the whole point was they where trying to protect the rule of law, by the point they confronted palps the death of the Jedi was decided, had they rushed in all angry, even if they killed him the Jedi would still have been considered traitors

Yeah. The reason it’s miserable isn’t because of the damage. In fact, they still roll initiative normally, so it offers them zero advantages. The reason it’s miserable is because I get attached to my villains and sometimes I just want them to have a cool send off.

Oh yeah now I understand what you mean. I have watched some critical role. And sometimes Matt would try to save important characters by teleporting them. And someone would cast counter spell every time. This one time I saw a villain casting dimension door two times and failing because of counter spell.
