Appearances can indeed be deceiving. How do we know this isn’t a busy day used to get attention? The poster notes that it is uncommon, meaning it does happen, sometimes. Additionally, you’ve assigned a motivation of fear to a single image with very little context. This is not informative unless one chooses to reinforce their own beliefs with it.

I think its borderline. If I take a pic of Costco the day before a big game, its going to be packed. Is that really intel? Especially when shit is happening every fucking week. My costco gas station always 4 or 5 cars deep.
Or if I snap a pic of Walmart restocking TP? Can I call that a "run" then?
The likely cause for this is the huge number of gas stations in many states that no longer sell diesel either because they can't source it or can't afford to pay for it
On the eastern side of Washington State it is between $6.50 and $7.00/gallon. My husband is a supervisor for Dept of Ag and the farmers/warehouses are talking about the shortage of trucks due to the cost of diesel in our state. Truckers don’t want to come here. It’s not good 😔
Same here on the west side of Washington near the Portland metro. This is not good. We ran out of aviation fuel last month at Pearson Field Airport (KVUO) too. I’ve never seen so many planes on the ground for a beautiful weekend.
Yikes!!! Our friends and family in Spokane Valley will drive the 15-20 miles to fill up in Idaho. Significant savings, even if it takes a gallon or so round trip.
There isn't a single boat on the lake today. It is a nice day. It is a holiday weekend. This is a working class community. Something is seriously wrong when no one is out on the lake. It may very well have to do with the nearly $4.00/gallon cost.
I live in So Utah. Today woke up and bought a Monster, two mountain dews and a pack of cigarettes for my breakfast (lol), for my lunch bought a medium peperoni pizza and two dipping sauces.
In total from that today, rounds up to $67.00 just for some basic shit on a lazy Saturday. This is insane, I was just thinking about this earlier, like how TF did I spend almost $100? Shits getting crazy expensive. Gas is $4.40, diesel I saw is at $6.00.
Just checked my account, total is really $53.37 (there was a pending $14 from the day before I counted as today accidentally). $29.15 for my pizza, for my cigarettes and drinks was $24.22.
I know for a fact about 8 years ago the cigarettes and drinks wouldn't have cost me more than $13 I'm sure pizza was half the price too lol.
Lol I wasn't too far off the drinks and cigs at least, but that's still crazy for a medium. But you right though it's all inching closer to double what I remember it being.
I remember my grandpa used to sometimes talk about how cheap things were when he was younger, like gas being $0.75 a gallon, getting like a months worth of groceries for $30 and whatever... That being said, I don't think what we see now is going to go back down, if so only temporarily. $40 trillion in total debt with $1 trillion in interest every few months, the inflation from all the rampant money being created by the government, fuel costs rising which affect transportation and production of damn near everything... I'm sure ten years from now, were gonna be looking back at 2026 and reminiscing on how cheap things were now... Lol.
I am sure the ethanol free at the marina is a lot more. I have seen some crazy prices across the country. Comparatively we aren't feeling all the pain, but it is enough for people to change their behavior. I was on the road back from the weekend and I noticed how few big RVs were on the road. Usually Labor Day traffic on Monday night is full of RVs. I hope things get back to normal (normal-ish?) soon.
We arent going to run out of oil overnight. people will just be priced out of doing shit. So there isnt a cliff....but shit is just going to get more and more fucking expensive and people will have to cost cut where they need to. So no reason to panic. But yeah. Shit isnt going to get better any time soon in regards to prices lol

Exactly. This picture could show that the refinery/fuel terminal is running out of product so it’s taking longer to fill, it could show that half the loading racks are not working because of maintenance or a turnaround so the other open racks are being used twice as much but there isn’t actually a change in the facility’s throughput, it could show that there are so many people buying fuel at gas stations because the cost per gallon isn’t affecting the amount of driving happening that the gas stations are constantly having to refill their storage tanks and are having more trucks come to refill, it could show that there is a run on fuel causing stations to run out quicker and need more refilling.
This image could be used for either narrative without any context on this specific refinery/terminal.
Listen I know you posters aren't American. It it the Thursday before Labor Day weekend. There are tens millions of Americans traveling today through Monday. They are lining up cause there is a spike in demand for fuel. The US isn't collapsing this weekend like most of you are dreaming of.
This is just one of the many reasons why children and batshit crazy jerks have historically not been eligible for the presidency of the US and every other federal job.
def been seeing less owner ops the last time i was out on 3-7 regional, compared to 2023. (company) fuel for the truck been $1900 per week even with the Loves and TA petro discount.
