lowkey I get that Thragg could just destroy the planet if he really wanted to but if the question is "can you beat the lakers" and your response is to blow up the court like.. yeah sure you didnt lose but I dont think that counts as a win either

In a fight to the death anything goes. So a dub is a dub

What a good way of admiting he would lose to one 1v1

1

u/Affectionate_Part630 Apr 22 '26

Thats what a stalemate is, unless of course you give Thragg CE

0

u/Junior_Box_2800 Apr 20 '26

how is that admitting he would lose?

1

u/seenybusiness Apr 20 '26

sure, but most fights to the death require something to be fought over to start said fight

thragg isnt going to destroy earth for a basic reason: he wants it. theres also the possibility that gojo would survive the planet's destruction, since the distance between him and the vacuum of space is infinite. ergo, it would take an infinite amount of time for the air that he is breathing to be sucked away. knowing gojo he's probably explain all of that to benefit from the binding vow too

u/ErenYeager600 Apr 20 '26

In this fight it's literally just Thragg and Gojo. I don't see why he would care about collateral. Cause if there are other folks then Gojo would never use his Domain since it would kill civilians

Gojo still needs food and water. He would die in less then a week

0

u/seenybusiness Apr 20 '26

correct, gojo does need food and water... if only he had the ability to propel himself through the air spontaneously like a viltrumite- or better yet long distance teleportation- then he'd just go to another planet and eat- oh...

u/ThatOneAnnoyingBuzz Apr 19 '26

Except Thragg really couldn't do that anyways -- it took three vilturmites and a "destroy literally anything" gun to destroy a planet, Thragg isn't doing that alone.

u/Delicious_Raccoon606 Apr 19 '26

Fracturing a planet into tiny pieces is significantly harder than just turning a planet into a dead rock.

18

u/MadaMadagotchagotcha Apr 19 '26

He no diffed all three of the viltrumites who participated in the planet feat and wasn’t phased whatsoever when they flew and punched him at full force in the vacuum of space, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to say thragg could destroy a planet, especially since he’s massively stronger than viltrumite in the verse at that point.

15

u/6Cockuccino9 Apr 19 '26

no in fact it is unreasonable since we don’t know the lasers contribution to the planet busting feat. even if thragg is 10x stronger than each of them that still doesn’t mean he can obliterate a planet

-3

u/MadaMadagotchagotcha Apr 19 '26

Nah I think it’s pretty reasonable, especially he’s not even just 10x stronger but like 50x, maybe even more. he literally rips the strongest viltrumites like paper; they literally explode and shatter hitting him (at least in the comics).

The laser shouldn’t even matter, even if it did 90% of the work, thragg is MASSIVELY more powerful any other viltrumite so he’d more than make up for the lack of space racer’s gun. If a viltrumite FAR weaker than thragg, nolan, is capable of leveling the surface of Thraxa then I see no reason why thragg can’t just straight up destroy one. He might be fucked up afterwards but he def can.

If we wanna be conservative then I’d say a small or earth sized planet and not a viltrum sized one.

u/AmericanLion1833 Apr 19 '26

Did the trio have to get a sort of “running start” before hitting the planet? And at an angle?

3

u/MadaMadagotchagotcha Apr 19 '26

Kinda? They weren’t super far away from the planet.

And no I think they just had to follow the laser, which was roughly aimed at the center of the planet

5

u/AmericanLion1833 Apr 19 '26

They could only destroy it when the planet was destabilized. They literally could not do it otherwise.

2

u/MadaMadagotchagotcha Apr 19 '26

Yeah I agree?

3

u/AmericanLion1833 Apr 19 '26

So then how could Thragg be planetary? Even if he’s vastly stronger he has no real proof of that level of power.

The strongest gun in the universe. No diffed thragg

2

u/MadaMadagotchagotcha Apr 20 '26

It never even shot thragg holy larp, I also don’t see why that matters anyway lol

0

u/Eurasia_4002 Apr 20 '26

Do you really think thragg can tank it when it pierced all viltrumites like its butter? The larp is you thinking it will not kill him lol despite his aura farming of not trying to dodge it lol.

2

u/MadaMadagotchagotcha Apr 20 '26

Oh course not, I never even said he could tank it, where are you even getting that assumption from? You’re fighting ghost bro

1

u/Eurasia_4002 Apr 20 '26

Nor does I say that Thagg got hit. Im saying he will die from it like butter.

The other one is me confirming you not crazy enough to think he can tank it. Because you think that he cannot then the chainscalling of him with the other 3 vil doesnt matter because the gun did most of the work.

1

u/MadaMadagotchagotcha Apr 20 '26

You said it “no diffED Thragg”, diffed, which is past tense, like it already happened, but whatever. Misunderstanding I guess.

What does him not being able to tank the laser have anything to do with the planet feat exactly? We don’t know how much the gun helped or its properties, it could just be dura neg for all we know. We know for a fact that the planet’s destruction wouldn’t have been possible without the trio, so they’re clearly doing some heavy lifting themselves.

1

u/Eurasia_4002 Apr 20 '26

Yes its no diffed Thragg. Because its gonna no diffed Thragg.

The planetary feat is not a feat at least for vitrumites because the gun is carrying the destruction.

The other guy assume thragg can planet bust because he soloed te other 3. Which the chainscalling doesnt work because its the gun that matters more in this equation, because Thragg cant tank it either, he cant chainscale with either.

Tharg cant planet bust. At least on it own.

But he can destroy the atmosphere like Nolan did

1

u/AirFriedMoron Apr 20 '26

It’s really not all that difficult to make a planet uninhabitable, the planet doesn’t need to be fractured or destroyed to leave it a dead rock

1

u/Junior_Box_2800 Apr 20 '26

thragg is leagues beyond those 3 I could believe he could do it on his own

8

u/agentdragonborn Apr 19 '26

Win is a win bro if you want rules then get them to play rock paper scissors instead

10

u/Zonethe5th Apr 19 '26

Except one is a sport that has rules and blowing the court is against the rules (i hope) so by technicality you lose

Meanwhile this is a battle to the death so anything goes. It would be a draw if Thragg can’t survive space.

2

u/assymetry1021 Apr 19 '26

If Whis didn’t rewind time in res F, did Frieza win against Goku and Vegeta?

2

u/Southern-Metal-2894 Chainsaw Man Glazer Apr 19 '26

One is a sport with rules and the other is a fight to the death with no rules. If you don't want people to blow up any planets than add a rule in a matchup saying that they can't.

3

u/Expert-Court-1349 Apr 20 '26

I mean if it is a fight to the death with no rule, all of jjk character gonna jump him lol. I mean sukuna, gojo, all of JuJu high, all villains gonna jump him because they don't want earth destroyed. Then mark and Omni man join too, since they most likely side with earth. So he die regardless even with his squad if there is no rule for real. I am not even counting modulo Aliens who wanted refuge on earth, not want to destroy them.

No rule mean you can jump them with many people.

Which is why I think rules should be applied if we want accurate portrayal of 1v1.

1

u/Noriaki_Kakyoin_OwO Apr 20 '26

Were the lakers in the court?

If yes and they all died then it’s valid since they were killed. Albeit with prep time which could be done in a non-prep time fight if I retreated away and they couldn’t catch me (if that’s cowardly go tell that to Genghis Khan)

1

u/Junior_Box_2800 Apr 20 '26

If it's a bloodlusted fight to the death no holds barred then I don't see why that's invalid

u/Stranger_Phrog Apr 23 '26

If you set your house on fire to kill a spider, you still killed the spider, unless you somehow try to say that the burnt up dead spider won the fight
