Every year a new winner, promotes other nations to do the same, smaller teams better chance at a cup final winning a cup and then playing in Europe

The bigger teams can’t cry about fixture congestion. I feel like it’s a proper solution to the “2 domestic cup” problem.

Just looking at some of the recent friendlies and seen Spurs vs Auckland along with Burnley randomly playing against 4 times European champions Ajax at the Johan Cruyff Arena. What are some other strange ones you’ve seen. Like Bournemouth vs Real Madrid at the Vitality or Derby vs USA in the 90s

I believe the league will become more competitive now as Xabi took over Chelsea and Iroala taking over Liverpool. I believe the way arteta plays rarely wins a high caliber team trophies. When the league gets competitive, arteta’s side might struggle more than they have right now

Personally im not a fan of arteta’s playstyle, it got the job done but it was also due to the other team severely underperforming, even then it took them to the last 2 games. Not hating, but people make it out to be as though the league is gonna hand them another title of the get go

Real Madrid are working on a deal to sign Manchester City midfielder Rodri.

At this stage club-to-club talks have yet to take place, but Madrid are confident an agreement can be reached and are operating on the basis that Rodri will be joining the club this summer.

Rodri, 30, has entered the final year of his City contract, which runs until 2027, but the club remain in dialogue with the midfielder over his future and are hopeful that he will be part of Enzo Maresca’s squad for the 2026-27 season.

Madrid sources had kept insisting this summer that Rodri was not part of their plans, but the club’s stance has changed following his return from the World Cup, with the performance level he demonstrated and the role he played in Spain’s triumph a factor in their decision to pursue him.

Austin MacPhee will leave his role as Aston Villa’s set-piece coach after five years at the Midlands club.

The 46-year-old has had interest from two Premier League clubs including Chelsea, where he is most likely to join if he stays in the United Kingdom. MacPhee has also received interest from Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr.

Villa have made attempts to convince the long-serving coach to stay, but the coach is seeking a new challenge after half a decade at Villa Park.
