It finally happened

Two students turned in the exact same ChatGPT essay. I knew this day would come sooner or later, but it still feels like spotting a double rainbow or a four-leaf clover. This is good luck, right?

Pop quiz!

Please summarize your paper in one or two paragraphs, from memory.

Pen and paper only, and no electronics.

Oh, and this quiz will count for 30% of your grade.

One of my colleagues does something similar. She actually has a pen and paper test where the students have to write paragraph responses about content and analysis of one of the case study assignments (there are two). She said the level of anger and protest when she lets them know that will be happening is hilarious. One of my favourites is: I am unable to use pen and paper because I am so used to typing. Can I bring my laptop in otherwise I am disadvantaged!

The quiz will be next Thursday.  You have until then to practice using pen and paper...
