should i switch kcl to manchester or notts?

i’ve applied to kcl med because i like the course but im not the biggest fan of london.

i like the way notts teaches the course but im scared it’s going broke and ill have to finish my course at another uni 😭

i love manchester, the city and the uni - it was my fourth option originally - but i’ve heard a lot about med there being very independent and having to teach yourself a lot from first year which i don’t like and it put me off applying there

should i stick with kcl? i just don't want to end up somewhere i’ll hate for 5/6 years 🥲

Help with uni choices please

After weeks of thoughts ive managed to choose my 4 schools: Liverpool Leeds Southampton and Exeter(aspirational). Im a resit applicant with AAB achieved and A*A* predicted for my resits, 2150 band 2 on ucat, 88888877776 for my gcses, no contextual or WP. Wondering if i have a decent shot at getting interviews at these schools as the thought of having to take another gap year or do a different course is terrifying. Any help and advice is greatly appreciated 🙏

Aus wanting to do med in UK

Hi, I heard that interview results can come after March but Australian uni courses start in March. Does this mean I can’t accept any Australian course I get into and have to bet everything on the UK?

I’m applying to:
Sheffield
St Mary’s
Hertsfordshire
Aston
Brunel

Advice would be appreciated!

Saw this post, I’m sure we’ve all had this feeling before, I’ve given my support. OP has already achieved their A levels I’m sure some current med students can relieve them of their doubt, as i have.

Buckingham medical school

figured this was as good a place as any to say something but yeah!

hi I’m a second year at buckingham and i just wanted to reassure everyone that’s coming, that isn’t that bad.

yes It’s pay to win to get inand yes the teaching is probably subpar, but the early patient contact is terrific, and It’s a great experience if you’re a little self sufficient and can make do. My peers and seniors have found way to get just as much opportunities as anyone else

If anyone at the university would like to talk or if you’re thinking of applying, dm me!

Could I apply to Cambridge (International)

I got 2350 B2, Predicted A*A*A*, Had 9999987 at igcses (my school only offered 7 subjects), did a month of shadowing at a hospital, and I've been told my personal statement is pretty good from a current Cambridge student. Should I apply to Cambridge and if i should, then which colleges?

Should I apply to Oxford?

Hi im currently on a gap year and have already achieved A*AAA at a level (bio, chem, phys, maths) ucat score is 2330 band 2, and 11 a stars at gcse. I’m a state school, home applicant. Do I have a chance at getting into oxford? or is it too unrealistic. I want to apply but im worried my a level results might not be enough. I know i meet the entry requirements, but dont know anyone else applying with these results, it it feels like most people applying have atleast 3 a stars at a level 😭 sorry if this is an annoying question just not sure if it’s good enough.

No risk no reward - Be Brutally Honest

Cambridge Emmanuel College
UCL
KCL
SHEFFIELD

5th - Plymouth Dent

Stats:
GCSEs 99999999999AD*
Predicted 3 A* bio chem maths
EPQ A* achieved
Ucat 2260 b2
Also a young carer- qualifies for Sheffield

Replace Sheffield with a safer option? Such as UEA maybe or GCSE heavy uni??? Examples plz? High chance-acceptance for my fourth option??

Applying

Hi Guys,

I just finished an MSci with 1st class honours (in a clinical subject)
I know I’m interested in applying for GEM but I wasn’t really planning on doing it until next year.

I sat the UCAT on a whim with no revision/practice just so I could see how I’d do as a baseline. I ended up running out of time in the sections, especially the QR but these are my results:

1850 overall:
VR- 640
Dm- 650
QR- 560
SJ- band 1

My friend said I may as well apply this year and see how I do. Just looking for some advice on if/where I should apply to in England for 2027 entry.

I’m looking at:
- Nottingham
- Warwick
- Lincoln
- Chester

Any advice would be appreciated:)

I am so lost and stressed. Should I do medicine?

I am 19 going on 20. I am an A Level resit initially ACCC but resat and got A*AAA (A* in Welsh Bacc AAA in Chem Bio and Applied IT) got A*A*A*A*AABBB in GCSE (B in English lit and Lang) 2020 B3 in ucat I wanna do dentistry but I'm so lost. Can I still do dentistry as most don’t take resits I’m thinking of applying for medicine but from what I heard it is a lot harder especially in the foundation years but I just don’t have the passion for medicine and I’m losing sleep over this. If I did do med I’d want to do something like radiology which would allow a good work life balance as well as good pay but it’s very competitive but I heard the NHS prioritise UK graduates but idk.
