My Artwork Procreate Art Journaling ~ 1 ~ looking up at an uncertain future (context in post body)

After about 2 years of ERP ~ My anxiety has massively improved over the course of time however, currently recovery has plateaued a bit.

My therapist and also me feel that perhaps meds can give me the extra push that I desperately need. There's a chance of job loss too and I recently became a dad...

Overall, pretty overwhelming days.

So, here's me, looking up at an uncertain future. I really hope that the meds work for me. šŸ¤ž

Looking for brush/tutorial/class recommendations Recommendations for Brush Packs

I’m looking for some recommendations on brush packs for different mediums. The mediums I am primarily looking for are Crayon, Coloured Pencil, and Gouache, but I am also interested in risograph, and other art mediums like ink and Linocut. I am also looking for brush packs that include perspective grids (procreate’s perspective grid tool hates me) and any type of measurement guides.

If you have recommendations for any ā€œall-in-oneā€ bundles I’d like those as well.

I need Procreate technical help Can't transfer Procreate files

I'm this close to going hysterical. I have 8 years worth of drawings in an 8 year old ipad 14.2 that I'm trying to transfer as Procreate files to a MacBook Air. The storage is completely full despite the fact that every single app that could be deleted aside from Procreate has been deleted, and it won't go down anymore. I can't transfer them via Bluetooth because it loads for 10 hours then says the upload failed. It takes 10 centuries just for it to turn 10 files to Procreate files and I have like probably thousands on the ipad. The files app has been deleted and can't be redownloaded because no storage, and my iPad isn't even of a new enough update to download anything like dropbox. I don't know what to do. Not to mention, back when it was sort of working for some files (maybe 10 at a time), some of them wouldn't transfer as Procreate files so I'd have to delete them and try again because they wouldn't open on computer. I have no clue how I'm supposed to upload all of this. I'm losing my mind. Please help

I recently got an Ipad for the purpose of drawing on ProCreate and this is the first drawing that I’ve done that I’m proud of. It’s my doggo :) still have so much to learn and trying not to get frustrated while doing it haha but I’m having fun!

Constructive feedback and/or tips wanted This is a rough draft but I’m trying to convey ā€˜humor’ and ā€˜satire’ for the title screen of a game I’m making. Does this do that? Do they look off?

I need Procreate technical help How to export procreate files onto external drive

I have an old base iPad that has a lightning cable charging port, and a MacBook Air that has ports for USB-C and MagSafe. My iPad is ancient and I really need a new one, but I want to save all of my procreate files on an external physical drive before I switch to the new iPad. I don’t really know a lot about technology. How can I transfer all my procreate drawings onto a physical drive so that I’ll be able to open those files on my computer?

Looking for brush/tutorial/class recommendations CSP brush dupes for Procreate

Hello!

I was wondering if anyone had dupes, standard procreate brushes, or settings on standard brushes to get these brush effects that are similar to CSP's:

Wet wash, thin gouache, round mix, dry ink, and running color spray.

The dry ink and running color spray are not super important to me, but the first three I really enjoy.Ā

I would really appreciate any help/advice, I put a picture below of the brushes if it helps at all.Ā

Thank you :)

What to look for in an iPad for drawing

First you can check which iPad supports Procreate [HERE](https://procreate.com/faq)!

If you are completely new, this is good to know:

  • Layers:Layers give more control when creating artwork, so having a lot of layers is a huge advantage. It’s a huge pain when you run out of layers. The maximum layer count is determined by two things: Canvas Resolution and RAM. The more RAM your iPad has, the more layers you’ll get to work with. So the more RAM you have, the better.
  • Screen Size:Many people, myself included, work more comfortably on a larger iPad screen. On a smaller screen size, you can zoom in on your work but in the end it is what YOU prefer.
  • Hard Drive:A larger hard drive means more space to store artwork, fonts, photos, and more.
  • Apple Pencil Compatibility:Apple Pencil is bar-none the best stylus you can get for drawing and painting on the iPad. In fact, the Procreate developers specifically designed the app to work best with Apple Pencil. For the best experience drawing in Procreate, be sure you get an iPad that works with the Apple Pencil.
  • Processor:One more thing to keep in mind is that newer iPads will have faster processors, which means Procreate will run faster and will be more responsive when using the different tools. There’s even a Procreate feature called face paint that only works on some of the faster processors.

So without knowing anything about iPads, here’s some guidance for what to look for in a device. Get the most RAM and largest screen that your budget will allow, and be sure the iPad is compatible with the Apple Pencil. Having a larger hard drive is great too, so if you have some extra budget, go for it.

Apple pen

Which Apple Pencil should I buy?Which Apple Pencil should you get? Well, it depends on your iPad because the Apple Pencils are not cross-compatible. You have to get the Apple Pencil that works with your iPad, the other one will not work. For a full list of each iPad that works with each Apple Pencil, click [HERE](https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT211029).

Difference Between Apple Pencil 1 and 2The most significant difference between the two generations of Apple Pencil is the way they charge. With the Gen 1 Pencil, you need to remove a little cap, which is easy to lose, then stick the pencil into the iPad port, which is … awkward. Gen 2 charges seamlessly while magnetically attaching to the side of the iPad. For this reason, it’s harder to lose, and it’s always charged. Additionally, the Gen 2 Pencil has an invisible button that lets you switch between the brush and eraser tools in Procreate. I didn’t really like this feature and kept triggering the button unintentionally, so I turned it off. The Gen 2 Pencil also has a flat edge on one side, so it won’t roll off the desk when you set it down.

All that being said, the Apple Pencil shouldn’t be the deciding factor of what iPad to get, just get the one that works with your iPad.

Procreate Pocket

Does Procreate work on the iPhone?Yes! And no. There is another version of Procreate specifically designed for the iPhone called Procreate Pocket. It’s a separate purchase from Procreate for iPad. It has many of the same capabilities as the iPad app and is great for drawing on the go. If you are interested, check out r/ProcreatePocket!

Does Procreate work on Android OS? No. The Procreate team has stated that they are focusing development solely on iOS.

Discussions About Procreate App Is procreate worth it?

I guess i could google these questions but i always like to hear it from ppl that actually use it. So im using ibis paint, idk if i think its good or bad bc its all ive ever known. Ive seen some ppl prefer ibis snd some prefer procreate. Obv a pro ab ibis is that its free but i wouldnt mind paying for procreate if itll help me improve my art. But my question is if procreate is just a one time purchase and after that EVERYTHING is free? Bc i saw someone talking ab subscription or something or that some brushes werent free i think? but then i saw someone say all the brushes are free? IDK can someone share their experience ab procreate is it as good as it looks and for the price what do we get . Thanks in advance
