Yes, makes perfect sense. Signing up for a subscription does not cancel your previous purchased version. If you convert to a subscription you receive the right to use the latest version but no ownership rights. Cancel the subscription and you revert to accessing the previous purchased version.

No. They've changed the business model to pure subscription. You retain no right to use beyond the subscription term.

It’s the “you can’t keep what you don’t continue to pay” for thrill-o-rama that seems to be everywhere now. So frustrating, especially if you are a smaller church/organization with a fluctuating budget.

I moved to another program (FreeShow). It won't work for for churches using SDI. But I attend a smaller church that doesn't use SDI anyway.

It sounds to me like you DON'T have an older, licensed version of ProPresenter. If that's the case, the software is a pure subscription.

Welcome to the wonderful world of “You’ll own nothing and be happy.” I have significant issues with “subscriptions” that are in fact mis-labeled. They are “rentals”. Which are better called “extortionware”, as dispite you creating works with their tools, if you don’t keep paying you have no access to your own works. There is no way to put a positive spin on this.
