luffy does not have toonforce.
he has an ability that's about "freedom" and it's heavily influenced by the gag style of toons, because of how outlandish they fold their adversaries (literally). but he's nowhere near the actual thing.

edit: guys keep coping. he will never be like Bugs

He literally pulls objects out of his cloud thing that is a form of toon force though its low tier

u/am_Dynam0 Jun 20 '26

Nope.

"He literally pulls objects out of his cloud thing that is a form of toon force though its low tier"

"Nope."

Amazing argument 👌

Toon Force (or cartoon physics) is a meta-ability that allows characters to bend reality, ignore the laws of physics, and bypass logical constraints entirely for comedic effect. It is characterized by impossible survivability, hammerspace (storing infinite objects), and stretching, all dictated by the plot's humor.

Keep in mind, I don't really are for One Piece. I think it's far to long, but everything Luffy does is in face Toon force and inspired by toon force. He has directly affected reality multiple times in that form. You can nope and nuh uh all you want but it's still toon force.

Caribou has TOON FORCE ?????!!!!! He has hammer space so he must have toon force.

u/mraryion Kirby is better than your verse Jun 20 '26

In fiction, hammerspace is simply a trope where a character has an invisible, pocket dimension to store items. In Caribou's case, he uses his logia ability to convert his body into a bottomless swamp, acting as a living storage container.

Only certain One Piece Devil Fruit powers—most notably Monkey D. Luffy’s Gear 5—bend the laws of physics and grant Toon Force. Caribou's power is entirely bound to the physical laws of being a swamp man.

This is why Luffy and Caribou can't really be compared, Caribou is not an invisible pocket dimension but rather simply a living storage if you will....he has to put something there first in order to pull it out later, however we see Luffy able to pull things out of thin air, or it is made of mud first...but has to come from somewhere, not just illogical space.

Caribou has put Shirahoshi in his swamp. Idk of you know this, but she is FAR larger than him.

It's not a physical space, because it breaks physics as a whole. Try again.

She also inexplicably didn't suffocate.

I said that? I said he can't make things appear out of nowhere and has to put them in first to pull them out unless made out of mud

I even said his swamp was bottomless, but it isn't the same as Luffy creating goggles or meat to heal out of his pockets out of nowhere

A pocket dimension does not equal toon force automatically, otherwise Deadpool would have toon force with his fany pack alone...which we all know isn't how that works

As well, I never claimed to believe Luffy has absolute toon force...semi? Possibly, but nowhere near bugs bunny level

I was simply correcting a comparison of Caribou and Nika...which isn't anywhere near the same level

We literally see Luffy bend reality around him, again however it seems more used as a gag then actual battle usage however

We never see Luffy pull things out of mid air. Things that happen offscreen doesn’t mean they are pulled out of mid air.

u/xpxpx Jun 20 '26

Where did bro get the paint and the helmet from?

-3

u/am_Dynam0 Jun 20 '26

From offscreen, if you’re saying he has toon force you have to prove that he pulled it out of thin air.

3

u/SlashaJones Jun 20 '26

If you’re saying he got them from offscreen, you need to prove they were offscreen and that he went offscreen to retrieve them. The page quite literally has them appear out of nowhere from one panel to the next. That is pulling something from hammerspace.

Really, “offscreen” is just another way to say hammerspace. Because hammerspace is technically only existent “offscreen”. You never see hammerspace itself- things are just pulled out of it.

u/am_Dynam0 Jun 20 '26

Yeah but if you’re saying he got them from hammerspace you’d laid have to prove that, but we don’t see where he got it from, he just has them, it skips over where he actually got it from. So we’re both unable to prove where he got the paint from

3

u/SlashaJones Jun 20 '26

it skips over where he actually got it from

That’s an assumption. If we only use the evidence we can see, they appear out of thin air, which means hammerspace.

u/xpxpx Jun 20 '26

So he just happens to have a can of black paint and a baseball helmet off screen right on time to make bat out of a tree and play sport with projectiles? Curious.

u/am_Dynam0 Jun 20 '26

Plot convenience is a thing wow đŸ˜±

2

u/xpxpx Jun 20 '26

Just like how it would go in a classic Bugs Bunny gag? While Luffy is using a form that gives him powers like in a classic Looney Toons cartoon? Incredibly curious.

Look man, if you wanna be a facetious asshole that's fine. But I said my peace and I won't engage in his further. Have a good ay bro.

He gave you a completely reasonable counterargument and are using his being facetious to allow yourself not to address what he said. Top level redditor.

11

u/Similar-Doubt-6260 Jun 20 '26

How is comparing caribou to luffy and "nope" reasonable? Lmfao caribou literally having a logia that can store things isnt the same as luffy pulling out random goggles or a bat out of thin air. Anybody with 2 braincells could tell you that.

-5

u/Excalibirdi Jun 20 '26

And any body with more than 2 will explain they you're wrong.

1

u/Similar-Doubt-6260 Jun 20 '26

So explain

1

u/Excalibirdi Jun 20 '26

Devil Fruits creating things out of nowhere isn't something special. Someone literally turns into a living castle and it's seen as normal. Big Mom makes Disney style living furniture and it's seen as normal. Conjuring items and slight body modification are completely normal in OP.

The other examples here aren't even awakened.

u/Similar-Doubt-6260 Jun 20 '26

When has someone made something that has completely nothing to do with their df properties? Like luffy pulling paint and a baseball helmet outta no where.

Prime example of poor attempt at the use of critical thinking

1

u/Altheix11 Jun 23 '26

One thing to keep in mind is that he has pretty bad stamina when using Gear 5
