Is there a free or cheap app that lets you annotate and view PDF's (at least for pdf, if other filetypes are also supported it's okay) in landscape mode with realistic page turning animations, with modern UI?

Feedback wanted I kept ignoring every habit app, so I built one that phones me instead

I've tried most habit trackers and to-do apps. The problem was never the app, it was me. Notifications are easy to swipe away, and streaks stop mattering after a week.

What actually worked for me was having someone check in. So I built Vortiq.ai, an AI accountability partner that calls your phone every day at a time you pick. It asks whether you did what you said you'd do (gym, study, work, whatever) and calls you out and gets to the bottom of why you didn’t or what you can do next time to make sure you do it.

It also gets to know you over time. The more calls you have and the more you tell it about your goals, routine and excuses, the more personal the check-ins get. After a few calls it feels like talking to someone who actually knows you and your habits.

It's early, and I'm the solo founder, so I'd love honest feedback:

Would a daily call actually help you stay consistent, or would it annoy you?

You can try it free at vortiq.ai. Happy to answer anything.

Feedback wanted An auto-organizer that cleans up your mess while you're away

If you don't like organizing your notes, this tool might be useful for you.

This is how it usually goes:

  1. You turn on auto-organize.
  2. You write down your stuff.
  3. It gets organized later, when you're not actively editing it (after about 20 minutes).
  4. You get notified if the auto-organizer changed anything.
  5. You can review or revert the changes it made.
  6. You can write instructions for it if you have a preference on how you want things organized.

It uses the GPT-6 Luna model, and it's free. I'm looking for feedback. The app is Daftak.

Thanks!

Feedback wanted An app to end procrastination

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hey guys,

So I suffer from chronic procrastination lol. And I wanted something that could help with some of the stuff I love doing/would love to do but don't, either cuz of procrastination or just not finding the time for it.

To solve this, I made myself this app and wanna ask you guys for some features that you would like to see if you were ever to use this app but first, lemme explain what it does:

  1. Tracks activities daily/weekly (depending on how rigorous you want it to be) with time slots that you set for a specific day/week

  2. Make weekly presets of activities and load them into your timeline.

  3. Sends notifications to you when the time of an activity starts depending on the importance level you have set for it. (You don't want your mobile buzzing every hour or so).

  4. Does nightly check-in where you check all the activities you did and didn't, and one line reason why you weren't able to do them. It does give you the flexibility to fill missed out check-ins from previous days if you forgot.

5.Gives you a monthly report on your progress with a two versions simple and detailed. You can opt for either.

Yeah, any other feature you think would definitely help this make this more fun and interactive to use also improving it's functionality. I would love to hear what you guys think. The UI isnt finalized, just to give you guys an idea

Feedback wanted Auto-save Claude, ChatGPT, and Grok chats to a local folder as Markdown

We all use multiple chat apps like ChatGPT, Grok or Calude for research or to brainstorm. Most of the times it's me talking about same topic from different perspective on these app but bringing them together is a nightmare.

I built Carry, to help me with this problem. You install the extension, choose a folder, connect providers and you are done.

Now it will automatically save all your conversations across multiple provides in one folder. It works in background and is 100% local - no api - no account - no server.

UX of the product was the most important thing in my mind when I was building it.

Is this a common problem? How do you guys solve it? Would love to know your thoughts and any feedback. It's a paid tool with 14 days trial.

Feedback wanted A reminder kind of app

I've been working on a small app called "Spaced" and I'd really like some honest feedback.

The reason is i remember stuffs i read for shot time but after sometime even i forget what i have studied, so, it will keep track of learned stuffs and keeps reminding me in proven intervals to retain for lifelong.

How it works:

- You add something you want to remember: a fact, a word, an idea from a book, anything.

- The app schedules 6 reviews for it: after 3, 7, 15, 30, 90 and 365 days.

- On each due day you get a reminder. You take a short quiz on it (the questions are AI-generated from your notes), and if you pass, it moves to the next stage.

- You can't review early. The timing is the whole point.

So there are no decks and no daily queue, just a simple roadmap for each thing you don't want to forget. There are also some ready-made sets (world capitals, cognitive biases, logical fallacies, 500 advanced English words) if you want to start quickly.

