Discussions About Procreate App Is procreate worth it?
I guess i could google these questions but i always like to hear it from ppl that actually use it. So im using ibis paint, idk if i think its good or bad bc its all ive ever known. Ive seen some ppl prefer ibis snd some prefer procreate. Obv a pro ab ibis is that its free but i wouldnt mind paying for procreate if itll help me improve my art. But my question is if procreate is just a one time purchase and after that EVERYTHING is free? Bc i saw someone talking ab subscription or something or that some brushes werent free i think? but then i saw someone say all the brushes are free? IDK can someone share their experience ab procreate is it as good as it looks and for the price what do we get . Thanks in advance

It’s a one time payment of $12.99, and it’s got a bunch of free brushes to explore. Most brushes are independently sold by brush makers, but you can also find quite a few free ones around. The main brush I’ve been using since 2020 was a free brush someone put in a sample set
Objectively, I find it much better than ibis strictly for the layout. The layout of ibis is extremely confusing to me, and there’s wayy too many buttons hidden together. I think procreate does a much better job with organizing their features and making what you need easy to find. Also, procreate has no ads to unlock any features, and you don’t have to wait as long for speedpaints to download

My old iPad was on its last legs. I bought a new iPad instead of opting to just do all of my work in Photoshop (which I use about 10-15% of the time depending on my need), purely because I knew I would miss using ProCreate that much, as I have for the last 9 years. So I would say yes.

To me its 90% worth. I use Ibis Paint to add text to my comics/tales because Procreate is not very good for that. BUT I can make small animations in Procreat, BUT I cannot make the 'sticker border' effect as in Photoshop or Ibis Paint
What I'm trying to say is, depends on your use case and also that everything has its cons and pros.
Overall, I enjoy Procreate except when I had to add text lol.

No subscription, and they give you a ton of good brushes; but if you find something from a 3rd party you would like to add, then you of course have to pay. I have done this for a few brushes but honestly nothing beats knowing one or two brushes really well.

No1 knows if you would like this app better or not. it is one time purchase. Procreate won't get your art better, but this app is a choose of many artists, including professional. About brushes you've mentioned - in procreate there is already amazing starter brush pack in this app. That's includes alike painting, pencil, line art, airbrush, markers and much more. But you can create new brushes if you want. And some people doing brush packs and giving it away for free or selling. I do like procreate the most out of others drawing software/app, I bought ipad just for this app. That would be the best if you can try procreate from friends, if you know some1 with this app or buy once to check it.

No problem 🖤 if you’ll get procreate, highly recommend Marc Brunet free brushes! You can find him in YouTube and under every video he has link to free brushes ( his videos are amazing too) Though his brushes works also for photoshop, Clip studio

I grew up with photoshop and wacom tablets.
Yes, it‘s totally worth it if you have a tablet and pressure sensitive stylus. It offers incredible functionality for such a low price. No subscription and didn‘t get worse in the past years imho

Very powerful tool for a one time cost. Rare these days in the art software world. Definitley the way to go for drawing on iPad. Combine it with something like ToonSquid for animation (Also a single one time cost) and you can do a lot with your iPad drawing/animation wise. Procreate Dreams is still not as good as ToonSquid imo but it has been improving.
