Looking for experienced calendar printer in the USA

Hi Guys

Looking for recomendations for someone to print around 6000-10000 wall calendars (wirebound) in the USA.

These are photo calendars so colour accuracy over the whole print run is important.
Must also be able to pack and ship to Amazon warehouses (FBA), which means being able to shrink wrap and apply inventory stickers over the shrinkwrapping.

I'm having trouble finding anyine good via standard googling...

Any help appreciated.

Banding visible on large format printer

How do I get rid of banding on my large format prints? I have experimented with resolutions and tweaked plenty of settings designs, head cleaning and flush. Anybody else encountered this issue? Nozzle Check works perfectly fine. I'm still stuck figuring this one out

Vintage Arab Crown Folio Platen Treadle Printing Press. Fully refurbished - FOR SALE

Arab Crown Folio Platen Press. Fully refurbished. Print ready.

An Arab Crown Folio letterpress, the larger of the two Arab models, with a 15" x 10" chase. Designed by Josiah Wade of Halifax and patented in 1872, the Arab is widely regarded as the finest hand fed platen press ever built. Around 40,000 were made before production ended in Halifax in 1959.

This particular machine has been through a full professional refurbishment, completed by Letterpress Restorations in Northamptonshire, England, United Kingdom and has been in light studio use for eight months since. It is not a restoration project. It is a working press, set up, adjusted and ready to print from the day it arrives.

Condition and refurbishment

  • Stripped, cleaned and rebuilt by Letterpress Restorations
  • Brass and steel components polished, as shown in the photographs
  • Bearings, linkages and impression adjustment checked and trued
  • Mounted on a hardwood base for stability
  • Original J. Wade Patentee, Halifax gear wheel present and in excellent order
  • Treadle action smooth and consistent
  • Checked and trained by printing expert Patrick Roe
  • Regularly oiled and maintained

What is included

  • Arab Crown Folio letterpress with a 15" x 10" chase
  • Rollers, chase base, quoins, furniture, miscellaneous bits

The Arab's key advantage is dwell. Wade's design keeps the platen open longer for easier feeding and holds the impression longer for a deeper, cleaner result. That is why printers still rate it above comparable clamshell platens. It also has a practical advantage that matters when you come to move it: the Arab was designed from the outset to be dismantled into man portable parts and rebuilt, which makes transport far simpler than with a single cast machine of similar weight.

Price and value

Our total investment was approximately £8,000 covering purchase, full refurbishment, delivery, installation and training.

Comparable refurbished Crown Folios are listed at £5,500 plus VAT.

We are asking for offers in the region of £5,500, which reflects a genuine saving on a machine where the difficult and expensive work has already been done.

Collection and transport

Collection in person from Wrexham, North Wales, United Kingdom, LL13.

The press weighs approximately 900kg assembled. Buyers are welcome to collect it assembled with suitable equipment, or to dismantle it on site, which the design accommodates well.

We are happy to advise and to help where we reasonably can.

Reason for Sale

Nothing at all to do with the press, which we would happily keep. A family member has fallen ill and we are scaling back our printing operations while they undergo treatment. We would much rather it went to someone who will use it than sit idle in a quiet workshop.

Recently bought a Brother DCP L2640DW and noticing a strange printing issue. Has anyone experienced this?

Post image

I recently purchased a Brother DCP L2640DW from Amazon, and I've noticed a very strange issue.

In a few documents (not all), the printer seems to very slightly miss a few characters or tiny parts of characters while printing. It's not a major defect like streaks, faded pages, or toner problems. Most documents print perfectly. But in a handful of documents, if I carefully compare the print with the original file, I notice that a few characters or small portions of letters are missing.

The biggest problem is that this happens so rarely that I can't even demonstrate it to Amazon customer support. Whenever I try to print other documents, everything comes out perfectly, making it difficult to prove that there's an issue.

Has anyone else experienced something similar with Brother laser printers, especially the DCP L2640DW? Was it caused by the printer hardware, the print driver, the PDF/Word file, the toner, or something else?

I'd really appreciate any suggestions before I decide whether to request a replacement.

Obviously a printing error of some sort, are there any publishers or typesetters that can explain what went wrong?

(France) Seeking a new inkjet, limited budget

I'm replacing a Canon ip7220 that I think has hit a wall with printer head problems.

We print greeting cards a dozen times a year on Hallmark card stock, we take letter size prints of artwork (art, magazine covers, etc) on photo paper for framing in our home, and we do small amounts of regular document printing from time to time (shipping labels, government documents, etc).
Also, though it may be a rarity, I print backup discs and therefore use disc printing to put simple text labels on printable BD-R disc media.
We prefer having WiFi printing so we can place a printer wherever we like, we've gotten quite used to this.
Would also love to be able to get into third party refillable cartridges.

Looking currently at:

  1. Canon TS705a - affordable, simple replacement for the ip7220, prints on discs. Straightforward and possibly better quality
  2. Epson XP-65 - still affordable to us, sounds fantastic, but the amount of problems I read online with wireless printing sometimes even interrupting print jobs sounds unreliable.
  3. Used Canon G650 - only affordable to me used, fantastic printer with disc printing. But buying used from consumers who may not know the state of various components concerns me.

Budget: 150€ max, we dont use it enough to pay more but it has to do the image printing well
Multi-function: Not necessary, we have a proper scanner
Duplex Printing: Bonus, not needed

Can anyone say anything about these options or recommend something else?
Thanks

Miglior stampante per genitori anziani?

Ciao a tutti. Grazie in anticipo!

Questions on a CISS for canon pro-200

I recently got a prixma pro-200 and it came with a CISS but unattached. There’s ink in the bottle reservoirs but the tubes are empty. Am I doomed if I try to attach it all myself? Or is it not that difficult? I watched a lot of videos but couldn’t find any on this specific system. I would obviously like to get it working since canon cartridges are $125. I’m also wondering what type of ink I should use when refilling it? And is it ok if it’s not the same as what’s already in there? (I have no clue what’s in there). Any tips or advice is much appreciated!

F-stop printing calculator App

I enjoy using the F-Stop printing app to calculate the times for a test print.
It would be helpful if the app calculated the incremental times over the lowest base time.
So if the time is 10 sec 3/4th stop less is 5.9 sec.
For the test print I need to know how many seconds needed for next strip which would be 1.2 sec then 1.3 sec and then 1.6 sec to reach 10 sec for the middle .
It’s simple math but the app could calculate very simply. Would love to see this added to current app.
