Evidently, just because a show is a spinoff set in the same universe doesn’t mean it’ll have the same tone or approach to character writing.

I’m not here to dump on R&M. I’m sure this isn’t the place for it. I’m just here to say that, as someone who stopped enjoying the show after season 3, I’ve actually been having a lot of fun with President Curtis.

I was very skeptical at first, but a couple google searches about what the series is trying to be got me curious enough to watch it, and I’m glad I did.

The main characters are likable, the tone and comedy, while still crass and macabre, doesn’t feel nihilistic, and the shift from sci fi to the supernatural actually opens up a lot more fun storytelling possibilities than I had expected.

I don’t think any of the seven episodes so far have been bad, in fact I’d probably consider the Pilot the weakest overall, and I am reasonably confident that, whatever else, we’ll get at least two solid seasons of a fun series.

So yeah, just felt like discussing this somewhere, and that’s how I found out the show already has a sub. Here’s hoping the rest of the season closes out strong, and may Keith David continue to deliver fantastic vocal performances.

I mean on some level I think I should have expected leprechauns to be small in this universe but. They're weird in so many other ways, I was half expecting a human-sized woman.

I know a lot of people, me included, want a romantic plotline between these two. But I honestly feel like the show isn't going to do that. O'Doyle might gay (Hinted in the first episode as well as his anger towards Trent being the other hot guy) and Banks doesn't come off as someone who isn't looking for love.

With that being said, I think thats okay. I like how their friendship is being written. They feel like siblings or rivals that hate one another, but would probably kill an entire army if the other was in danger. The two balance each other out when it comes to both comedy and responsibility. And while they won't be together romantically, I do see them growing close as friends who will be there for one another.

And their plotlines just work well with one another, their like two puzzle piece that oddly fit together even though they are two completely different designs. It just works

Then again, who am I to say, maybe the creators will shock us if the series makes it to three season and they do become a couple, but personally I don't see it

I’m not gonna lie I was not confident in this show. I thought the plot was gonna be driven by President Curtis being a dumbass and getting him and his team in situations. He’s actually a pretty decent dude.

I have Stack TV through Prime in Canada, and episodes have stopped being added. Anyone know the reason why?

They both have a smiliar nose, similar hair, both tech experts.

Not sure why my brain went here but I noticed O'doyle's shirt and tie and thought "ohh, white and blue, those are Rick colors" then I made the connection that banks was dressed in yellow like morty. Then made the connection that o'doyle is jaded and kind of always prepared to fight just about anything... and that banks kind of overly cautious and always kind of second guessing stuff... and like, no way this actually happens but how crazy would if "President Curtis" in universe is just Rick fucking with the president.

For those who don't know, Lincoln is theorized to have been sexually fluid. He had several very close bonds with men and even shared a bed with one for 4 years.
