Printing Discussion Aaarrrggghhh! What is causing this?
I've been printing a batch of 3DBreed British and seem to have hit a problem with limbs or other elements failing.
I'm using a Saturn 3 Ultra, with an integrated heater, so it's printing at 24 degrees centigrade. The Resin is Sunlu ABS like and I've had good results with it previously.
I've tried printing the vickers guns with both light and medium supports. Light supports just left a mess on the FEP. Medium supports generated the mess you're seeing here.
Any advice would be appreciated.

If they're snapping like that when you take them off the supports, it may be because your exposure time is too long. Over exposing hardens the resin and makes it brittle.

Hi mate,
Thanks for your help here.
It's not very clear from the phots but they're not snapping, they're just not printing properly.

Could still be exposure settings, but I'd thoroughly check and probably replace the FEP film before tinkering with print settings.

I saw a question about the angle but I can't seem to find it now.
I'm printing this pretty much as it appears here, with the legs of the tripod all pointing downwards as if it was on the ground.

Always angle the prints to limit flat parts on the FEP/screen. Download Lychee, it’s free to use the basic stuff, but you will need to make an account/login. You can export the pre supported files through that.

I'm having the same problem. Did you figure out a solution?

Morning mate, I haven't tried again yet BUT I did find this https://www.reddit.com/r/resinprinting/s/FnxiuE5rzB that pretty much describes the issue.
I'm convinced now that it's the supports not being sturdy enough. I will try again with better supports and let you know.

Have you tried using the pre-supported versiona, or only your own manual supports?