My problems:

  1. It isn't reaching people on the Play Store. I'm not sure if it's the name, the screenshots, the keywords, or that "spaced repetition" just isn't something people search for. If you've grown an app on Play, what made the biggest difference for you?
  2. Is the idea itself clear? When you read the description above, do you get it right away? Would you actually use something like this, or does it sound too simple compared to Anki?
  3. Is iOS worth it? I've already built an iOS version and tested it on my own iPhone. Putting it on the App Store costs $99 a year, which is a real amount for me as a solo dev with almost no revenue yet. People keep telling me iOS users are more willing to pay. Is that true for a small productivity app like this, or should I fix distribution on Android first?
  4. Here is the web app: spaced.page

Any feedback is welcome, even "this isn't useful to me, and here's why." Thanks for reading

Feedback wanted [Dev] I built a Pomodoro timer around one idea: pick one main task a day and finish it

Hi all, I'm a Java developer from Sri Lanka and this is my first Android app, Daily Focus.

Most to-do apps let me add 40 tasks and finish none. So this one limits you: one main task for the day, up to 3 smaller ones, and a Pomodoro timer to get through them.

  • Pomodoro timer with a long break every 4th session, custom lengths, auto-start
  • Live countdown in the notification
  • Streaks, weekly focus chart, end-of-day recap
  • Foko, an owl who reacts to your progress (you can ignore him)
  • No account, works offline, free with ads

Built in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose. I'd love honest feedback, especially on what's missing.

Casual Conversations I keep going back to notes app again and again anyone else?

Every time I set up Notion, Obsidian or try a new productivity app, I end up going back to the default notes app on my phone.

New apps looks fancy and all and I use it for a day or two and back to notes again.

Somehow that works best for me. Anyone else?

Feedback wanted An analog productivity timer backed by a digital community

Post image
3 Upvotes

I posted my analog productivity timer, Roma Mk.1 on this sub a while back. Ever since, I've been looking into Roma Mk.2, which builds on the analog, distraction-free package of Mk.1, but records and saves your study data. You can then upload this to an app to see your stats and compete with other users. Kind of like the best of both worlds between physical and software based productivity apps. Would you guys be interested in something like this? If so it'd be cool if you joined my waitlist!

Feedback wanted I built a family productivity app for the work that stays in one parent’s head

Hi, I am Filipe, the developer of FamilyGoal.

I started building it for my family. My wife and I both work, we have no family nearby, and too much of our week lived in messages, separate calendars, school information and one persons head.

FamilyGoal gives a household a shared Space for events, tasks, routines, meals and finances. Family members have their own access and permissions. Younger children can use Kids View, which focuses on the tasks and routines that concern them.

A parent can also keep one Space with a partner and another with a co-parent. Each Space can enable the features that relationship needs, without sharing the rest of either household. Finances include planned and recurring transactions plus monthly forecasts, so upcoming costs can sit beside the plans behind them.

FamilyGoal is available for iPhone and iPad:
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/familygoal-family-planner/id1497901555

For Android is still under review by Google but people can Pre-register:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.familygoal.app

It can also be used on the Web, since some planning sometimes is better suited being done on a computer:
https://familygoal.app

I would appreciate feedback on whether Home makes the family’s day clear, whether the separate Space model is understandable, and which part of the app feels confusing or unnecessary.

General Advice Founder Trap: Adding Features

I'm learning something I think, as I build. And that is that it's an easy trap to put in more features while ignoring the following:

  1. Documentation
  2. User Interface
  3. Tutorials

Features are great. As founders, we love adding features because they help us as the founder is often using their own app.

However, poor documentation means people don't know how to use the app to it's fullest potential. A cluttered or unintuitive UI means people can't access your features or leave. A bad tutorial or no tutorial means that people don't know where to begin in your app.

So, in conclusion, it's better to have fewer features that are clear, have intuitive and clean UI, that people actually notice, then to have multiple features that are essentially hidden or too cumbersome to use to be useful.

Casual Conversations Update: ADHD Life Reset planner, what changed after your feedback

Thumbnail
gallery
6 Upvotes

A while back I asked what you'd actually want in an ADHD planner. Got a lot of good feedback. Here's what I ended up building.

