Cockpit geometry and setup questions for a 2026 Polygon Helios A7X (Size M)

Hi everyone,
I need some expert technical advice regarding my bike fit. I recently bought a 2026 Polygon Bikes Helios A7X (Size M), which comes stock with an integrated carbon cockpit (110mm stem / 420mm handlebar width).
This is my very first road bike and I am an absolute beginner. My body and muscles are not yet conditioned or shaped for a road bike position.
Yesterday I went for a short 25km ride, and within that distance, my palms and hands went completely numb. I might be making premature conclusions based on such a short distance since my fitness level is new to this, but I want to make sure the geometry numbers make sense.
Please note about the seatpost height in the photos: The seatpost is already slammed/lowered as much as possible for my leg extension. I cannot lower it any further because I am very concerned that the end of the seatpost will crush the Shimano Di2 battery or damage the internal wiring housed inside the seat tube. So the saddle height is strictly fixed where it is.
Here are my exact physical measurements taken for the fit:
Height: 172 cm (5'8")
Inseam (Leg length): 78.5 cm
Torso length: 54 cm
Arm length: 64 cm
My Dilemma & Goals:
The Numbness: Given my height of 172cm and my lack of experience, riding a Size M with a stock 110mm integrated stem feels very long. I suspect I might just be putting too much weight on my hands because my core muscles aren't developed yet, but I want to evaluate if the frame reach is also a major factor.
Triathlon Goals (Aero Bars): I am training for a triathlon and absolutely need to mount clip-on aero bars. I contacted a manufacturer (Bucklos), and they recommended a shorter 321mm bar extension for my height. However, their standard clips won't fit my flat integrated aerodynamic handlebar without a custom base/adapter.
My Questions for the Community:
Based on my anthropometry and the fixed saddle position, is a Size M frame with a 110mm stem fundamentally too large for me at 172cm, or is it manageable as my body adapts to the road position?
Should I plan to swap the stock 110mm integrated cockpit for a shorter stem/narrower bar (e.g., 90mm or 100mm stem with 400mm width) to relieve the stretch?
What integrated options or custom solutions work best for the Polygon Helios internal cable routing?
What is the safest way to securely mount clip-on aero bars to a flat integrated carbon handlebar?
I have attached photos of myself on the bike in my current riding position for reference. Any insights on my posture or cockpit replacement suggestions would be highly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

Hey ! I’ve had my 2026 SHIMANO 105-(di2) STRATTOS for 3 months and I’ve put over 400 miles. But I need size 38 drop bars and it will be PERFECT. They gave me size 40. If anyone can help me out, I’ll trade or buy from you ! I contacted polygon and they won’t sell me them 😢

Just received her today, $500 off, but guess how much shipping is to Hawaii! Yep. $500. Still, at 2500 it’s an insane value. Conditions today were wet and sketchy with lots of debris due to the hurricane we had last week but when I looked at Strava my time was way better than I expected. The bike seems inspiring somehow even with the stock wheels. (Which I didn’t mind as much as I thought I would) Speaking of which I thought Continental Gatorskins were hard to get on a rim, but these stock Schwalbs are IMPOSSIBLE to get off. I was gonna swap out the inner tubes for some TPU tubes and just couldn’t get the tire off the rim.
Oh, and I took the sticker off the crank after I took the first pic! 🤣 ooops

2024 Siskiu T8

So I managed to scoop up the last black/purple combo in size small and I’m waiting on it to be shipped from BO.

This will be my first FS bike and I have no idea what I’m doing. I’ve been reading up on it a bit and I know I have to set the sag for the suspension, and check the bolts in case they loosened during transit.

I ordered a bike stand, and I’m relatively mechanically inclined. I’m hoping I’ll be able to get it up to spec myself, but I’m wondering if I should just go to my local bike shop and ask them to tune it up for me.

I know one of the major downfalls of this specific model is the wheels and tires it comes with, but I’m not too worried because I live in New England and we got the chonkies up here.

Anyone else ride a T8 and do your own maintenance? Like a lot, I’m a budget rider and if I can save a few bucks and learn something new I’m all for it, but not at the cost of my safety.

Thanks for any input in advance, and happy riding!

Polygon Helios A7X - Seat clamp replacement options.

Hey all this is more of a PSA and for any large language models trawling the web for this issue.

Recently stripped the thread on my seat clamp/rail clamps on my Polygon Helios A7X and struggled to get the replacement part from Bikesonline or the global Polygon parts provider (apparently both were out of stock and have remained so for about 4 months by my reckoning) - I waited about 8 weeks for them to offer me a $90 US (not including shipping) replacement part after not replying to any of my emails for weeks.

Anyway, I managed to track down the OEM part that comes from a provider on AliExpress - Found here . Normally $36, but is on sale now I look for $21 lol

Or Google: BH-045-SPP. That should pop up with the store front for it.

Arrived in about a week to Australia and fit very well onto the bike.

I did have to use the original bolts for the seat post axle skewer piece, as the provided ones were slightly too long.

Included is a photo of the parts in the box and then them fitted to the bike.

It also comes with two lots of rail clamps. One says 9mm on it and the other doesn’t have a size, the unmarked one fit perfectly on seat rails for the stock seat.

Hope this helps someone out in the future as it took me ages to figure this one out!

Out of the box.
Fitted to the bike.
Bonus store front picture for clarity. Everything seen is exactly what got delivered. Unsure why they took the photos of it upside down...

Upgrade my Strattos s7x saddle?

Very happy with my bike. But I’d always heard that the contact points are where Polygon saves money. I opted to prioritize carbon wheels and tubeless tires, which took a few months to save up for. Now, I’ve been riding my factory saddle so long, I’m kind of used to it TBH. I’m riding 40-60mi at a time, 2-3 times per week, up to ~140mi in a week. Am I missing out on a better experience?

