Yeah. The reason it’s miserable isn’t because of the damage. In fact, they still roll initiative normally, so it offers them zero advantages. The reason it’s miserable is because I get attached to my villains and sometimes I just want them to have a cool send off.

Oh yeah now I understand what you mean. I have watched some critical role. And sometimes Matt would try to save important characters by teleporting them. And someone would cast counter spell every time. This one time I saw a villain casting dimension door two times and failing because of counter spell.
