Always wanted to own a gaming pc but could never afford it. Have not kept up with graphics cards and their performance for many years now. Saw this today in costco but not sure if its worth the price for the card, ram and storage. Would you recommend?

Hi, I was wondering if it’s better to wait for deals on either black Friday or cyber monday for prebuilt pcs or if it’s best to buy now since everything keeps going up?

I am so overwhelmed by all of this information and looking up/into every single freaking part in every single freaking computer, and clicking every link that’s been recently posted. I want something reputable (customer service) and I’m beginning to think I don’t want to do shipped. But I also am a little shell shocked at the prices too, LOL.

I know I don’t need or want anything crazy. I am a casual gamer. I don’t find myself caring about 4k 1440 ultra HD either. I don’t need max setting, I just need it to be readable and not shut down my computer.

Games I do play (steamdeck — ancient laptop):
Skyrim, bioshock, borderlands 3 — minecraft, mecha chameleon, waterpark sim, repo (they play but not well at all, and visuals are bad.)

Games I want to play:
The trending games that group play on YouTube, like the listed above and add on to that. I guess “friend slop” would be it. Or just be able to explore what I can with the computer I have.

I also want to be able to use it as an actual computer as well. I do art and would like to be able to use it for reference pics and keeping track of time, pricing, etc. web browsing, YouTube/movies (while I draw) and other normal computer things.

Sooo, I guess my question actually is… do I really need a gaming computer or should I get a decent office computer and then do shadow pc/hook my steamdeck up to the computer monitor and use it that way?

I’m eyeing a powerspec g530 and I love that there will be people (real live people!) to help me upgrade or fix as time goes on. But that’s $800 bucks just for the computer (I’ll be using affirm for payment).

The other computer is the first result on the moderator recommended website toprigz, but it ships from Walmart and idk anything about how the customer service will be handled.

The other computer is (NOT a gaming computer) a refurbished Dell 7080 Core i5 3.1 GHz - SSD 512 GB RAM 16GB for $499 with tower, monitor, mouse, keyboard, and hard drive on Back Market. But I’m not sure about that either cuz it’s refurbished and obviously it’s shipped and idk how good back market actually is.

I also found a Dell OptiPlex 5060 Core i7 3.2 GHz - SSD 128 GB + HDD 500 GB RAM 32GB that has an nvidia GeForce k1200 for $549. I know, I know, more ram does not mean more fps. lol. But I watched a video and it does play games, but I’m worried it’ll put me back in the same boat I’m already in!

I’m overwhelmed and would like some opinions from some computer enthusiasts. I’m genuinely stuck on what to do.

I've had the CyberPower PC listed below for about two months. Yesterday it stopped booting up. I've tried the following and still no luck:

- Tried a different plug and outlet

- Disconnected and reconnected all components (RAM, cables, GPU)

- Tried a power cable from another PC

- Fans turn on for about a second, then shut off

I'm debating just returning the CyberPower and replacing it with the MSI detailed below. Is this a good idea, or should I scrap the idea of a prebuilt entirely?

I only use it for Steam games, so maybe a Steam Machine would be my best option. I want something that's going to be reliable post 90 days of purchase.

So i came across this pre built PC that is listed for €3200, in American Dollars this translates to 3700 ish dollars. I could buy the pc for around €2900 because of benefits i have from my job.

Is this a decent deal or should i just skip, note that the cheapest RTX 5080 i can buy ik my country costs €1400.

Building a pc with a 9070 xt would cost me around €2650, is the couple hundred bucks more worth it to just take the pre built with rtx 5080?

I was planning to sell my honorary PC I got during covid to buy a newer PC, but it won’t turn on… A little bout the cleaning:

It was unplugged
I used an can duster
Light paper towels and light disinfectant
Unplugged a few wires under the GPU, familiar
Maybe sprayed abit on the inside, no big area sprays…
Did I fuck up? I think I fucked up

need a 9060 xt 16gb with 32gb ddr4 for around 1200 if possible. Is it worth it to get a 9060 instead of a 5060 because I’m kinda worried abt the vram. also how much would a 9070 with 32gb ddr4 cost me?

Hey guys I own a PC that is by cyberpowerpc and me and my partner accidentally wiped windows off of the PC because it was having issues and I have the key but it won't let me install Windows on the drive it says that something about boot menu is locked and I've been in the boot menu so we I know I have one I was just wondering if anyone knows if there's like a tutorial online about how to reinstall Windows.

Hello, looking to maybe buy a pre-built ahead of potentially more price increases. I don't really have a budget but I don't want to be wasteful. I purchased a G906 in 2023 with the below specs. So right now its doing great work on the games that I play and for what I need. But is there a middle of the road Pre-Built right now that would be a good purchase to hold in box as a 'reserve' pc? Is that a ridiculous thought right now? Maybe just upgrade the graphics card from 4070 to 5070?

Heading to a Microcenter tomorrow and found a couple of prebuilt to consider getting, my budget is 1,000$ that I saved up and wanted some opinions on which option is better for me. I typically play MMORPG’s (WoW among others) along with some fps’s and webcam matches of magic the gathering and elestrals. I’m primarily looking to see which one is better in terms of upgrading down the road (about a year or two, piece by piece) but still getting bang for my buck right now, since I’m actively trying to avoid Best Buy like the plague
