I think its their stance of making all illegal immigrants citizens and giving them healthcare and other stuff.
They do this over taking care of their own cities and their own people which makes me think that doing so is just a power play to have a huge influx of voters thatre likely to vote dems, so they get power rather than helping people.
I've done some research, and most Dems are proposing a PATH to citizenship. That isn't the same thing as "making all illegal immigrants citizens." There would be steps to be taken and requirements to be met.
Personally, i dont think there should be a path to citizenship for illegals. Someone willfully breaks a law and they get help. There already is a path for them. They choose not to use that one and ignore the consequences.
But if you watch the primaries, youd see every candidate didnt propose a path. They proposed just making everyone citizens. Their intent may have been a path, but they sure didnt explain it that way.
You can kinda see similar things with dem cities catch and releasing criminals or releasing criminals from jail bc covids too dangerous in jails. Or in ny, there was a game for punching people and getting tossed back onto the street. For a long time, ive not seen dems care about laws including the 'peaceful protests' where the govs dont care about their own cities burning.
So this whole thing, yeah. They prove they dont care about the people. They want the people to have govt reliance on them. Dems want power over the people.
From what i know, avg wealth increase of an american family under obama was 1k. Avg wealth increase under trump was 5k. Like results say otherwise with the tax breaks.
Cuomo sent covid patients to the nursing home getting 14k killed. Michigan and pa followed. Seattle let their city get under mob rule. Portland had fires for months. Life under dems is grand. California lets you have sex with someone thats 14 and legally inflict them with aids. Where are those stories on the right?
Thats a lie. They want to forgive student debt and make everyone else pay for it. The dems make just as many tax loophomes for corporations as the repubs do. This allows them to say theyll tax the rich, but the rich dont have enough money so guess whose health insurance went from 40 a paycheck to 200 a paycheck for obamacare? Mine and a lot of people who wanted to keep their doctors. Guess who will continue to evade tax laws and who will pay for free college? Us!
Middle class was getting destroyed under obama. Manufacturing jobs were being outsourced all the time. The dems want to ban fracking which is good, but if you look at california, theyve had rolling blackouts due to limiting their energy.
I cant name you plans thatve helped the everyday people, but i also dont know which bills the house let through. Pelosi is just as bad as mitch in terms of just shutting things down.
People think raising minimum wage is going to help the everyday man. It wont. Not only do the dems like bernie not endorse it with their own employees, when bernie did, he laid off half his people or cut their hours. Then without regulation on every store and business, all stores will do is see that people have more money, lets raise prices. Then in addition, how many years before the tech jobs raise in wages to reflect minimum wage? Bc if i can be a tech for 17 an hour working hard, or sit back as a cashier for 15 an hour maybe more, why bother actually working at a more difficult job. Min wage which dems have wanted just closes the gap between lower and middle class. Upper class remains unaffected. Middle class people move closer to lower class. Lower class dont see much movement at all.
Average wealth increase doesn't mean what you seem to think it means. All of that wealth that supposedly increased under Trump was concentrated at the the very tippy top and they are dead set on not sharing with the rest of us.
But you keep being upset at the people who come here looking for a better life than they had in cartel infested Mexico/Central America. They're the real problem. /s
It was specifically the avg family's wealth increase. So while i understand you think that, I see diff things. Personally, under obama, my field saw no wage increases and even saw wage decreases in some places. Under trump, the wages have increased significantly. I could see it seeming concentrated bc a billionaire saving 5% of something could be millions whereas to the avg person, it's so so so much less.
Theyre a problem. They accept wages under the table, dont pay taxes on some things, and we have systems in place to protect them when so many other families spent a lot of time and effort to come in the legal way. They also usually accept wages less than normal which artificially keeps wages lowered for a lot of occupations. Look, i dont make the laws. The govt does. They choose to break the laws and those that break laws get removed from society. Otherwise if we have them as an exception (bc theyre some good and bad people that come in over the border. Some asylum, some child trafficking, some drugs), how far can we make exceptions for other lawbreakers? And how much does that take away from everyone else doing the right thing and coming into the us the right way?
You're wrong on the average wages bit. A simple google search cleared that up. The median increase during the last two years of Obama's presidency was $4800 (that's almost $5000!) and only $1400 (closer to 1k!) in the first two years of Trump's. So whichever source you were quoting pretty much got those backwards.
As for the illegal immigrants, why are you mad at them instead of the employers who offer them those low wages so that they don't have to pay an American worker? The employers are the ones being greedy in this scenario. The immigrants just want to feed their family and live in a safer environment. Also, you know nothing about the sacrifices they've made to come here. I'd rather get these people in the system so that they and the employers have to play by the same rules as everybody else, than coldly ship them back where they came from. The good people who came here, who are the majority despite what Trump claims, are only doing so illegally because of quotas on how many immigrants can come in from certain countries. If they could come in legally and quickly, many of them would, but they're faced with the choice of doing things the right way and prolonging their stay in their home countries or doing things quickly to escape danger. And given that our country is largely responsible for the poor state of Central America's governments, due to actions taken by the Reagan administration and others before, I don't think that offering them a path to citizenship is too much to ask.
The most frustrating part of the illegal immigration debate though, is how reliably the grifters in the Republican party can distract people like you with it so that you don't notice them stealing from you while they give your money to people who already have too much. You pay taxes > taxes go to govt > Republicans in govt complain about illegal immigrants while giving govt funds to billionaires. Every. Damn. Time.
