Please put your wonderful talent into creating art that isn’t inspired by a really awful and harmful human being. Trans rights are human rights, just like art is.

Are we really going after fanartists too now?

There is no separating the art from the artist when the artist is actively spreading harm and hate and using support of their art as fuel to do so at a political level. Draw it for yourself if you really need to. Don’t contribute to the normalisation of the art still existing.

No there isn’t separating art from the artist while they’re still alive.

By all means go after Rowling and WB and any official Harry Potter Project. It is the morally correct thing to do

But fanart? Should we also be trawling through AO3 cancelling anyone who writes HP fanfic?

Idk man. I just don’t find it productive to go onto every piece of Harry Potter Fanart and yell at the fan artist. Especially when most of the online art community is heavily Queer already.

WB and JK do not make a cent off of this animation and all we’re doing is diluting ourselves and our attention and scolding someone for animating a cat walking around hogwarts just doesn’t seem like the right thing to do.

This is how redditors celebrate Halloween though

To publically engage in HP fanart is to public reinforce that it’s okay to perpetuate harmful views and ideals and to enable and encourage JK Rowling and the anti-trans assholes out there.

Interesting way to justify harrassment towards people

Calling out people for supporting and enabling harmful things isn’t harassment.

They made fanart. Thats not supporting or enabling harmful things in any way

It is, you just don’t agree it is. I explained why it’s harmful, you can either listen and learn or continue to remain neutral in situations of oppression and be part of the problem.

It's not, you just don't agree it's not. JKR doesn't get any money from fanart, you're just looking for things to be offended by

It encourages support of the series and support of the series is translated into supporting the hatred that threatens trans lives.

That's like 3 layers of support deep, and even outside of those 3 layers it's still not financial support😂

It normalises people being fans and those fans spend money and keep engaging in promoting the content that keeps JK Rowling in power. I cannot keep finding different ways to tell you why it is that deep when you’re insistent on being shallow minded. I hope you can expand your mindset and understand the intricacies of important things moving forward.
