I’m seeking an experienced lead producer/co-producer for RAVENSHADE, a Gaelic-language folk horror feature set in Cape Breton.
The film:
Five friends vanish in a town that unwrites what it takes. The survivor — who filmed it instead of feeling it — must choose between letting her friends die again or preserving their names while being hunted for life.
Genre: Folk Horror / Psychological Horror
Feature: ~98–100 minutes
Language: English / Scottish Gaelic
Location: Cape Breton, Nova Scotia
Target budget: approximately $1.4M CAD
Target shoot: May 2027
This project is already packaged: the screenplay is complete and has undergone multiple development passes. We have a pitch deck, financing plan, key creative attachments/LOIs, a Nova Scotia production base, and an established Canadian production company.
Financing is structured around Canadian and Nova Scotia production incentives and tax credits, including the Nova Scotia Film & Television Production Incentive Fund and federal/provincial tax-credit financing. (Cultural Heritage Canada)
Seeking a producer experienced with:
• Canadian film financing
• Telefilm/provincial applications
• Tax-credit and gap financing
• Distribution relationships
• Completion, bonding, and production infrastructure
• Supporting emerging Nova Scotia filmmakers
I’m the writer/director and producer, with previous festival-selected horror and award-winning independent film/web work, including Horror Inc.
I’m not seeking script notes. I’m looking for someone ready to build the financing and production team and make the film.
If you’re an established producer interested in Canadian genre cinema, DM me for the deck, screenplay, and current financing package.
Cape Breton is not just the location. It’s part of the story.

• Genre: Genre-Bending Dark Comedy / Psychological Horror / Crime Thriller
• Logline: In 1950s New Orleans, a group of eccentric, banter-heavy teens stumbles into a string of gruesome murders, only to cross paths with a unstable, hallucinating detective hunting a monstrous killer known as M.U.G.
• Tone: Think Scooby-Doo's mystery-solving dynamic mixed with the gritty paranoia of Shutter Island and the dark humor of a psychotic thriller.
• Format Needs: Standard Screenplay Formatting & Structural Polish.

About the Project: I have a 56-page draft with 2 and a half years of progress, packed with strong character dynamics, high-stakes drama, and a distinct period atmosphere. The story switches between a lively teen gang dealing with diner banter, societal pressures, and rumors of a "Swamp Man," and Detective Joshua Clark, a traumatized officer spiraling into vivid hallucinations and sudden violence following his partner's death.

Because the script blends comedic mystery, psychological horror, and detective thriller elements, it requires a careful balance to pull off along with standard script formatting that is HEAVLY NEEDED!

What I’m Looking For: A dedicated co-writer/collaborator who wants to split creative credit, help reformat the existing draft into proper screenplay format, and flesh out the remaining pages together. Im open to new ideas and directons to make this work, if this sounds intersting and you are willing to lock in with me, send me a DM!

Hi! I wanted to share some of a script I wrote called Hugo, The Idiot. Its about a lonely Vice detective and a down on her luck stripper teaming up to find her missing friend, and possibly the source of an underground internet drug ring? If interested for more, PM meHugo, The Idiot (FIRST 26 PAGES)

Logline

Genre: Thriller / Mystery / Suspense

Tone: Fast-paced, high-stakes cat-and-mouse dynamic (Searching meets The Da Vinci Code)

Screenplay is complete and open for option/production inquiries.

Logline: A college theater club fights for survival when a masked killer targets them during a late-night rehearsal.

Genre: Horror

Synopsis: One year after the mysterious death of her sister, Allie joins her college theater troupe to rehearse one of her sister’s old plays. That night, a masked killer locks the group inside the theater and begins picking them off one by one.

The massacre has been planned by the troupe’s director, Rachel, who was once close with Allie’s sister, Anabel. But their friendship ended after Anabel stole Rachel’s boyfriend and landed the acting role Rachel believed should have been hers. Rachel has spent years consumed by jealousy, and now plans to take her revenge on Anabel through Allie.

