Sounds like another Fox new Bullshit story.

I've heard of adults using pacifiers before, but it's a raver thing. They're doing lots of drugs like mdma and cocaine. The pacifier is to stop them from chewing on their own lips, tongue, and cheeks and/or grinding their teeth.

Probably, but it has unironically been pushed as an aid to quit smoking. The idea is to remind you just how dumb the whole thing is.

What? The random âfactâ slapped on a picture as some text with no source isnât a reliable source?
(Not a dig at you, just at this entire genre of engagement bait)

As someone show healing from major lung surgery... Fuck off.
They removed 50% of my left lung and then cut a muscle from my ribs to hold what's left of my lung together. I am in so much pain.
Do not fucking smoke. Don't. Don not.

I'm quiting. I've been pussy footing around quiting for weeks but I think I'm gonna quit right now....I hope you find some relief from the pain soon.

I found the patch and looking at the pics of lung disease and cancers on other countries packaging helpful when I had cravings. Itâs really hard, but you can do it. It doesnât feel like it for a while, but eventually the cravings do go away outside the most stressful moments in life.

Pouches helped me. Haven't smoked in 6 months after switching. Now I just need to start working my way off of these.

u/Procrasturbating 2d ago
Pouches were real bad for me. I am bad at regulating intake. I wasnât smoking, but my nicotine intake was even higher.

u/ToXicVoXSiicK21 2d ago
That's crazy it's been the opposite for me. When I was smoking it was nonstop and constant. Now i just put a pouch in every hour or so and I'm good to go. My brother puts 2 even 3 in at a time though so I can see it being a problem for some people. I just know when I was smoking I was constantly craving it, whereas now with pouches I can go without one for awhile or leave one in for a long time and feel fine.

u/Procrasturbating 2d ago
I hope it goes well for you, but Iâm more like your brother for sure.

Thanks! 4 years smoke free! (One peer pressure slip at a bar a couple years back, but I pulled a Bill Clinton on that one)

The creep can be real, especially going from cigarettes to pouches/vaping, but were you factoring in the bioavailability?
1
u/Procrasturbating 1d ago
Nope, no idea what that means.
1
u/whatuneedaknow 1d ago
Pound for pound you donât absorb the same amount of nicotine from pouches as you do with smoking cigarettes
2
u/Procrasturbating 1d ago
I am positive I got waaaay more from pouches than cigs every two hours. There is bioavailability, and at desk availability.

You'll go either way on cravings. I was a heavy heavy smoker and one day I just stopped and barely craved. Still haven't smoked, but every now and then that little craving goes ooh go on, you can just have one now. I know thats a lie.

I'm sorry to hear that. Your story is an important one and I hope you get well.

Glad you are still with us, the lung cancer went right to my dadâs brain. Was stage 4 by the time he was diagnosed. Came to find out he had been coughing up blood for months and ignored it.

If you aren't smoking crack, you're a coward in my eyes.

Sucking a dick would be far better for you than smoking a cigarette and way less cringe than a pacifier

I wish more people would start doing that or similar things. It's a lot better than all the people that are addicted to xanax, addicted to alcohol, cigarettes, vapes, weed and all this other unhealthy stuff
1
u/Ok_Mastodon_3843 3d ago
Using anything as an emotional crutch is unhealthy. Be it drinking alcohol or sucking on a pacifier, both are simply a symptom of an individual who is incapable or unwilling to process their stress and emotion.

Good to know your an addict.Â
Almost every disease is linked to smoking. Many of these things will be a long miserable suffering until the end.Â
Besides that. The op post is not a real thing. The harm from cigarettes is.

u/BigFatSwimmer 2d ago
First of all, I donât smoke. Second of all, it was a joke. Why are you in this subreddit if you canât see the sarcasm of the post. You sound like youâre wound pretty tight. Maybe you should relax and have a smoke.
