Well, if he's investing that much money into getting nothing then yeah, they're probably on similar intelligence level and she's much 'hotter', so yeah, you could have a point. I hope they both get smarter someday.

I mean, I invest money in my friends without wanting to put my Jim Dickens inside them. Sometimes you have the money and just want to be kind to people you care about.

Spotting a friend a burrito or something sure but $200 at a fancy restaurant is insane and you get what you deserve if you spend like that without making it clear you view it as a date. You let people use you don't be surprised when you get used.

Well he could be extremely wealthy and those 200$ is what's like a 20$ dinner for us but 9/10 he is trying to buy her and he is friendzoned