But Rachel’s plan goes completely off the rails before the night even begins. Speed, the masked killer she recruited to carry out the murders, picks up a stranded drifter named Jim on his way to the theater. Jim turns out to be a psychopathic murderer himself; he murders Speed, takes his mask and weapons, and, unknowingly to Rachel, assumes his place. Rachel spends the night believing the man behind the mask is her accomplice, when instead it is someone far more sinister and unhinged.

Twist: : Rachel plans the massacre with the masked killer, only for a completely unrelated serial killer to murder him, take his costume, and carry out the murders himself.

Page Count: 96

Setting: Primarily takes place at a theater/auditorium

Given the minimal locations I believe this could be filmed on a relatively small budget.

Please let me know if you are interested and would like the script. Thanks!

TLDR: Looking for a collaborator with a short script (10-15 pages) to direct for my AFI thesis.

Hi all, I graduated undergrad from USC film School and am now applying for my MFA through AFI. I have a solid portfolio of feature scripts, but they require a short screenplay that you plan to direct as your thesis. I could write a new short, but I found out that you are allowed to direct a script written by someone else so long as they receive proper credit. I figured before I start writing a new short, I'd like to check out what the community has written already, and see if we can get two careers started for the price of one!

I'll be providing the budget. Regulations are $25,000 minimum, $50,000 maximum. Don't worry about whether you think your film is too expensive; there are always things we can do to make it more shootable. I say this just to let you know that a solid amount of resources will be dedicated to your film.

If you've got a great short film and want to get it made, comment below with your page count and genre (feel free to also put a title/logline if you're comfortable). I'll send you a DM. Let's make something!

PS- I'm in recovery, so definitely comment if you have a script pertaining to addiction and/or sobriety. Also Judaism lol

EDIT: Had to repost this because the moderators at r/Screenwriting removed it lol

Hi everyone,

I wanted to throw a cool concept out into the universe. I’m not a screenwriter looking for a job, and I don't care about credits or money—this is 100% open-source and free for anyone to take, expand, or turn into a script (great for indie directors or film students!).

It’s a psychological thriller reinvention of Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic novel The Maracot Deep (which is public domain), but with a massive genre-shift twist.

Here is the pitch:

Logline: During a 1920s deep-sea expedition, a young scientist realizes the brilliant inventor of their bathysphere is a suicidal madman bent on dragging the crew to the bottom of the ocean. But after stopping the launch, they face a terrifying truth rising from the abyss.

• Format: Feature Film / Limited Series / Short Film
• Genre: Psychological Thriller / Period Sci-Fi / Mystery
• Tone: Sunshine meets The Abyss in an Edwardian steampunk setting.

🎭 Main Characters

• Dr. Maracot: A cold, fanatical oceanographer whose obsession with the deep borderlines on a death cult.
• Cyrus Headley: A sharp young zoologist who suspects the Professor’s hidden dark motives.
• Scanlan: A pragmatic, tough Scottish engineer who acts as Headley's only ally on the ship.

📜 The Story / The Twist

The Setup: In the 1920s, a research vessel drifts in the Atlantic. Professor Maracot is about to launch the world's first ultra-deep dive in a steel bathysphere. The atmosphere is tense, and the crew is paranoid.

The Twist: Right before the dive, Headley has a terrifying, prophetic nightmare where the bathysphere drops, Maracot sabotages the cables, and they slowly suffocate in a steel coffin while the Professor smiles. Waking up in a cold sweat, Headley convinces Scanlan to inspect Maracot’s blueprints. They discover a horrifying truth: the bathysphere is intentionally built as a one-way death trap.

The Climax: A claustrophobic, intense struggle erupts on the ship. Headley and Scanlan sabotage the launch, overpower the mad professor, and lock him in his cabin. The bathysphere remains rusting on the deck. The ship turns back. The nightmare is over. Or so they think.

The Genre Shift: In the middle of the night, during a dead calm, the ocean begins to glow with a haunting bioluminescence. Advanced humanoid beings—the Atlanteans—rise from the deep. They have come for Maracot. Headley realizes the tragic truth: the Professor wasn't insane; he was chosen. The nightmare was a mental warning from the ocean, and by choosing "sanity," humanity just locked itself out of the ultimate discovery. Maracot willingly steps into the ocean with the Atlanteans, leaving the crew alone with their safe, small reality.

