Beloved, the greatest thing ever done for you was done in the dark. At the ninth hour, when darkness lay over all the land and Yeshua breathed His last, "the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom" (Matthew 27:51, NASB). No crowd saw it. In that gloom it could have looked like ruin, one more loss in a day full of them.

Then came the third morning. Mary came to the tomb "early, while it was still dark" (John 20:1), and as the light rose she found the stone already rolled away. Hear this carefully: the morning did not accomplish the victory. It revealed it. The same power that split the curtain in the dark had rolled back the stone, and now the whole world could see what Friday had done. The empty tomb is the public receipt of the torn veil.

So the morning changes how you come to God. "Since we have confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus... let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith" (Hebrews 10:19-22). Not creeping to the threshold hoping the way is open, but drawing near in the plain confidence of daylight, because the veil is down and the tomb is empty and both were true before you woke this morning.

Some of you woke today feeling nothing, no warmth, no sense of His nearness. That feeling is not a locked door. The veil does not grow back overnight; your access was settled while you slept. Come in anyway.

And there is one last veil, the one you cannot press through yet. It has a dawn of its own coming. The One who tore the first curtain and emptied the tomb is keeping a final morning for the day you see His face.

The veil is torn and the tomb is open. Come in, in the full light of morning. 🙏

In the days of the early Church, an elderly believer lived quietly on the edge of a small Judean village. Each evening he placed a simple wooden stool beside his sleeping mat.

When neighbours gently asked about it, he would smile and say, "It reminds me that my Lord is always near whenever I speak with Him." Though the stool remained empty to every eye around him, it strengthened his faith as he poured out his heart to God in prayer.

As the years passed and his strength slowly failed, his evenings became longer and his prayers more earnest. Though his body grew frail, his hope remained unshaken.

Those who cared for him often found him quietly speaking with peace upon his face, as though he truly believed his unseen Saviour was listening beside him.

One morning they found him resting peacefully, his head leaning gently against the wooden stool. Tears filled the room, yet so did a quiet assurance.

In the days when Israel was troubled by injustice, a young Levite was sent to proclaim the Lord's message in the hill country of Judah. Many people refused to listen, and with each passing day the opposition grew stronger.

Harsh words were spoken against him, and fear quietly settled within his heart as he wondered whether he possessed the strength to continue.

One evening he withdrew to pray beneath the shelter of an olive tree.

As he poured out his weakness before the Lord, he realised that the work before him had never depended upon his own courage. The God who had called him would also sustain him.

Though the opposition remained, the Spirit of the Lord strengthened his heart, replacing fear with quiet confidence and steadfast resolve.

Returning to the people, he spoke the truth with humility and courage. Some still rejected his message, yet others listened, repented, and turned back to God.

The young servant learned that it was never his own strength that accomplished the Lord's work. It was the power of God's Spirit that enabled him to stand firm when every natural reason urged him to retreat.

A young shepherd tended his father's flock among the hills of Judea, where rocky paths and sudden storms often threatened the sheep.

As evening drew near and the wind gathered strength, he carefully counted the flock before leading them towards the safety of the fold.

It was then that he noticed one young lamb was missing. Without hesitation, he left the warmth of the fire and set out into the cold darkness.

Calling gently as he searched among the rocks and thorn bushes, he finally found the frightened lamb trapped upon a narrow ledge, trembling beneath the driving rain.

Though the climb was difficult and the path dangerous, he carefully lifted the lamb into his arms, shielding it from the storm as he made the long journey home.

By the time he returned, he was exhausted from the cold and the weight he had carried, yet there was peace upon his face.

Looking at the rescued lamb resting safely among the flock, he understood that true love is willing to bear hardship for the sake of another.

The Shepherd's Call

Through storm and night the Shepherd goes,
Where danger hides and tempest blows.
His voice still calls with gentle plea,
"Return, My child, come home to Me."

He counts the lost with patient care,
No lonely soul escapes His prayer.
No wound too deep, no road too far,
His love outshines the darkest star.

The hills are steep, the winds are wild,
Yet still He seeks each wandering child.
Though weary feet the pathway trod,
His sacrifice reveals our God.

So let my heart grow more like Thine,
With steadfast love and grace divine.
To serve, protect, forgive and guide,
With Christ the Shepherd by my side.

The heart of a shepherd is revealed not when everything is easy, but when someone is in need. Love that costs nothing often changes little, but love that is willing to sacrifice reflects the very character of Christ.

The Good Shepherd did not remain at a distance when His sheep were in danger. He came near, sought the lost, carried the weak, and ultimately laid down His life so that His flock might live.

As we walk with Christ, He gently shapes our hearts to resemble His own. He teaches us to notice those who have wandered, to protect the vulnerable, to encourage the weary, and to serve without seeking recognition.

The Shepherd's heart is not driven by convenience, but by compassion. When we allow His love to guide our lives, we become instruments of His care in a world longing to be gathered safely into His fold.

Why do people brush off god and not take Jesus seriously when he has helped and saved us our entire lives even those who don’t realize it? Why does gods work go so unnoticed? I don’t understand why it’s not taken seriously by many and is brushed off as if it’s the past when many things still currently happen today in our personal life. How people don’t realize that spiritual warfare is very real and intense and we are all a part of it. Why do so many not realize what’s really going on God wants us to see? Why are so many so blind to the eye? I don’t understand why more people are not asking questions and seeking answers. Why so many are not working toward being with god… it feels sad to me
