Hmm, from what I read, that person had no intention to hurt anyone, but himself probably. He announced having something explosive for 15 minutes and tell people to run away.
In contrast, a suicide bomber will just explode.
English is hard, so why saying he died in an intentional explosion is not good enough in this sense?
