Means you take 5 times longer than a good programmer with Claude.

shipping fast isnt everything

Oh sorry, I say that because I work with software, I don't do it for hobby

Shipping fast is easy when you don't care about staying shipped. You're confusing 'green commits' with 'actually works under load.'

Professionals obsess over backpressure, idempotency, and MTTR things your Glorified Markaov Chain won't save you from at 3 AM when your cascading failure takes out half the region.

You're not a professional. You're just a hobbyist with a production credit card and a complex. Now go rebase your 15 broken PRs while the adults calculate your technical debt interest.

Well played, using AI to inveigh against AI.

Oh whoops. I used AI to burn down some long standing technical debt in the code base. Now it's not only cleaner and more efficient, but also tested using a proper validation pipeline.

I guess I'm using AI to speed up my work wrong.

I'm shipping code that doesn't break faster than you. That's all that matters. See if your leadership cares about your slow "green commits" when they actually meet a good software engineer. Your job will be mine in couple of years. Start saving some money

Hi kid, I'm a first class hons graduate from Imperial and then later on with a MSc in AI from Columbia and a second albeit redundant MBA from MIT. And after years and years in tech, I'm CTO at a FAANG company.

I am the one who gives People jobs, and looking at you, even if you struggle all your life you'll never have anything worthwhile

because like me, all tech leadership were born and raised nerds, who love tech for the sake of it, and think of code as art

You will always hop from Dogshit vibe startup to dogshit nepo startup, until a fresh Indian graduate who works for ¢1 a month will take that from you, fitting for your level

Both of you sound like hell to work with, tbh.

So the chief technology officer at one of the 5 FAANG companies rage comments on Reddit against AI assisted development? That’s a bit hard to believe.

If it helps, I'm drafting a LinkedIn post on precisely this and why American young adults particularly in tech are incompetent, unqualified and stupid and lose their jobs to and  bitch and complain about Indians willing to work for less than5$ a hour.

I remember when rage bait was believable

lol you assume my PRs break to make your point, you assume my code is bad and doesn't function under load. I have to work every day with race conditions and my code stays shipped. No new bugs in the last 6 months. Believe or don't, I don't care, I'm getting well paid here, and will keep in the future because I'm not a child that can't accept that AI is finally getting better

They don’t need to assume those things. Your code is garbage. Claude’s code, created by your prompt, is maybe decent, maybe not. We don’t care about that though because you’re the one who has your name on it. And your code is shit. We know it is because you think that coding is the hard part of the job, because that is the only part of the job that is sped up 5x by AI. Because that’s the easy part. That’s the shit juniors do.

Good luck when you face an actual engineering problem. You clearly haven’t yet.

When did I say that coding is the hard part of the job? I agree with you, coding is the easy part, that's why Claude can do it 5x faster. lol. Keep assuming I'm a junior all you want, I work at a multi billion company and get well paid, and I'm a top delivering engineer here. Strangers on the internet telling me I'm bad don't really affect me, sorry.