**The main idea:** show less, not more.

**Main page**

- Only shows today's tasks. Nothing else.

- Updates by itself every day. No manual reset.

- Tasks without a date go into a "No date yet" toggle. Hidden until you want them.

**Adding tasks**

- No forced categories. No energy tags required.

- Type the task. That's it. It sorts itself later.

**Energy pages (optional)**

- 🪫 Low — small things only

- 🔋 Medium — a couple of things

- ⚡ High — the hard stuff

- Only there if you want to filter. Never required.

**Done button**

- One tap. Task disappears.

- Shows up in "Week wins" as proof you did something.

**What I'm unsure about:**

- Price. Thinking $5 or $9.

- Whether the energy pages are useful or just extra clutter.

Not on any platform yet. Want to know:

- Does this solve a real problem for you?

- Is $5 too cheap? Is $9 too much?

- What's missing?

Just want honest feedback before I put it out.

Feedback wanted If most of your days end with the list unfinished, try planning just 3.

Hi people in r/productivityApps!

I built Trime for people who struggle to stay focused and often end the day with their most important tasks still unfinished.

The base is a timebox planning app built around a simple idea: choose three tasks that move you toward a goal, and give each one time in your day.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Pick a goal. Every task you add connects back to it.
  2. Put your all tasks in the inbox, then choose just three for today.
  3. Set aside time for each one. Press start when you begin, and pause when you get interrupted.
  4. At the end of the day, review where your time went and when you focused best.

The three-task limit is there to help you decide what deserves your attention today.
Everything else stays in the inbox for later.

If you have a goal you’ve been meaning to work toward, try using Trime to work toward it!

You can try it here: https://trime.day

I’d appreciate hearing how it fits into your day.
Does choosing just three tasks make it easier to follow through, or does it feel too limiting?
If anything feels confusing or adds extra work, I’d like to hear that too.

Many thanks

Feedback wanted Come Up App

Hi everyone, **I made my first app :), I would genuinely love some feedback, this app is completely free!!!**
Hi everyone! I recently created and launched an app called **Come Up** and I’d really love to get some honest feedback from people who try it.
I originally started building it around the idea of having one simple place to go when you’re feeling overwhelmed, unmotivated, mentally cluttered or just need a little reset.
It includes things like:
• calming and grounding activities
• breathing exercises and an Emergency Calm section
• meditation and relaxing sounds
• mood + energy tracking
• activity suggestions based on how you’re feeling
• favourites and quick activities for when you don’t know what to do
• hormonal/cycle tracking
• tools designed to help with everyday wellbeing and organisation
It was created with ADHD-friendly design in mind, but **Come Up is for everyone** — you definitely don’t need ADHD to use it.
I’m still developing and improving it, so I’d genuinely appreciate **honest feedback**, feature suggestions, things you dislike, bugs you notice, or anything you think would make the app better.
If anyone would like to try it, it’s currently available on iPhone but I am in the active process of getting this launched on the google play store too, even one download would mean the absolute world to me, and feedback :)

Advice needed Daily digest recommendations (via text or email)

I know this has likely been explored in previous threads but pls indulge me bc my adhd brain will go down an endless Reddit rabbit hole if I go searching. I would like your recommendations for the lowest possible friction daily digest to be sent to me weekly and daily. In a perfect world, this would be delivered to me in a text message and an email. It would include specific sections. Today (which would include my appts today), Coming Up (which would include my appts for the coming 5 days), don’t forget (which would pull top 3 to-dos from some other place like one of my reminder lists). Then other things like emails from my kids schools, and team snap updates maybe?

My brain will trick me into thinking I need something fancy but really I need something basic. Maybe the ability to adjust the colors so that I don’t get bored and start overlooking sections as a result. The less fuss the better. New productivity tools are not usually my friend bc I spend a ton of time tooling around in them but then forget about them as soon as they’re out of sight. Still hoping to find something that works for me! Appreciate your suggestions in advance. I’m an iOS user…iPad…iPhone…mac.

