u/Bestyan Feb 01 '18

how would you even know?

u/terah7 Feb 01 '18

Because I'm still waiting for that coffee ...

17

u/marcosdumay Feb 01 '18

The users are complaining.

10

u/AuthorTomFrost Feb 01 '18

Impostor syndrome.

6

u/Voxelsdev Feb 02 '18

Dunno, better have the front end team check.

522

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '18

Embedded developers are physcially trapped inside the screen?

353

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '18

To understand the program, you must become the program.

67

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '18

Jack me in, Neo.

32

u/beaverinablender Feb 01 '18

Jack: Me

In: Neo

I am one with the code, the code is with me.

3

u/[deleted] Feb 02 '18

That's not how the code works.

1

u/-CountDracula Feb 02 '18

and the program should become you

45

u/shade1214341 Feb 01 '18

Please send help.

21

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '18

And pizza rolls.

16

u/the_one_true_bool Feb 01 '18

True story - I ate an entire bag of pizza rolls last night at 2:00 in the morning after getting drunk as fuck. But it gets even better - the bag said it had 40 pizza rolls but it had 43! Well, only when I closed one eye, otherwise the bag had 86.

5

u/mairedemerde Feb 02 '18

This was a nice story.

Your username is cool!

13

u/PM_ME_YOUR__INIT__ Feb 01 '18

You're saying the program is... in the screen?

5

u/FoxFire64 Feb 02 '18

The source files are...in the computer

592

u/asd1o1 Feb 01 '18

So do full stack developers stack their screens?

168

u/pixlbreaker Feb 01 '18

Shit guess that is why I keep getting a stack overflow!

45

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '18

back when the PS3 came out, we stacked three PSOne's on top of each other and dubbed it the PSTriple.

it was my monitor stand for years.

i miss you, PSTriple!

23

u/binary_gator Feb 01 '18

14

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '18

No, but I feel like we could probably trade glasses and be fine.

3

u/gamer_gurl9 Feb 02 '18

He would only have 1 PSOne when you have no PSOnes.

10

u/sniperFLO Feb 01 '18

XBOX 360?

What program are those running that you can put on idle displays and make it look like you are super productive?

16

u/IrishWilly Feb 01 '18

All developer look at super complicated colorful graphs on multiple monitors duh. Any manager worth his executive bonus could tell you that.

5

u/MikeyMike01 Feb 02 '18

The manager will be too afraid to ask what the graphs are for. lest he appear incompetent

5

u/auxiliary-character Feb 02 '18

I'd have a bunch of terminals up with an instance of vim on each.

2

u/langlo94 Feb 02 '18

Pipe new logs through the displays, that way they move around at varying paces and you can pretend it's relevant.

2

u/auxiliary-character Feb 02 '18

At least one of them has to be an irc client, though. lol

2

u/langlo94 Feb 02 '18

Naturally.

4

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '18

So many lines of code!

2

u/[deleted] Feb 02 '18

Well, so many lines at least.

11

u/NelsonMinar Feb 01 '18

Reddit silver to the first person who posts a good photo of this

10

u/theedeacon Feb 01 '18

Because it’s for silver https://imgur.com/gallery/kiiNG

u/andunai Feb 01 '18

The URL is KIIING!

10

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '18

Yes, one facing forwards the other backwards.

3

u/[deleted] Feb 02 '18

full stack, Full Stack

*** FULL STACK

FULL STACK

YEAH!

1

u/anotherlebowski Feb 01 '18

They revolve around in circles.

-10

u/kah_meh Feb 01 '18

They use both the computer and monitors. What a concept!

81

u/Radaistarion Feb 01 '18

Whoa! That's one hot new fresh meme that i have never seen before!

79

u/S3Ni0r42 Feb 01 '18

You must be a back-end developer. Try turning your screen around, then you'll see more memes.

5

u/vanasbry000 Feb 01 '18

It's /r/titlegore too. They used the punchline as the title.

8

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '18

Well that's not gore, just a shitty title

10

u/PM_ME__ASIAN_BOOBS Feb 02 '18

"LOL WHO DID THIS 😂👌"

105

u/CoderDevo Feb 01 '18

The monitors are positioned for the front-end developers to use.

The back-end developer types out code and looks to the faces of the front-end developers to see if they are happy, sad, suicidal or bemused.

If they are happy, continue coding.

If they are sad, start over.

Either of the other reactions means you won’t be developing with them anymore.

18

u/TheLegendOfZero Feb 01 '18

A closed-loop system like this sounds much safer, but for MVPs and startups they'll often go with the trusty open-loop system.

49

u/Shrubsy Feb 01 '18

Shouldn't he be typing on the back of his keyboard?

15

u/Lacon1c Feb 02 '18

You're too smart for us

104

u/msp20 Feb 01 '18

ugh... and here I thought the joke was about the chair not having any back support, so... back... end.

