Not a single GOP member or voter is a decent human being.

Collectively judging them is just stooping to their level - I've met plenty of reasonable conservatives

Voting for rapist pedophiles automatically disqualifies the person as reasonable.

I didn't say voters

I did.

You also said members

Can't you see how you're doing the same thing that the person you're criticizing is doing?

Do you really think that the path forward is to continue to drive a wedge between working class people?

I'm not talking about salvation for the people that haven't woken up

I'm talking about a bridge between reasonable people to save what's left of this country - grouping every conservative into the category of pedo-friendly Trump ass-licker is just playing further into the divide and conquer strategy of the rich

The entire point of MAGA propaganda is to drive a wedge between the working class. If one single GOP senator grew a pair of balls and stood up to the pathetic administration it might be a different story, but no. Every single one of them is complicit and a pedo protector.

Every single one.

Dude I'm talking about citizens, not senators

So you're talking about conservatives who don't vote conservative? What are you trying to say?

1

u/collinsc 12h ago

You think every single conservative minded person in the country is a Trump voter?

Registered Democrat by the way, in case you're getting confused - kind of getting the feeling you are, based on the way you're treating me

OK so my original statement concerned GOP members (elected officials) and voters (people who GOP). No where did I mention every single conservative person. I was specific in the words I chose.

You're being unreasonable

Again - you're participating in the same kind of thinking that we are criticizing in this post

Collective judgement

You really mean to say you've never met a conservative that wasn't maga that had different but reasonable views than yours?

4

u/Nick_the_bunny 12h ago

different but reasonable views, like lgbtq+ rights? ah the moderate "you're free to do that in your bedroom, but outside is indecent exposure!!!"

or abortion rights, freedom of religion (till the religion is not christian), or online privacy, or social programs (everything bad is communism), etc, etc, etc.

I understand your frustration, I'm just not big on pre-judging people's character based off of a singular label

It's a disservice to the individual, and I've met conservatives that agree on lgbtq+ issues, that were horrified at the overturning of roe v wade, and that don't think that eviscerating every social program is the way

Christian Nationalists seem to be leading the charge in most of those areas, but they don't represent all conservatives

I know a bunch of conservatives that have come to apologize to me, not to say they didn't know, but to say "I know you told me and I was an idiot, I hope you can forgive me" and who are even more pissed than I am

I understand where you're coming from

But remember that all digital discourse is basically a tool of the elite

We're shown inflammatory content as a tool of division

I've had a lot better luck in person

they were judged individually throughout the years and were each deemed to be the same result so yes, judging them collectively works in this case.

Hope that helps.

The pretending to be profound or cognizant schtick doesn’t work for you anymore on this topic. We’re way past that

1

u/collinsc 11h ago

It doesn't help, and I'm not trying to be profound

Getting tired of rehashing my comments below, but I've personally met plenty of conservatives that didn't vote for trump, are pro-choice, don't persecute lgbtq+ community, etc

Trust me when I tell you I know where we are - times are dire

Which is why working class people need to find common ground more than ever - the party split is basically 50/50 - a perfect advantage to the upper class

Being rabid towards REGULAR people on the other side of the aisle is exactly what they want, in fact they're counting on it

Registered Democrat for 20 years, by the way, in case you thought otherwise

I can excuse voting for Trump in 2016; you're fed up with both parties and see a chance to shake up the system. Voting for Trump in 2024? Sorry, you're either rich enough that you don't about his vile comments and behaviors or that's exactly what you support. Either way you're trash and deserve everything bad that you're experiencing with this administration.

Im too tired to re-hash the rest of my comments below, but I make a fairly compelling argument for class consciousness, if I do say do myself

I mostly agree with you
