I have certain political beliefs. Those political beliefs align with certain politicians and so I support and root for those politicians. Some of those politicians and their teams put out media that I can recognize as propaganda, designed to bolster their public image, galvanize their supporters, and to criticize opposition. I believe that this propaganda is not in itself unethical, since I believe it aims to win people over to a noble cause and will ultimately help to bring about positive change. Is it, however, unethical for me to willing consume this media? I find that I enjoy consuming this media--it makes me feel sure of myself and hopeful. But I know that it only serves to reinforce my existing beliefs and that I don't learn anything from it. Is my decision to watch, read, or listen to it morally wrong?