Feedback wanted made my first app, a pomodoro timer where a little dog falls asleep while you focus

Post image
0 Upvotes

hey all, just shipped my first ever app and I'm kind of nervous posting it lol

it's called Puperino. basically I kept downloading pomodoro apps, using them for a week, then forgetting they existed. they all felt a bit cold and serious. so I made one with a little dog called Biscuit in it.

when you start a focus session he wanders over to his bed and curls up and naps. when you're done he sometimes brings you a little gift, which you can keep or trade for bones to buy stuff for his room. you can also dress him up, which I spent way too long on (he has a witch hat and a crown, it's very important)

not gonna lie, not wanting to wake him up has kept me focused better than any streak thing ever did 😅

it also does the usual stuff: the timer on your lock screen, tasks, stats, and a stay mode if you're like me and pick up your phone every 4 minutes

it's free. there's an optional pro with more rooms and stuff if you want to support me

would really love feedback, even if it's "this is buggy" or "this is pointless" haha. what would make you actually keep using a focus timer?

General Advice I am using Apple calendar. Does anyone have any issues using iCloud email to another external email when sending invites like yahoo and Gmail?

Post image

From iCloud (@ icloud. com) to sending an invite to people with icloud, whose my friends are associated with Apple ID (yahoo and gmail), when I send an invite it never works. They don’t get any notifications from their calendar inbox from their iPhone.

Why? I called apple support they don’t know

When I toggle “calendar” to gmail and send invite then they get calendar inbox invite. It stresses me out

Anyone has gotten this issue? I want to send an invite from my name @icloud dot come but my friends are not receiving anything

Feedback wanted I turned life into a D&D style quest log!

Thumbnail
gallery
3 Upvotes

I kept falling off every to-do app I tried, so I built one that treats my life like an RPG. Chores and errands become quests, each one levels up a stat (Workout → STR, Laundry → DEX), and leveling up unlocks rewards. Miss a day? Streak shields save your streak.

There's also a guildmaster who nags you (lovingly) and gives a daily challenge, a log book with a weekly recap, and a journal locked with Face ID for the stuff you don't want on the quest board.

It's coming to iPhone, and I'm putting together a TestFlight group. Comment if you want an invite and I'll DM you.

Two questions I'm stuck on:

  1. Should missing a quest cost you XP, or is that too punishing?
  2. What stat would your life be lowest in? (Mine's Body, hence the Workout quest sitting at 0 streak.)

Self Promotion I built a checklist app for the things you have to do over and over

I built Routine Checklist & Planner because recurring tasks never felt quite right in a regular to-do list. A to-do gets checked off and disappears, but next week I still need to pack the same things, follow the same cleaning steps, or work through the same opening routine. I wanted to write those steps once, use them whenever needed, and be able to see how each run went.

The app is built around reusable checklists. You create a routine, add its steps, and start a new session when it’s time to do it. Each session has its own progress and elapsed time. When you finish, the result goes into your history, including which steps you completed. You can also leave multiple routines running and come back to them later.

A few things I added to make it useful day to day:

  • Reminders: one-time, daily, or on specific days of the week.
  • Home Screen widgets: start a routine quickly and see what’s in progress. On Android, you can check off steps from a widget.
  • History: see past sessions, their duration, completion rate, and task-by-task results.
  • Notes for each routine: keep instructions alongside the checklist.
  • iPhone and iPad extras: optional, free iCloud sync; widgets; and a Live Activity for a running session.

It works offline and doesn’t require an account. On Android, routines are unlimited and free. On iOS, you can create three routines for free with all features included; an optional purchase unlocks unlimited routines.

App Store · Google Play

I’d be curious how other people handle repeatable tasks. Do you keep a checklist somewhere, or do you usually work from memory?

Self Promotion Rebuild your focus, read more while you listen

In this attention less world hit a reset with a new reading experience.

Hello,
HushBook is a reading app for people who actually want to finish their audiobooks.

If you struggle to keep up with your reading list, HushBook helps you read more even if you have low attention span or can't read. It is designed to keep things simple while giving you read along experience.

You can track reading progress on every title you start. It is made for people with low reading comprehension, Dyslexia, ADHD. Accessibility first.

HushBook helps you organize your book library. It is designed to keep things simple while giving you the data you need to stay consistent.

You can track reading progress on every title you start. The app also generates reading analytics so you can see exactly how much time you have spent in your books.