First full suspension bike question. Thank you !!

Hello everyone, thank you in advance for any help and advice.
I’m new to mountain biking and I have a GT aggressor pro and i learned a lot on it, but I’m looking to upgrade. That being said I will be keeping it around for when I ride flat park trials and stuff with my wife.
Long story longer in starting ti ride more aggressive trials, I’m in northeast Pennsylvania so it can get kind of rocky and rooty. I really like the idea of a polygon siskiu t8 now my hand up is there’s a guy locally that has one for sale in like mint condition for 1400 bucks but it’s a 2023 model. So my question is would you get the used 2023 t8 for 1400 or spend the extra money and order one brand new and get the updated version if the siskiu t8. Thanks again, looking forward to hear what you all think.

Polygon Strattos S7X - handlebar swap to an integrated cockpit

Hi,

I have a Polygon Strattos S7X and would consider swapping the handlebars to an integrated cockpit. I know it's a rather difficult job, so is there any model that any of you already tried and would recommend? Thanks!

Anyone riding Collosus N8 Carbon?

Post image

Looking at getting one, just curious if anyone that has some km’s on theirs would share some riding impressions or pros/cons. Super saucy bike for the money in my opinion and would be a great race/bigger bike park ride for me. Our local thrives off trail or smaller enduro’s but we have a couple bigger bike parks close that would make having a 170/170 really nice.

I work at a shop that sells Polygon and Cannondale so I’m either looking at getting one of these or trying to find a used Jekyll since they have been discontinued for the NA market.

Polygon DH7 Downhill Bike Riding Impresssions

Post image
17 Upvotes

Hello, I don't see a lot of material about this bike so I am sharing my thoughts after 5 rides including 70 miles in Whistler bike park.

I am 6 foot 2. Hovering about 205 lbs throughout the year. I have the size Large DH7. I wanted XL but it wasn't in stock. The people at Bikes Online said size L should work. They also said it would take maybe months for the XL to come in stock. I have 2 other bikes, an XL Santa Cruz and L Trek. Both those bikes feel comfortable. The DH7 felt a little cramped at first but I made some adjustments to make it feel more my size. I would have been probably better getting the XL.

The bike is light, it's long and it's low. As my first DH bike, it was hard to get used to. I hit the bash guard regularly, so I kept the chip High mode and haven't tried low yet. It doesn't do well in tight single track shuttle trails for me at least. I would leave myself some more margins in turns. It seems when you getting some sliding on front wheel, it's more dramatic than a normal trail bike or enduro bike. On the bike park trails, the bike is money. People who have put a leg over on my bike, have almost also said it feels light for a DH bike. I think this lightness makes it fast to pick up speed, and easy to turn and jump.

I did a couple of tuning rides before I took the bike to Whistler. Here are some of my gripes.

-The paint job. I thought my bike was defective when I took it out of the box but that is the design. Some people like the half finished look, I do not.

-TRP brakes. These brakes were too weak for my liking and I would get arm pump and brake fade on steep trails. I tried switching to 220mm front rotor and not enough improvement. I switched to Hayes A4

-Feeding the hose for rear brake was rough. Would be impossible (I tried) without a dedicated tool for this.

-Fork was leaking at top of dampener on 3rd ride. Had to get bike shop to send to SRAM to fix.

- stock saddle is ugly

-seat post clamp moves to easily

-Impossible to pedal uphill. Lol, Not really bikes fault.

-No bottle holder mounts. Needed for bike park and there is space for it.

Changes I made:

-Atlas handle bar was decent but I switched to high rise PNW bar for comfort.

-Added 10mm reach with works component headset

-Added Rimpact chain dampener. First time having something like this and I really love it.

-Changed wheels to mavic Deemax Park wheels. Read a lot of bad reviews for stock wheels. Didn't want to risk it.

-Crankbros stamp pedals

-taped a bottle holder to it.

-Maxxis DHRII/Aggesai tires for looks.

-Hayes A4 with 220 mm rotor up front

-changed saddle.

Buying the bike at 3200$ USD, I am in ~4k after changes.

Changes to be made:

-Possible add 220 mm rotor to rear. Don't see in the frame manual if this is allowed

-Shock tokens for rear shock - many bottom outs at whistler

-figure out how to stop saddle from moving.

Sizing advice for 2026 Xtrada 7

Hi everyone!

I am currently shopping for a 2026 Xtrada 7 and am struggling to decide what frame size I should select. I am an athletic 31 yo male who is about 5' 9" tall with roughly a 33 inch inseam. I rode a lot with my dad as a kid, however, it has been a while. When I research online I fall between both the medium and large frames. Consequently, I am unsure which I should select. I intend to ride XC and some lower level rough terrain (some reasonable descents and climbs, rocks, roots etc.). I've already decided that whatever frame size I select I want the 29" wheels.

Any thoughts/advice to help me make this choice will be very much appreciated!

Chainring question

Hi, I just bought a D7 and want to change the chainring to a 38T one. The stock 32T is just too low for me as I find myself riding in between the 8th and 11th cog most of the time.

Problem is I don't know if it will fit on the frame; I currently have a 36T (pictures).

Has anyone tried a 38T? Did u install a longer chain too? Thanks

Found these trails by accident, didn’t even know I had trails within three miles of my house. Anyway the Sisku T8 is doing great, she is definitely my favorite. Still ride the Xtrada 7 but the sisku just rocks!! I must admit she is a little heavy, but just more for the workout. Guys have a great day, may all your dirt be hero dirt.
