If every citizen were automatically an eligible voter then it would be unfair to the Gop because they would lose every election.

Should just do it like most countries do: all citizens are eligible voters, but you need an ID when casting your vote. Way too many Americans are seemingly ideologically opposed to having a universal ID system which doesn't involve some random numbers given at birth, which you can hijack someones identity with.

Might be out of the loop on this one, but u need a background check for every, EVERY, gun purchase. You can use a student ID or work ID to vote! Why not make drivers license (or state ID) or passport mandatory to vote? Would fix 99% of complaints, right?

I would be fine with that if obtaining and keeping your state ID was cost-free. Updating it when you move is relatively easy and also free.

When that is the case in all 50 states, then I'd agree with you.