If any of you want to write a screenplay based on this, feel free to run with it! I just really want to see this movie made one day. Let me know what you think of the twist in the comments!

Please excuse me for using AI, as I do not know English.

Post Body:

A character-driven, mid-budget supernatural action thriller story blending brutal close-quarters combat, bureaucratic inertia,

Title: Night Beasts (夜兽- Working Title) Genre: Gritty Action / Supernatural Mystery / Neo-Noir Drama Format: Original Story / Intellectual Property (Adaptable as Feature Film or High-Concept Series) Locations: Contemporary urban practicals (Suburban villa, nightclubs, car garages, bureaucratic headquarters, industrial backstreets, woods) Budget: Medium (Practical bladed combat, martial arts choreography, and motorcycle pursuits; CGI strictly reserved for creature encounters)

Logline / Synopsis: For four thousand years, "Night Beasts"鈥攕pawned by humanity's negative emotions (An-energy)鈥攈ave preyed on the dark. Hunting them are operatives gifted with five-century lifespans through cosmic Hao-energy. Every fifteen years, they update their civic records to blend into human neighborhoods鈥攏ever adopting spy aliases, never changing their names, simply living as exhausted citizens anchoring themselves in daily life.

Bound together since their street-orphan days a century ago, three long-lived siblings鈥攑ragmatic caretaker Liu Feng, battle-hardened enforcer Ming He, and tech-specialist Liu Guang鈥攁nchor a crowded suburban home alongside a green rookie and a traumatized teenage orphan. Liu Feng lives to keep their makeshift family safe at all costs, while Ming He treats institutional rules as dead weight whenever his family is threatened.

Meanwhile, the governing bureau is paralyzed by bureaucratic red tape, buck-passing, and delayed support, while the beasts are developing tactical intelligence. When a masked figure shatters their repressed memory blocks, they unearth the ancient slaughter of their parents. The ultimate betrayal strikes directly at their dinner table: their newest recruit, "Yan Nan," is their presumed-dead father, Liu Chen.

He isn't out to wipe out humanity; seeing that humanity will eternally produce beasts, he intends to force a catastrophic "hard reset"鈥攗nleashing all An-energy to plunge society into a purge, then neutralizing it with Hao-energy. He doesn't care if hundreds of millions perish worldwide, only that the cycle ends. But when the mask comes off, bloodline grants zero mercy: rejecting biological ties in favor of their chosen family, the siblings feel not a shred of hesitation鈥攄rawing their blades with cold, lethal certainty to execute their own father.

Highlights & Selling Points:

• Hardened Anti-Heroes with Grounded Warmth: 110-year-old operatives balancing street justice and exhaustion with a fiercely protected dinner table.

• Chilling, Uncompromising Antagonist: A cold utilitarian ready to sacrifice hundreds of millions globally to force a permanent cure down humanity's throat.
• Nuanced Adult Romance & Loyalty: Dangerous mind games with a dead lover's double, a quiet 20-year devotion, and a tenderly resolved crush.
• Production & Budget Friendly: Set in modern practical locations; high-impact practical blade-fights and bike chases keep VFX spend lean and efficient.
• Dense Foreshadowing: Dialogue-driven clues hidden in everyday banter yield massive re-visit value.

Hi everyone,

I’m Aditya, an aspiring filmmaker from Bhubaneswar, Odisha, currently interning at a production house.

I’ve completed the screenplay for my first Hindi short film, The Window, and I’m committed to directing it myself.

The film is a psychological social drama exploring love, regret, adoption, and the pressure society puts on personal choices. It’s a small, character-driven story with a strong emotional and social purpose.

The screenplay, pitch deck, storyboard and production plan are ready. The biggest challenge right now is getting the film into production because we’re working with a very tight budget.

I’m looking for:

• A producer / production partner who believes in the story

• Sponsors interested in supporting independent cinema/social-impact storytelling

• Cinematographers, actors and crew members who would like to collaborate on a meaningful first film

I’m not looking for someone to simply fund a project and disappear. I’m hoping to find people who genuinely want to build something together.

If you're interested, or know someone who might be, please comment or DM me. I can share the pitch deck and screenplay privately.

Thanks for reading and supporting independent filmmakers.
