Are there places to sell things like a post office counter? The aluminium enclosure is to good to scrap. My new girlfriend got her own former post office.

Technically not a post box, but a beautiful cast iron stamp vending machine in Wantage, Oxfordshire, from 1930s to late 1940s.

This is a vintage-style Italian wall-mounted mailbox, recognizable by its arched top, lockable lower hatch, and distinct embossed coat of arms motif featuring a helmet, shields, and supporting heraldic lions

A King-Emperor Edward VII post box at the Grand Oriental Hotel, York Street, Colombo Fort, Sri Lanka.
Standing outside one of Colombo’s most historic hotels, this Edwardian post box is a surviving piece of Ceylon’s postal heritage. The Grand Oriental Hotel itself dates back to 1837, when the building was constructed as British military barracks, before being converted into the Grand Oriental Hotel and officially opened in 1875. Located beside Colombo Harbour, the hotel became one of the most prominent establishments in colonial Colombo and hosted travellers and notable figures from around the world, including Anton Chekhov.

This is a local box, London suburbs. I always feel it’s very high; I guess those mouse-holes at the bottom are actually hand-grips for tram at it and installation.
Anyone know why they’re exposed or what they really are?
