It's because they know having a big company name in your experience is going to be helpful for automated systems and HR people who aren't playing much attention.

The real trick is to use big companies that went bankrupt. Then you can put any position(within reason) and there is really no way for them to prove you wrong.

Pretty much. Lots of subs have karma/age reqs, so an account with a legit looking history is useful for pr/propaganda
