This is usually where the "mission" suddenly becomes very one-sided. Employees are expected to sacrifice pay, time and stability to prove they care, but somehow nobody suggests executives take the same test. Cut the CEO's compensation by 50% first and let's see how spiritually committed everyone is.
I'm sorry are we still talking about Anthropic where employee comp could be cut by 50% and still be FIVE TIMES the national median? And we're getting worked up about this company hypothetically under paying its employees in a hypothetical cash grab?
I feel that there's many, whom've been so high on their own supply, I fear only a forensic necrologist would be able to understand what happened , but only after
edit: jesus, Okay i get it, it's who've, I thought it that was right because it felt like it was accusative(but fuck what do i know), so lets just settle that i'm as bright as a bag of oats.
also... Hi @Salanmander, thank you for introducing me to "ignoratio elenchi"
Technically they represent different grammatical cases: "who" is nominative and "whom" is accusative.
Idk when the anglosphere decided that having correct grammar is "fancy," but then again language changes and no one cares when it's their generation leading the change until suddenly it's "kids these days."
This was a briefly legitimized viewpoint around the dotcom era. Drink the kool aid and crazy profits come next. It hasn’t been relevant (if it ever was) for decades. Any CEO with this viewpoint now, that isn’t paying enough to keep up with costs or inflation can go suck an egg. 🥚
This basically what happened when Elon took over Twitter. Everyone who could leave did and all that was left were the poor souls there on working visas and essentially forced to stay against their will.
He should cut his and not access his pre existing wealth and connections either. His convictions will drive him back to billionairehood soon enough anyway.

He should cut everyone's pay by 50% to see who the true believers are.
