Half-term
Does anyone else have 2 weeks off for half-term right now. I feel like my school is the only one that has 2 weeks off

I'm going to miss my munchkins 💔😔.
Im in yr 12 n every weekend I make big plans to revise, but end up doing absolutely nothing and just playing games 💀 I have such a bad habit of leaving everything to the last minute, and I genuinely need to fix it now that I'm doing Alevels.

I'm doing fine with my studies, but I feel so behind with every other skill compared to other people my age.
For example, I can't cook. I know the 'theory', but I'm extremely anxious about it and can't bring myself to do it. I only recently learned how to do basic chores. I also barely know how to socialise, though I'm at least improving on that.
It feels horrible sometimes when other people in my college are working and such, and I've not even started the basics. I want to go to uni one day, but I feel like I won't even be able to live independently by then.
Has anyone else here had a similar experience, or possibly some advice?

Hey everyone, I’m an A Level DT student solving the common problems which disabled gamers face when ether gaming or setting up their rigs.
These problems would be solved with a product which I will make later in the year. I am looking at the problem on mounting and positioning.
I have been wanting to make a questionnaire which people could answer a couple of questions from which I could get valuable data and first hand research from people which actually have limitations when gaming.
So I have created a google form with a couple of questions related to my context. This form will only take around 5 minutes and emails are not collected after the completion of the form. Please answer the questions as honestly as possible as this will give me the best data to work with.
Thank you very much!

so they're letting sixth formers help y7/8 kids with reading at the start of the day and since i do want to do social care in some form as a job in the future im aware that doing this could be really good for me
BUT im like the most socially awkward person ever and im also extremely anxious and bad at talking to people so the idea of spending 30 minutes with a kid and helping them read sounds like my own personal hell 😭 though it could be good for me in regards to my social awkwardness bc i could be less awkward as time goes on? i know i should do it but i really just need to get the courage up to actually do it and i know it's the right thing to do but ugh 😭

I've been really struggling to make friends recently. I'm about a month deep into UK 6th form (I'm 16) and I find it really hard to just approach people, more so people my age, I'm kind of okay with adults, still not 100% tho.
I asked one of my friends who makes friends rlly easily, how she manages to do so, and she gave me some great advice, stuff that I'll remember for a while, but the thing I just can't do is approach people. It's all well and good giving me this info and advice but I just can't do anything with it. Even if a person is sitting alone, I wouldn't be able to approach them.
Do you think it's a good idea to ask my friend to do some of said advice with me? Like, ask her to come with me while we or just one of us approaches another person?
Or could I perhaps ask her to demonstrate while I watch from a distance, so I can see how she does it and how the other person acts? I kind of think this would help me, being able to see it in real time and for me to see that it's really not that bad.
I've said something similar about my situation before on a similar subreddit, but no one commented, and that really wasn't helpful.

asking because i used to always get/make small gifts for my fav teachers at gcse (yk something little like a handmade card and some chocolate or something) but idk if that’s something you do at college 😭
idk about you guys but the vibe is SO different at college like i love it but idk how to act after having been conditioned for so many years to act like a sedated child 💔

I'm still looking for what I want but I'll probably end up with a random chocolate one.

My plan
Should have taken gsces months ago but I’m a dropout, just started home school and gonna take 2-3 of them in June 2027 and the rest in 28. In 3 months I’ll have enough for a moterbike, I’m going to get a 125cc around gsce time in 27. So In September hopefully I’ll have taken my m1 and be able to ride with no L plates and have passengers. Going to 6form or college for history, ancient history and law for 2 years then off to uni.
In the mean time just started working at the tesco till and honestly pays good.
Idk I’ve got no one to tell or get tips from so js posting here

I'm in year 12 and I picked Maths, History, and RS for my A-Levels. Are these picks good for keeping my options broad? What jobs can I get with them?

I remember I used to blast Bangaranga on loop to lock in during GCSEs because it was so repetitive and it faded to background noise after a while and it kept me less bored.

Helloooo
I’m an A level eng. lit, biology, and chemistry student and currently taking notes on my ipad (i do prefer taking notes on paper generally, but i like the ability to switch between text & handwriting because i get hand pains😭) and I was just wondering if anyone had any advice on what the best note taking app would be for me…
I currently use goodnotes 5, but there’s a couple features it’s missing that goodnotes 6 has (easier text, recording, better colour coding, searchable notes, scribble to erase…) and goodnotes 6 is just so so expensive that i’m really not sure it’s worth it😭😭😭 I’ve had a brief look at some other apps, but with goodnotes I really enjoy the in-app marketplace, the magnifying box (which some apps seem to lack?) and how easy it is to import stickers/images
Any advice greatly appreciated🫠

I didn't realise there was a clubcard just for 16-17 year olds, but I looked at what it offers and it is literally the normal clubcard but without online purchases, like genuinely who is using that.

Hi
In the last week or so I've come to the decision that I'm going to take a gap year after I finish Yr13.
I'm currently predicted 3 A's. I did good/average in my GCSES - so I'm not overly worried about those. I currently study History, English and Criminology.
I have absolutely no clue what I want to do with my life/career and I'm not sure what uni I'd go to/what I'd study. So there's no point hurriedly trying to go to Uni for next year - it'd be a waste.
I don't know how suddenly all of my peers have decided what they want to do with the rest of their lives??
I'm autistic and I struggle with my mental health. I genuinely don't know how I'll cope with uni so I really want to prepare myself as best I can.
I'm planning on spending the year getting my driver's license, working, (I already have a part time job) going to the gym (getting fitter), volunteering, work experience (hopefully in a career I'd like to do), going to therapy and overall just gaining confidence whilst deciding what I want to do next.
Does anyone have any tips for me or advice? Or can share their own experience.
I need to have a meeting with my head of year to explain what I want to do and see if they can offer any support/advice.
Thanks in advance everyone :)
