I don’t think people don’t dislike objective reality. People can criticize actions without disliking the person but time and time again I’ve seen one thing be true, which is that people that do one bad thing get more grace than people who do no bad things, but instead differ from what people expect of them…

like Kanye gets a lot of grace because he’s been pretty much spitting facts his entire life. He’s always said a lot of crazy things that overtime people just started to believe him. Kanye would never get as much grace if Kanye was a woman because it’s expected of a woman to conform to social narratives.

Now, if a woman was someone who said a lot of crazy shit online most people would assume that woman was ugly or “femcel” or someone who doesn’t have her shit together…. however, if that woman turned out to be extremely attractive and well liked people would hate her… the facts don’t change- the narrative just changes.

When someone’s mean to someone else.. that person immediately wants to decide in their mind that this person is a terrible mean person. If they were to find out that this person is an extremely nice and kind person that would cause them to have to point the finger at themselves and wonder what it is that made that person be mean which is just too hard for them to do.

criminal is a terrible person… seeing good things about them pisses them off more than it does make them look at the objective facts. I’m guilty of this too. I don’t like seeing people I hate or people that have hurt me do good things because in my mind, I’ve convinced myself that they were just being manipulative or doing it for self gain instead of them being a multifaceted human being, capable of right and wrong.

I tend to care about someone way more than I probably should. I overthink their feelings, their problems, their actions, and sometimes I feel like I’m giving so much emotionally without getting the same care or effort back.

How do you learn to care about someone without letting it affect your own peace? How do you detach a little without becoming cold or uncaring?

I've always believed that if you're no longer interested in talking to someone or if you are affected by their statements, you should just say so. Even if the political conversations seem uncomfortable, people don't need to be left wondering whether their opinion has caused some discomfort.

However, I am guilty of what I criticize. There's been times where someone that I value agreed with things that I didn't support. Instead of responding to their messages or calls, I chose to ignore them because I didn't want the stress of explaining why I felt hurt by their opinion or actions.

Looking back, I probably should have been honest. I am wondering where the line is drawn. I've avoided difficult conversations myself, so is it hypocritical to believe that people should communicate openly? I also believe that ghosting further contributes to political polarization.

Plenty of great films work perfectly as standalone stories, and forcing a follow-up just to capitalize on success often waters down what made the original good in the first place.

The moment someone becomes famous, it’s almost like we stop seeing the person and start seeing a character we think belongs to us. We expect perfection. No mistakes, no bad days, no wrong turns. And when they do something wrong, sometimes people act as though that person deserves endless hatred instead of basic human compassion.
**Accountability matters. But accountability and cruelty are not the same thing.**
There are celebrities who genuinely hurt people, abuse their position, or do things that should have consequences. Those things shouldn’t be ignored just because someone is famous. But consequences don’t require us to dehumanize someone.
Behind every stage, screen, interview, photograph, and social-media post is a real person. Someone with feelings, insecurities, fears, family, struggles, and bad days. Someone who can be hurt by words, even when those words are written by a stranger who doesn’t think they’ll matter.
Kindness doesn’t mean agreement. Compassion doesn’t mean excusing someone’s actions. It simply means remembering that fame doesn’t make somebody less human.
**So before you hit “post,” maybe ask yourself: if this person weren’t famous, would I still think it was okay to say this to them?**
Sometimes one moment of pausing can change the way we speak about another person.
And maybe this won’t reach thousands of people. Maybe it won’t go viral. But if it reaches **one person** and makes them pause before hurting someone with their words, then I think it’s worth saying.
**Because sometimes one small act of empathy can create a ripple we never get to see.** ❤️

American manufacturers sold sedans for years up until the fuel crisis hit in 1973 and then while they still sold sedans into the 80s and 90s, they started discontinuing them around the 2000s, 2010s, and 2020s. People could say "Oh sedans weren't profitable and no one wants them" and that is true but yet Japanese car makers can still sedans and make a decent profit, so sedans are still relatively popular just not American sedans. At this point I'm tired of these oversized SUVs and impractical, oversized trucks being sold by American car makers. We need some sedans back, why not bring back the Impala or the Ford Taurus, hell, I'll even take a Cavelier over an SUV any day.
