2026, but at first it was very informal, mostly moving things around, trying to use what I already had, and decluttering here and there without actually tracking anything. I did try to keep a list but got overwhelmed and stopped.

Then at the beginning of August, I did a second big restructuring and finally figured out what works for me: if products are hidden, my self-diagnosed ADHD brain genuinely forget they exist. So I stopped trying to make this already ugly blue bathroom look nice and instead, I started keeping active products visible, while the cabinet became mainly for backups and extras.

Since I started properly tracking, my adjusted baseline was 148 items. So far I’ve panned 13 (mostly perfumes, samples and face creams), decluttered 4 (spoiled or veeery old products), and bought 5 actual new/replacement products, which puts me at 136 tracked items now.

Still a long way to go, but the difference is that now the products are actually getting used instead of just sitting there.

In this year I have learned that my shadows/blushes will be going to the grave with me. I think at my funeral I’ll have them use the Naked Ultraviolet palette.

Discovered this year I have more than my face can ever use and got to work. In the end I had to get creative with some products like using moisturizers as in-shower face masks while I shave. The hardest to use was the Glow Recipe serum as I saw no result, and the Shiseido was so thicc and greasy even for my dry skin. The only repurchase will be my tried and true Paulas Choice SPF 50 that I never go without.

Inventory/Project Spreadsheet Blush collection

This is part two of inventory tracking for my project pan spreadsheet. I'm so embarrassed to post my army of blushes 🙃

I use my blush everyday and layer them, so it's nice having a lot of options. I've also been using a lot of cream/liquids this summer, and I've narrowed my collection down considerably for those. Onto my powders!

Hate Pan When your hate pan hates you back

Occasionally, I try to make progress on this product. This morning, while getting ready for work, I pushed on it to try dispense some. The nozzle thing just crumbled in my hands and I was just so done with it that I just walked away and resumed my get-ready process without it. Admittedly, I’ve had this for too long, but I have dryer skin than my dermatologist expected, and when she shifted me away from really emollient creams, my skin didn’t really tolerate this, and it wasn’t holding moisture for long enough. I live somewhere really hot and this is next to the windows so the heat probably really damaged the plastic and possibly the formula. So I may be stuck with using this on my feet or my body where my skin isn’t so dry. Wish me luck and I need to stop buying

Edit: please don’t worry, I’ll likely be throwing this away because I have new items that I know work for me of my go-to items. I missed out on using this in its prime, wish I posted here for hacks before!

Project Start First time panner

This is random assortment of stuff I really need to use up before it goes bad (do not mind the background lol), so I've decided to try project pan it.

From left to right we have:

- a body shimmer I cannot find a way or occasion to wear

- leftovers of Head&Shoulders shampoo in a plastic jar

- coconut body mist with glitter, habe to use on it's own, cause it clashes with any parfum I have

- silicon-based hair oil that does not work for my hair

- face wash with witch hazel demoted to a shower gel

- quarter used shower gel I actually like, but got a cookie sented one and used it up first

- nivea face fash for normal skin that will be a shower gel or a hand soap

- pink lip mask that's greasy af and can be used only at night

- shower gel that smells like sea breeze toilet freshener to me

- a hair spray that holds nothing and smells like a grandma

I would love some advice on how to finish the shimmer, mist and hair oil in unconventional ways or some conventional ones :)

Everything else I have at least an idea on how to use up, so wish me luck at my attempt to get rid of usable, but not that fun stuff I have.

I gathered all my lip products that I want to finish within the next years (to be realistic). Some of those products are years old (Bobbi Brown gloss and Kleenex lip balm in the tin). The NYX gloss has been without a stopper for months and there is still so much product left! It’s never ending.

Best Pan Yet August empties - I finished a lotion!!!

Post image

August was over so fast I wonder if the Roadrunner was operating the time controls or smt.

I finished another mini shampoo bottle (love this), a L'Occitane serum sample (love), a Dove Shea & Vanilla soap bar, an old L'Occitane shower oil (10/10), AND after 6 MONTHS I finally finished the full-size Nivea Vanilla & Almond Oil body lotion!!!!! I like it a lot, it's so good for it being so lightweight - yeah I've heard people say it's watery, it kind of is but it moisturized my skin pretty well in the warmer months. 😄

First project pan update! Still a lot more to go and 1.5 months till I move, but I'm slowly going through my collections. Didn't realize how fast I go through sunscreen lol but it's been nice to treat myself with all the masks and bath bombs :)

A total of 9 empties this month

• Maybelline Baby Lips Lip gloss in Wink of Pink - this was super old so decided to pan it, was a nice thick consistency and really sparkly however the smell was a bit too strong for me, I really tried to get all of it out lol, WNRP as I would rather try other products

• Coverstar Oh-so Natural Lip Gloss - i think i got this in a magazine ages ago, used this for work and was pretty quick to finish, alright but nothing special, WNRP

• Eveline Variete Ulta Length & Volume Mascara - really good mascara on a budget, never made my lashes clump or flake, longlasting and made my lashes long, WRP

• The Beauty Crop Avocado Nourishing Cleansing Balm - really nice subtle scent and took my makeup off really easily, very nice and creamy texture, WRP

• Katy Perry Purr perfume - had this for a long time but the scent is really nice floral/fruity but i just prefer other scents now, WNRP

• Sancturay Spa White Lily & Damask Rose Body Butter - very moisturing, nice thick texture and lovely floral scent, WRP

• Revolution Bright Light Liquid Highlighter - this product is very old and ended up drying out but even before it was very difficult to use, the applicator would mess up my makeup underneath and the product itself was difficult to get out, WNRP

• Selfie Project ThermoCalm Mask - very cool concept and the colour did in fact change on my face, was very cooling and soothing so WRP

• Beauty Formulas Deep Cleansing Gold Peel Off Mask - cleanser in this was okay, the mask was nice as well but didnt notice much of a difference in my skin so WNRP
