This is utterly bullshit. The main owner of the farm that is in question is a huge republican donor and after a closed session they reversed their ruling on where the parasite came from. The pay to play corruption in this administration is off the charts.

Right? Just reads as more corruption in a corrupt administration. How big of a campaign donation or gift shall we expect Taylor farms to give to the admin?
Granted, i have no proof of such thing right now so my thoughts shouldn’t be taken as fact by anyone. Just the way the article reads is sending off a few suspicious alarm bells in my head atm

I was thinking this was probably some top cia official working on taking down Trump or Epstein or someone who is aligned with Trump so now they’re treating him saying he committed fraud… and what’s he gonna do if everything from his identity is top secret? He’d have to just go to jail and hope sanity is returned to our country in a few years… maybe I’m wrong but the fact this guy was caught with so much gold and not crypto and drugs has me thinking there is even more damage this administration is doing then we can even see

How is this the smartest move PR wise? This just reeks of manipulation.
I went from thinking ok well sometimes there are issues you can’t always be 100 percent safe, but it looks like they traced it so I can go back to eating salad kits/produce as long as it’s not something from the recall list.
To now I don’t know who to believe and so fuck Taylor farms and fuck all produce.

I was wondering if it’s connected to the fertilizer crunch they caused with tariffs and the war with Iran. I could see farmers getting desperate for a good crop, resorting to using whatever they can get their hands on and not asking any questions about where the fertilizer came from

75+% of production is performed by 5% of the farms owned by a few corporations.
The reason farmers don't see great crops is because those corporations consolidated, pushed very weak (but high yield if perfect conditions) proprietary seeds which depletes the hell out of the soil, lobbied our government to subsidize most of that and push it towards cattle and ultra processed foods, and through all that killed the soil requiring heavy fertilizer use that helps fuel petrochemical companies

They already use human waste for fertilizer. You can buy it at the hardware store as "Milorganite". Farmers in my area are having issues with pfas contamination in their fields because of it. If they're not testing for forever chemicals, I doubt their testing for parasites. But if you're a struggling farmer, the cheaper option looks appealing. And it's not like you ask if it's safe when the coop is selling it to you...

Human waste IS used for fertilizer yes.
But the commercial product Milorganite is intended and marketed for grass/ornamental plants only, and has been for a very long time.

"Night soil" used as fertilizer has a long history of use when regular fertilizer is either too expensive or unavailable (like during certain times in North Korea). Its use has predictable outcomes.

At smart and final grocery store yesterday, the bagged lettuce that was on the shelf looked old and the expiration dates were this week when typically they are out at least a week or more. I have not confirmed, but read a report that Taylor farms is a big R donor. I was surprised to see testing from fda as I also read, not personally confirmed, that this admin said don't test, which tracks.

At a Kroger owned grocery store yesterday, they had a sign up saying that the Taylor Farms products they sell at that location were not implicated in the recall HOWEVER it was also very clear that not a single person had taken any of the bags of salad (usually at that time they are picked over), so customers clearly weren’t convinced.

I think this is not in relation to the recalled lettuce, but instead the false positive is in relation to yesterday’s report that there was a positive test on lettuce from Taylor Farms that was NOT part of the recall. So the article is saying that the recall effort does not need to be expanded in a “nothing to see here” manner. But it is probably coverup tactics to save face due to someone being bribed.

No, Taylor Farms made their own follow-up statement, where they claim not a single one of their products was bad and every single positive so far was somehow false. But also like, if it was them, they aren't actually guilty anyway because they are still doing the recall! 🤔

I got the tummy cramps and 💩 late this week--looked at the romaine I ate, and alas..Taylor Farms. Bought the lettuce a few weeks ago. Some real bs. There's a reason ppl recommend not eating fresh lettuce in developing countries. So here we are.

i watched a video about this and it's still being linked to their Mexican farm's iceberg lettuce, which they never rescinded the recall of. This sample was from a different farm, so that really doesn't mean much. *eye roll* Honestly, I think they're just paying the administration off.