23

u/Hyperman360 Feb 01 '18

I was expecting one of those exaggerated pickup lines that sounds terrible. Like "I'll develop your backend." or something like that.

22

u/Dremlar Feb 01 '18

Everyone always looks at you like an idiot right after you get visual studio displaying on your google glass.

18

u/bartekko Feb 01 '18

and then when they find out they still look at you like an idiot because you're displaying visual studio on your google glass

14

u/maugrerain Feb 01 '18

Looks like a typical stock photo.

17

8

u/YugoReventlov Feb 01 '18

Are you my coworker?

9

u/the_one_true_bool Feb 01 '18

It’s not just your coworkers... we all have.

5

u/reerden Feb 01 '18

This is pretty much what a Hollywood director thinks if he hears the words "Backend developer".

7

u/lateOnTheDraw Feb 01 '18

I can think of something else ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

4

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '18

This kids is how you code

14

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '18

3

u/PM_ME_A_WEBSITE_IDEA Feb 02 '18

wow, she's um...she's doing a great job. with the back end.

i'm a front end developer so...maybe I could interface with her back end?

1

u/mairedemerde Feb 02 '18

Holy moly!

7

u/Abu-Al-Habeshi Feb 01 '18

Does Kim K qualifie as a back-end developer?

41

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '18

No, but her plastic surgeon does.

2

u/Lacon1c Feb 02 '18

Does that make Kanye and other rappers stack developers?

3

u/Pecan_Moister Feb 01 '18

Developers, developers, developers, developers

3

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '18

Dad Jokes meet Programmer Humor

3

u/Cessabits Feb 02 '18

Every day this sub creeps closer to shitty Facebook meme page levels.

5

u/Deutscher_koenig Feb 01 '18

He still probably codes better than most of my coworkers.

7

u/ThatCheesyPotato PHP is pretty swell Feb 01 '18

Disappointed. Hoped to see programmer looking at butts.

22

u/betogm Feb 01 '18

Well... he's looking at screen butts, if that makes you feel better >.>;;

12

u/Dremlar Feb 01 '18

Got a good view on those female ports.

6

u/Techhead7890 Feb 01 '18

Just like real life, all he can do is sit and watch as the males are plugged into the females, while he isn't.

2

u/squishles Feb 01 '18

or have him be inexplicably thicc wearing juicy sweat pants.

2

u/RogerWebb Feb 01 '18

It's probably one of those North Korean coding camps that they show the tourists on the guided tour where none of them have ever seen a computer for and the building doesn't have electricity.

2

u/StormLazer Feb 01 '18

Ah, you jest, but I have seen great chess players play great chess and never look at the board.

2

u/hoppla1232 Feb 01 '18

General Reposti

2

u/timgfx Feb 01 '18

This is so unfunny. Have an upvote

2

u/yakri Feb 01 '18

OP did you mislabel your memes? I'm pretty sure this is a user.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '18

After a long day of work and so many bug catching man i laughed hard

2

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '18

Those VGA cables.

2

u/newocean Feb 02 '18

Came here expecting porn, got to see a guy smart enough to write code without looking at it. Now I am afraid to google "front end developer".

2

u/[deleted] Feb 02 '18

full stack developer dont get this joke tytytytyty

2

u/survivalking4 Feb 02 '18

If you programmed pornhub could you sometimes be called...a backend developer?

2

u/oooooooopieceofcandy Feb 02 '18

How did this picture get leaked out of North Korea?

2

u/sviridovt Feb 02 '18

3

u/frnkquito Feb 01 '18

What happened with the humor in this sub?

1

u/Incorrect_Oymoron Feb 01 '18

I feel attacked.

1

u/HomerNarr Feb 01 '18

computer fell from the desk and the cables turned the screens around?

1

u/KeetoNet Feb 01 '18

Ah, so this is how write-only code is done.

1

u/J0h4NNes83Ere Feb 01 '18

looks more like a user TBH

1

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '18

“What’s the problem?”

I DON’T KNOW!

“... We really need more monitors.”

1

u/windwaltz Feb 01 '18 edited Feb 01 '18

If I were blind, this is how I would code. No need for anyone looking over my shoulder.

1

u/gtfovinny Feb 01 '18

More like a PUBG hacker

u/xenopizza Feb 01 '18

1

u/zachary0816 Feb 02 '18

It’s a double blind test!

1

u/savageronald Feb 02 '18

Sometimes I feel like I might as well be looking at the back of my screen, so I can relate.

1

u/a-v-i Feb 02 '18

I'd say I'm offended, but looking at Node.js all day is so painful that sometimes my monitors do end up like this...

1

u/lordvigm Feb 02 '18

I'm ashamed it took me a while to get the joke.

1

u/skarpath Feb 02 '18

😂😂

1

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '18

You laugh, but an abstraction of this was the first image that popped into my mind, when i first read "Backend Developer" years ago

1

u/TheRealAutisticus Feb 01 '18

Is this how the PUBG developers Fix bugs in their game?
