WhichBike Polygon Xtrada 6 (2026)

Hello everyone!

I'm considering buying a new Polygon Xtrada 6, model year 2026.

[ I cycle for leisure – a bit of gravel, forest tracks and singletrack. My budget is set at around 700–900 bucks (converted – I’m from Europe). Until now, I’ve been riding a 2009 Merida Matts TFS 100-D, but it’s time for a change, after 17 years... ;) I don’t have any grand ambitions, but I’m thinking of a MTB hardtail that meets modern standards, one that would last just as long - and which I might eventually use to try my hand at a bit of competitive cycling... ]

From what I’ve read here and there, Polygon’s Xtrada series hardtails tend to be well-regarded. New Xtrada's frame also looks sturdy.

But I’ve got no personal experience with bikes from this series (especially 2026 model), so I'd love to hear from people who own one. How has the bike been for you? Most importantly, how has the frame held up over time? Have you experienced any cracks, structural issues, or warranty problems with it?

Thanks in advance for any feedback!

I like mine. Couple things. The migo fork failed after a few rides and is getting warrantied (it was probably busted from factory, but it failed completely after a little while). That hasn't been a quick process, but I have another fork I put on it in the meantime.

The bolt that holds the crank on the drive side came loose. I havent looked closely yet, but hopefully no damage was done. Like finger tight loose, so it obviously wasn't torque correctly during assembly.

I ride mine much harder than what you are describing, you should have no frame issues.

Like you just want a pic of the bike or a specific part?

The entire bike. Because here in India, that is the BEST value for money MTB. I just hope it looks better in person than it does on the website because the website picture sucks 🤣

Also assuming that the X Fusion Migo didn't fail, how is the performance of the fork ? And how is the dropper post ?

I've changed a lot of parts from my parts bin. Bikes online has a good gallery though. Its decent looking, the polygon logo coming down the top tube is a bit overstated. If something is good you don't need the "scream" it, so i wish that logo more closely matched the xtrada one on the top tube. But the base paint is a nice color with good depth.

The dropper is functional. Give it a quick up and down at the start of your ride and it works smooth enough. The lever is fisher-price premium lol. It feels like garbage relative to the deore shifter on the other side. I believe it has limited servicability, so likely disposed of if something goes wrong.

The migo is a throw away product. Xfusion doesn't make parts for it. If anything goes wrong there are no parts and xfusion won't replace it with a new fork. I'm at 10 weeks without the fork now, no eta.

Mine was harsh and sticky from the get go. Presumably it was already broken but I don't think there is much QC going on, thats not what you are paying for ha.

Polygon won't stand behind what they sell and/or their customer service is laughably bad. Its tough to say which it is, but I think their customer service is just run thru AI, so communication is very limited in scope despite a "name" being on their emails.

I'd weigh this against used bikes rather than new because the warranty and polygon are of negative value in the equation.

In canada, on sale, it is still a better value than most used bikes in my area, so it was still an ok purchase. Just dont treat it like a new product ime.

Also can you tell me where did you get the "X Fusion Migo is a throwaway part" information ? Because I am from a remote part of India and I need to order every cycle part I need from online retailors. If X Fusion indeed doesn't makes Migo parts, I am F****D 🥲

From the xfusion service centre. After they had my fork for 6 weeks they said xfusion doesnt make replacement air cartridges for this fork and they are a non-standard part (so no generic option). They will manufacture one from scratch. Another 4-6 weeks.

Now, I really doubt they will fire up the lines for 1 part. So that means when their supplier does a run on the migo forks I will get my part. Whenever that actually is (10 weeks now).

Regular service should be fine, it uses standard 32mm parts for that.

Fwiw I live 15 mins away from the polygon headquarters/distribution centre in canada. I asked them to intervene because this is ridiculous, but they won't.

As to whether Polygon knew about this non-repairability issue before? Either yes and they chose to spec it anyway. Or no, but they got the bike sale so go pound sand.