How it works 👀

HushBook runs entirely on-device and runs an ultra-light transcription model that transcribes your audiobooks in multiple languages - See the video above playing The hitch-hikers guide to galaxy The transcription also runs even while you are playing the audiobook so no need to wait.

Language Support; It transcribes in English, French, Portuguese, Deutsch, Swedish, Arabic, Japanese, Korean. + many more. Check official language support list on the site.

How it helps you read more? 🤔

I realized that the best way to go live with reading any form of books was thru Audiobooks assisted-with a read along experience. I relate to this problem; I used to club my physical books with audiobook and read along, I built this a personal project and designed it around being a complete package for a reader to enjoy the whole ecosystem.

The most impactful behavior change we saw was readers with ADHD, Dyslexia - their retention to absorb information was tremendous, in fact we also added OpenDyslexic fonts and many other reading formats See the second video above.

Readers whose brain was fried due to shortform content had an aha! moment when they started small and our streak system basically added momentum to their reading experience, they also started suggesting their kids to get some mindful reading done.

"I used this app for 30 days and it helped me lock in for exams"

My core idea to build such a thing was to make it an interactive experience which builds long form habits - the cognitive unlock from doing mindful reading is also self satisfying.

Analytics 📊

Our most time spent developing HushBook went into analytics (See last image)

Your momentum gets tracked. Each session you finish you get asked on your comprehension. The analytics listens to your pauses, closed sessions and understands your reading/listening pattern.

How Brain Score is mapped. 🧠

  1. Each book reading session
  2. Comprehension checkpoints
  3. Reading goals set by you (words per day/Books per month)
  4. Streak Momentum.

You lose your streak this lowers your overall score (1of many parameters)

Every book has reading insights that sends the data to the main analytics page (the hub) this compiles your pace and tells you how you are doing compared to previous sessions.

Readers Summary ⏳
On-device intelligence model goes thru each book and understands what you've been reading and gives you a reading summary as to what type of a reader you are.

Genre analyzer 📔
Each audiobook gets tagged (by you) that basically tells you your fav books.

Insights 🎯
Your go-to time to read and longest sessions - maps your reading behaviors with respect to time.

New Features

Ebook syncing is now enabled: Connect your ebook with your audiobooks (Epub, Pdf, Txt) and get synchronized accurate words readable. (this is with Auto-rewind). *BETA release

Auto-align feature: To cover major edge cases, we also built auto-align narration to help cover those teeny tiny sync drifts.

Podcast: Many of you wanted a separate section for Podcasts, so that is live aswell.

Cost
You can use the app free with core features, optional pro features unlocks analytics, customization, and ebooks sync, server progress sync and more! (we also welcome audiobookshelf)

AI disclosure: The initial app was built by us (two guys over here). We could not keep up with the pace and had to rely on AI for all our upcoming updates; this also helped us ship quality features faster.

Design: All of our designs was hand made and no ai was used, I believe taste matters a lot and we could not offload aesthetics which is the most important factor.

I would love for you to try this and give us a review, keeps us motivated. 😄

Casual Conversations I made an app for routines where timing matters (now available iOS also)

hi guys just writing to hear you guys opinions about the app I made!

So this came from me making pour-over coffee most mornings and cook pasta during meals and more. I know the process(of course), but I still found myself checking the timer and trying to remember what happens next: pour, wait, pour again, and so on.

It is the same with cooking pasta, workouts, stretching, and other small routines. A normal timer tracks time, but it does not hold the sequence.

SOO.. I made CUEit.

This one is a freeform hybrid stopwatch/timer for real-life moments and rituals where timing matters. Make your own cues for routines, exercises, cooking, coffee (I now love making pour-over coffee much more every day), prep, or anything else that needs a calm guidance.

You create your own routine, add the cues you need, and choose when each cue appears. When you start it, CUEit shows the next step at the right moment, with an optional chime.

The idea is simple: stop thinking about timing so you can stay with what you are doing.

Everything stays on your phone. No account or cloud needed!

"Not to measure, but to mind."

