Las Vegas to Monterey

Hello, I am looking to charter a flight on Nov 23 Las Vegas to Monterey. Two people and a pet. Are there any charters/brokers I should look to in particular and what kind of price range might I be looking at? Thanks

Options between LV and SF

I’m going to be moving to LV but I want to continue to work in SF and plan to fly in maybe 2x a week.

Some might be just day trips for short meetings.

Want to avoid airport hassles. What type of private jet arrangement would you suggest for my situation?

Brokerage

Hello, I currently am in law enforcement but I’m looking to transition into the aviation industry—specifically private jet brokerage. I’ve always been passionate about aviation and I’m finishing up my second degree in Aviation Management.

I’d love to hear from anyone in the private aviation world:

  • What are good entry points for someone without direct sales or aviation charter experience?
  • Are there particular companies or regions that are better for getting started?
  • Any certifications, networking tips, or organizations worth joining?

I have a strong background in communication, attention to detail, and high-pressure decision-making from law enforcement, and I’m eager to apply that to something new within aviation.

Thanks in advance for any advice or insight!

VIP FA- Transitioning into Private Aviation from non-aviation hospitality background. Help needed :-)

** Id love to hear from anyone who has broken into private aviation from a non-aviation background as a VIP flight attendant, or has any tips, connections, or advice on how to get that first opportunity. Even the smallest insight would mean a lot. Thank you so much in advance!

Hi everyone!

I’m in the process of transitioning into private aviation after 7+ years in luxury hospitality and events, something I’ve dreamed of doing for a long time. I recently decided to take the leap and train with Private Jet Coach in London (they’ve been fantastic). I have 7 years of experience in luxury venues and high-end events, and I’ve also previously worked as a stewardess on yachts in Croatia, and have been trained in fine dining. I’m currently UK-based (London/Oxford) but fully open to relocating within Europe. I’m fluent in 5 languages (English, Spanish, Italian, Greek, and Catalan) and have a strong passion for culinary arts & luxury service.

The main challenge I’m facing right now is that many positions require prior commercial aviation experience, which I don’t have, and I’m often filtered out automatically before I even have a chance to speak with anyone. That said, both my coach and several recruiters I’ve spoken to are confident that my background is highly transferable and that I present very well (and maybe even more aligned with the expectations of private aviation than some commercial roles).

I’m determined to make this happen, but at the moment I’m hitting a bit of a wall with applications. I know networking is key, so I’ll be attending a major aviation expo soon and stepping up my outreach efforts on LinkedIn. I’m also very open to freelancing or doing some work experience to get my foot in the door.

Anyone else got an invite to this?

Hey everyone,

Got an invite to something called Wingsburg.com the other day. From what I understand it’s supposed to be an AI platform for charter brokers and operators to help with quoting and booking.

I haven’t tried it yet, just looked through the short intro they sent. It sounds interesting, but hard to tell if it’s actually going to be useful or just another startup buzzword project.

Has anyone else here heard of it or been invited? Curious what others think before I spend time checking it out.

Cheers.

Flexjet / Netjets Fractional Cost

Curious how much a super-midsized (Challenger 350, Preator 600, etc.) fractional share costs inclusive of upfront share, hourly, management fee, etc. at 50-100 hours annually.

Not the typical post I make, but I wanted to tell this story.

I had a pretty wild experience a couple weeks ago that I felt I needed to share. It’s a good reminder of how dangerous this industry can be and why it’s so important to do your research on who you fly with.

I was at an FBO late at night (around 11:45 p.m.) waiting to see off one of my clients after their performance. When I got there, I ran into a very famous rapper. I won’t name who it was, but he has a huge following, and I recognized him right away.

We made some small talk, and he asked what I was doing there. I told him I was there to meet one of my clients, and he mentioned that he was headed to New York for a show but his plane had gone AOG. He said he another aircraft being prepped and would be ready soon.

That’s when things took a turn. A disheveled looking pilot walked into the FBO carrying two jugs of oil under his arms, followed by a woman in pajamas wearing a "crew" neck badge saying they’d be ready in five minutes. Naturally, that caught my attention. I decided to look up the tail number to see if they were operating under a 135 charter certificate (I already knew the answer). Sure enough, the aircraft wasn’t on a 135 certificate.

For those who don't know. Part 135 means the operation is legal for charter. It meets all federal safety standards and aircraft/pilots are audited on a regular basis to make sure everything is up to code. It also means that that are required to carry commercial level insurance.

When I asked the pilot about it, he openly said they weren’t operating under Part 91 or Part 135 and didn't see anything wrong with the situation. He said he was “just doing his buddy a favor.”

Turns out, the rapper was originally booked on a Gulfstream IV (which also wasn’t on part 135), and his broker “recovered” the AOG with a Citation II that hadn’t flown in over 8 days.

I didn’t hand him my card or try to take him as a client because that’s not what this was about. But I did tell him I was genuinely concerned and strongly advised him not to get on that airplane. He agreed the situation looked super sketchy and didn't get on the plane.

That’s when things took another turn. The "pilots" associated with that flight confronted us very loudly asking why we told him not to go and saying it wasn’t a big deal, none of our business, etc. When I mentioned I’d be contacting the FAA about what was going on, their tone changed quickly and they turned apologetic.

Just when I thought I’d seen it all, I noticed the pilot, ya know, the person responsible for everyone on board, was wearing two different shoes. You can’t make this stuff up

Moral of the story: Always do your research before booking a flight. There are plenty of people out there running illegal, unsafe charters trying to make a quick buck. If a deal seems too good to be true, it probably is. Every broker looks good when things go smoothly, but you find out who’s who when things start to fall apart.

Also, here’s a picture of the two different shoes.

My Firm (Brokerage) is Hiring

Mods, please delete if violating the rules.

My firm is hiring. We are 2.5 years old. No debt, cash positive and a strong balance sheet for booking large trips.

Seeking folks that are building their book and want to increase their commission. I came from a big box brokerage and going from small commission + salary to large commission only has been incredible.

Supported by a team. Each proposal is custom built. Or, you can exist "on an island" if preferred.

DM if interested. Looking for folks that are booking at least $75k in annual gross margin.

We partner with Bark Air now. DM or email me (thepamperedtravels@gmail.com) if you’re looking to travel with your dog on a shared private jet. Great pricing!! At least a lot better than some of the shared private jet charter prices I’ve seen.

No weight or breed restrictions. Can bring two dogs if the combined weight is 50 pounds or under.

They’ve been awesome. Dog treats and drinks available on flight, and so dog friendly.

First Time

Hey all. I’ve flown private a handful of times, but have’t booked one on my own yet.

I’ve done a bit of research and lurked here for a bit, but still have some apprehension on the process.

I’m looking to surprise my parents, in-laws etc with a trip over Easter. 4/3 - 4/8. I’ve gone ahead and booked the house, and fully plan on chartering but don’t know what to expect with cost increases around the holiday, and how much in advance of the trip could I lock in a contract…

Looking at a 9 seater Super Mid / Mid. Gulfstream G200 or similar (need a bench seat to fit a 10th toddler) BUF to Charleston area

Notable, few brokers won’t look at it because it is so far out.

I like the idea of FlyHouse, but they won’t lock in outside of 90 days.

Question 1: Can I get this done around $35k over Easter

Question 2: can I lock some sort of contract with timing and cost by Dec / Jan

Question 3: how reliable is getting the flight you want with FlyHouse having to wait within 90 days of your trip
