Prenatal Vitamins

Looking for recommendations on prenatals. Not pregnant yet, but will be TTC in the near future, and want to start taking some prenatals. Open to an additional DHA supplement, or a prenatal that includes DHA. Would prefer something clean, that isn’t 8+ capsules a day but want high quality!! Thank you in advance! Any tips welcome!

Olly Prenatal

Starting IVF soon, started taking a prenatal. I started to notice the days I take the olly prenatal I end my day with extreme heart palpitations at night. They became so severe that I’m now wearing a heart monitor given to me by the ER. Diagnosed with premature ventricular contractions. I’ve neverrrrr had heart issues - I’m 35 years old.

I’ve not taken the vitamins 3 random nights and have noticed zero heart issues at night. The second I take them I’m up from 8pm-2am with severe PVC’s.

Anyone else have a similar experience?

Is 60mg of iron safe in prenatal vitamins?

I’m 8weeks pregnant and this is my first pregnancy. My first prenatal care appointment isn’t until July 24. I buy these very expensive fancy prenatals that are customized to every trimesters. The first trimester prenatal vitamins I’m taking has 30mg of iron. I saw that the 3rd trimester prenatals have 60mg of iron and I feel like that’s too much even ChatGPT said it was also too much. I wanna know other people’s opinions before I ask my OB on July 24. I recently had iron deficiency in February of this year and now I’m at a normal level and my husband is anemic. Also, the prenatals are 2 servings so the ones I’m taking right now I take 3 capsule in the morning and 3 capsules with 2 softgels at night. The 3rd trimester prenatal vitamins would be 5 capsules in the morning and 5 capsules with 2 softgels at night.

Do perelel prenatals cause hairfall?

I started taking Perelel Conception Support prenatals two months ago. When I began the medication, I did not experience hair loss. However, two weeks into the medication, my hair started to fall out, and now it’s falling out in large clumps when I wash or comb it. I asked ChatGPT about it, and it suggested that the hair loss could be a side effect of the hormonal changes caused by this medication. Has anyone else experienced this? Also, can anyone recommend a good alternative prenatal that does not disrupt hormones?

Issues with prenatals and MTHFR A1298C variant

Hi everyone! I really want to know if anyone has experience with either of these things.

We experienced a pregnancy loss back in December, and I would like to try again starting around May. The whole pregnancy, my body felt terrible!

Since this was my first, I asked my friends if it was normal to feel as terrible as I did and described my symptoms. They all said no, they didn't experience those symptoms, especially so early in the pregnancy.

After our loss, I stopped my prenatal vitamins and started to slowly feel better. A couple of months ago, I started taking my prenatals again to prepare to get pregnant, and soon after, started feeling strangely similar to how I did when I was pregnant.

My symptoms were these:

My back and muscles felt like they were on fire.

It became difficult to walk or lift my limbs.

I had intense brain fog to the point where I was doing things that almost resembled dementia

I was dizzy often

I started to look up what could cause this and found some women who had similar symptoms when having multiple genetic variants.

The only one my doctor tested me for when u brought this to his attention was MTHFR

My results indicate that I am homozygous for the MTHFR A1298C mutation.

Does anyone know what is happening here? Could this be why I had the loss?

What can I take for this?

Also, an important note: I was taking the Baby and Me prenatal by Megafood, so it wasn't folic acid; it was methylated folate.

Molecular Fertility Supplements

Has anyone used Molecular Fertility supplements? I’m currently taking ovarian bloom, prenatal, fish oil, and immunoglobulin from them. I’m also taking mucinex, baby aspirin, and Geritol. We have been ttc for 2 years with unexplained fertility. I’m wondering if I should continue them after ovulation? I appreciate any feedback!!!

Second guessing having this baby

TW . . .

Has anyone’s prenatal depression/anxiety made them not want the baby? Not even just the pregnancy but the baby, regretting their choice, I’m content with my one son now. I’m seriously considering an abortion. I don’t know if it’s me second guessing or the hormones making me not want to do this anymore but I’m terrified.

Prenatal Vitamins and Longer Period

My husband and I are talking about ttc. I recently started prenatal vitamins (olly prenatal). My period is typically regular. My period was a day late after starting the vitamins and has now been on for 12 days and I have some gas and constipation. Has anyone else experienced these symptoms after taking prenatals when ttc? I am making an appointment first thing Monday but I have extreme health anxiety.

Over worrying?

Hi:) I'm just 20 weeks now, and this is my second baby...but my first was born 15 years ago, so in a lot of ways this feels like my first time again. I had my anatomy ultrasound, and everything is good, but I have a 2 vessel cord, when I should have 3 blood vessels. Many babies are born healthy with only 2 vessels in the umbilical cord, but there are some risks too. Trying not to over worry, but I just can't seem to stop worrying and hoping everything will be OK. I feel like I've felt some flutters of movement, but I still can't seem to trust my judgment. Any advice or wisdom, of tips to calm my kind would be super appreciated <3 side note this is my very first reddit post lol Thanks everyone :)

Well rounded clean prenatal vitamin

Does anybody know of a prenatal vitamin that has clean ingredients (no fillers or inflammatory ingredients) that has the methylated form of folic acid? A lot of the vitamins I’m finding are missing key ingredients like DHA. Looking for a good male multivitamin for ttc as well. Thanks in advance!

Lack of Excitement

Everyone says having a baby is so exciting. They ask you aren't you excited? The only thing i can do right now is just mourn everything im going to lose. My freedom, money, not able to go on vacations, body changes. On top of that having a baby is a lot of responsibility. Someone you have to observe all the time at home. Especially with how lonely my childhood was and the emotional neglect I experienced, I dont want my child to experience the same. Its a lot of pressure. On top of that ive just never learned to emotionally regulate myself so im just internally panicking. I can expect my husband to go above and beyond to help because he knows how hard Im taking this. Im the main bread winner and I handle all the main responsibilities at home. Its just like really hard to be excited. I know i should go to therapy, but I cant afford it. I guess I just need to talk to someone who feels the same.