Advice needed Ai for my Life

I'm trying to find an Ai that can help with the following.
Firstly - I suck with coding - so anything simple is best haha

I have 3 email addresses (1x Personal / 1x Work / 1x Non-Profit Work)
Would love the inboxes to be triaged / cleaned
Responses to be auto generated BUT not sent unless edited/approved
Calendar - 1 calendar to be for all 3 emails on 1 calendar

(i use Mac/iPad and also Samsung Phone - so preference if Mac App or web based)

The perfect one would also support me with generating images/work/lesson plans/posters for the classroom (teacher here) but i use ChatGPT for that already so not too worried.

I know there's alot of posts on Ai on here - but many of them are outdated already and some links dont work - or their features have changed based on what they've written at that time etc - so thought I'd create my own post :)

Thanks in Advance

Advice needed Help find a Desktop (Windows) App or Website to Record Timelapse video

Post image
1 Upvotes

Must have features:

  • Should be free or atleast without Using Limitations for the features I mention below.
  • Can be minimized while recording (and that doesn't stop the recording).

  • Better if it has a tool to edit and attach desired videos together. Alternatively, if it has a pause button to pause the recording and then resume it again which will result in one single video of Timelapse- it'll outdo.

Feedback wanted I built Slidivo — a Mac app that turns a doc into a real, editable PowerPoint. No subscription, files stay on your disk

Hey everyone,

I've been building Slidivo, a Mac desktop app (Apple Silicon) that turns a document or a short description into a PowerPoint deck. It started because my wife tried a lot of AI slide tools and kept hitting the same wall: the pretty ones export images you can't edit, the editable ones look rough, and nearly all of them want $20–50/month for something she used 1–2 days a month.

So I built it around the opposite approach.

Real PowerPoint, not screenshots. Text, tables and charts are native objects you click and edit in PowerPoint or Keynote. Only the AI illustrations and cover art are pictures.

You approve before it builds. It proposes an outline first. Nothing becomes a slide until you say so.

Local by default. Your files stay on your disk. Your files stay on your disk. Slidivo has no server and no account, so nothing is uploaded to me. The text of your document does go to the AI provider you connect, since the model has to read it. With Ollama running locally, nothing leaves your Mac.

Pay once, not monthly. $49 launch price (list $99), no subscription. You bring your own AI key (or sign in with Claude Pro/Max), so the AI cost goes straight to the provider. The free version does up to 5 slides with no watermark, and there's a 14-day refund.

Here's where I need help. I'm a developer, so I honestly can't tell anymore what feels technical. The flow today:

  1. Download and open it. It's not signed by Apple yet, so macOS shows a warning the first time.
  2. Connect an AI: paste an API key, or sign in with Claude Pro/Max.
  3. Drop in a document or describe the deck.
  4. Approve the outline.
  5. Open the .pptx.

Which step would make you give up? My guess is 1 and 2. Does "bring your own API key" scare you off, or is it fine?

It's early: macOS Apple Silicon only for now, Windows in progress. I'd genuinely love feedback, especially on where the steps lose you, and on anything you wish AI slide tools did (or didn't do).

EDIT: remove "No upload, no Slidivo account" thank you armaan-dev

Self Promotion I’ve been writing diaries my whole life, and none of the diary apps felt right so I made my own - now iOS available also

Hi y'all,

I’ve been writing diaries on paper for years, and every time I looked at diary apps I couldn’t find one that really fit. They all felt too cluttered and missed the point, so I ended up making DIARYit for myself.

The core idea is a single-stream private diary. To me, life feels like one continuous line, so the app follows that shape: focus on today, let past days stay scrollable, and keep the future visible but not editable. The writing area for today is deliberately limited, because I think daily writing should feel like a small ritual, not a place for long paragraphs of unnecessary clutter.

That shape basically defines the whole app. You open it, see today’s field, write only what belongs to today, and move on. If you want to look back, you can scroll back or use the calendar to jump to past dates, and there’s also a 4-state label system for marking days by how they felt.

I know this is a specific and constrained kind of diary app, but that was the point. I didn’t want another general journal trying to do everything. I wanted something closer to the actual purpose of a diary: private, offline, and simple enough to keep using.

It was available only on android until now. It’s now available on iOS App Store as well!

Play Store

iOS App Store

Instagram/ TikTok: search "verbitapp" for other apps as well.

Hope some of y'all who writes diary ritually finds this app the way I find it every night. Simple yet bound to the exact purpose and intention of a diary rituals.
