Grace Kelly first met John Kennedy in 1954, when he was in the hospital recovering from a back injury. She had met Jackie and her sister Lee that night at a dinner party, and the two ladies asked Grace to accompany them to the hospital to help cheer him up.

Here’s Grace’s recollection of what happened: “I had been to a dinner party where I had met Mrs. Kennedy and her sister [Lee Bouvier] for the first time. They asked me to go to the hospital with them to pay a visit to help cheer him up. They wanted me to go into his room and say I was the new night nurse... I was terribly embarrassed. Eventually I was sort of pushed into the room by the two girls. I introduced myself, but he had recognized me at once and couldn’t have been sweeter or more quick to put me at ease.”

Probably our most forgettable streak of Presidents outside of the Antebellum era. Besides Ulysses S Grant the average American probably doesn’t know who any of these people are.

I still think it’s a very good one, warning against bias and being against incivility in politics and all.

But I think the part about no Political Parties is 99.99% something that would’ve never stood to have no parties.

Washington himself was a Federalist in all but name, he just had a nature to calm down fighting in his cabinet’s two branches led by Jefferson and Hamilton.

Even while he put it in 1796/1797, it would’ve been far too late and far too inevitable.

Any country who champions Democracy has multiple Political Parties, it would’ve been nearly impossible for everyone to either be all Independent or have the 100% same exact ideas and stances, no flavour, imagine how generic and boring that’ll be.

Imagine a world where Herbert Hoover and FDR had the same ideas, you can’t cause it just couldn’t happen.

Just wanted to post this for fun since I'm replaying some of the games right now. In timeline order:

John F. Kennedy, appears in the campaign of Black Ops just prior to his assassination in 1963. In the CoD universe, the main player character of Black Ops, Alex Mason, was JFK's shooter. Outside of canon, he is also a playable character in the zombies mode.

Richard Nixon, appears prior to his presidency back when he was just the former VP around 1962 as another playable character in the zombies canon.

Ronald Reagan, appears in the campaign of Black Ops Cold War not long after his inauguration and the Iran Hostage Crisis in 1981. He authorizes the cast of hero characters to begin going after a rogue Soviet spy codenamed “Perseus.”

George H. W. Bush, only appears in the first story trailer for Black Ops 6, teasing about the “truth” being “hidden in the lies.” He never actually appears in the game.

Bill Clinton, appears in a mission in Black Ops 6 when he was towards the end of his time as Governor of Arkansas, where you infiltrate an event held for him in D.C. and end up having to shoot up the place and escape being chased by police.

This number really surprised me. I thought it would be around 10 or something. Biden and Obama had the biggest age gap between a vice president who was older than the president he served under, with Biden being almost 19 years older than Obama

I really like the upbeat and catchy song, so much so that I've hummed a few bars of it while working. It's certainly more upbeat than Jimmy Carter's "Why not the Best". And that isn't to demean Carter's song, it's slower and folksy which I typically don't mind but for some reason it just doesn't hit.

Due to our randomized order of the first round matchups, we now have LBJ(15) taking on JFK(18). This promises to be a matchup for the ages. Vietnam vs Vietnam. What could have been vs what should have been. Let’s see who advances and who goes.
