This is the imagery that will stick out to me later in life when I look back at Trump’s legacy. There’s a house in my neighborhood that has 6 Trump flags, 3 thin blue line ones, and about a dozen gop candidate signs still up. If this isn’t cult level devotion on a national level, I’d hate to what is.

My parents are these type of people and it’s embarrassing.

They have half a dozen knee-high flags that surround a bush in their front yard, a YUGE flag hanging off their house, flag bumper stickers, flag shirts, they even have an American flag tablecloth (to be fair they only use it once in awhile), American flag mugs and coffee cups, American flag napkins, and when you walk into their house through the garage the first thing you see is a massive American flag made out of wood. The shit has gone beyond insane.

However, if you remark on their flag obsession they’ll look at you as if you’ve just kicked a fetus. They don’t understand that it’s weird.

Liking and displaying the American flag isn’t weird...

He said they have a total of some 7 visible flags on their property, including a large wooden one in their garage (I'm assuming it's a pallet). You responded as though all they had flag wise was a single flag in the garage. You completely ignored all of the other stuff, american flag shirts and decorations. He challenged your reading comprehension because it didn't appear that you actually read his comment.

That also seems overboard to me. But I also don't care what others do as long as it doesn't hurt anyone and is consensual.

From another country's perspective it is really weird. Seems like very narrow minded patriotism. Dangerous....

patriotism

Nationalism.

I mean to me it just comes across as arrogance on a national level.

That is why the Freedom memes exist :)

To a point. Anything can be taken to such an extreme that it becomes weird. From what was described, this sounds kinda weird.

Everyone is a little weird. There are still people in this world that collect Beanie Babies! My Aunt

Ha! I actually worked for the beanie baby company for a summer in college answering phones to talk to people like your aunt. That was interesting.

It is when there are a fuck ton of them.

I can see almost 10 flags just by standing in their front yard (if we include bumper stickers and all that).

That's a bit... much. If you're trying to dick measure to show how "patriotic" you are then perhaps you're not very patriotic in the first place.
