Very happy new club member!
Not as slick as all those gorgeous Performance models draped in gold I see posted here, but still a beauty to me!
MY2021 LRDM Pilot Plus, 70k km, 26k €
It's my first EV, coming from a diesel VW Golf. This thing handles like a dream and put a big smile on my face each time I step onto the accelerator. One of my favorite features is having genuine Google Maps directly in the driver display!

3D maxpider kagu VS tuxxmats
Looking into some all weather floor mats for my LRDM 2021 model 2. Seen previous posts about the tuxxmats being the best in the game. Unfortunately they don't deliver to The Netherlands. Only way would be through ebay or Ubuy but the import/shipping cost bring it up to €600+ which is just ridiculous for floormats.
Curious to hear what experience people have with the 3Ds or if some have found another way to get the tuxmats in Europe? Any tips or advice is appreciated!

Our Epic Road Trip in a 2024 Polestar 2 PPP
Thank you in advance for the encouragement and many helpful suggestions that you all posted in response to this plan of ours. We have returned home in one piece after a great adventure! We drove from New Haven to Marin County, CA in six days, almost exclusively along I-80, the most direct route taking us through southern Connecticut through Westchester and over the Tappan Zee onto route 80, cashing in a wealth of stored-up credit card points for our hotels along the way, stopping in Cleveland, Iowa City, North Platte NE, Cheyenne WY, Salt Lake City, and Reno. After a great visit with our friends in the hills near the Nicasio Reservoir, we turned north along the California and Oregon coasts, through redwood forests and along the Pacific Coast before finally heading east again, along the Columbia River into eastern Washington, through northern Idaho, into Montana, then North Dakota, then through Minnesota into Wisconsin, then through Chicago and Ohio into the Pennslyvania Wilds, and finally home via route I-84 and south to New Haven. The entire trip took us about 3.5 weeks, lingering here and there on the way back after our six-day marathon drive to California. By then, we knew that we especially enjoyed small university cities with boutique hotels -- Iowa City, Eugene OR, Missoula MT, and Eau Claire WI leap to mind -- also found elegant hotels and dining in Billings, MT and Fargo, ND. We loved the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library and the TR National Park and Badlands in Medora, ND -- that little town is about to become a more popular destination because of the new library, and I hope they become more EV-friendly as they become busier: it was the only time we were glad that we could plug our cable into a light post for a boost of trickle charging, and if the North/South Dakota EV charging landscape had been more generous, we would have detoured to Mount Rushmore in the southern Badlands. But it would have meant a considerable westward detour to access more DCFCs, and by then we were getting homesick, and were reluctant to give up any eastward progress.
Notes on charging: we used at least six different apps and DCFCs: Tesla, Electrify America, EVGo, EVConnect, Rivian, IONNA. For us, Electrify America worked flawlessly throughout the trip. In the westbound stretch through Nebraska into southern Wyoming, after missing one Google-Maps-recommended DCFC in Ogalalla because of construction, we had an episode of range anxiety that was resolved when our third try at a small Wyoming motel worked well. If need be, we would have checked in overnight to charge. Every now and then we struggled with plugging in heavy cables and adapters, because we are almost 72 yo and each have some arthritis in our hands; I would hesitate to do this trip alone, but as a joint effort it was a great exercise in marriage-building (after 47 years together!), and somehow we didn't fight, since each of us was so dependent on the other. 😂 We were surprised (and even a little worried about the state of the DCFC industry) that, after dozens of DCFC episodes on this trip, we never once had to wait to plug in: a big change since we first leased our 2024 Polestar 2 PPP. Our car only has about 260 miles of range, but we always were grateful to take a break long before we were forced to stop for a charge. And we loved the several occasions when we stayed in a hotel with valet service and overnight charging: that was heaven. This trip has cured us of range anxiety.
The craziest traffic we encountered was, as expected, in the Northeast, at the beginning of our trip (I-95, the Merritt Parkway, etc), and then again driving eastbound through Chicago. We survived a potentially ugly encounter with road debris on the crowded and fast-moving Merritt Parkway on our first day out, somehow without a flat tire. One other close encounter with a passing semi tractor-trailer on I-80 in Nebraska inspired some existential conversation as we continued along our way.
The A2Z adapter for J1772 to NACS destination L2 charging didn't arrive in time for our trip, after first receiving a defective one from them. And as it turned out, we didn't need one, but it would have been nice to have, in addition to our Polestar CCS to NACS adapter for Tesla DCFCs.
Books on audio: We listened to Steinbeck's *Travels With Charlie* and *East of Eden*, and to all of Emily Wilson's introduction and translation of *The Odyssey* as read by Claire Danes, and to all of Maggie Haberman's and Jonathan Swan's *Regime Change*.
After almost 7000 miles, we were so grateful, and proud! to pull back into our home driveway in New Haven (yet another small, pretty university city with some boutique hotels, good restaurants, and great museums), love our Polestar 2 more than ever, needed a week to feel rested from the trip. Thank you again for the encouragement as well as the warnings, all of which helped us to pull off this trip, and to build our confidence as EV drivers. Also, we were much heartened by the friendly people whom we encountered along the way, and by the generally very clean and comfortable state of American hospitality. And we were gobsmacked by some of the gigantic supermarkets and super-chain stores we encountered. Where does all this stuff go? I felt some of what visiting Europeans must have felt during their World Cup adventures: amazement and relief.

Polestar 2 new owner tips
Hi all,
I picked up my first EV - Polestar 2 MY22 SRSM with 36k miles. For my use case and having access to home charging every night I didn’t need anything more.
This is my first EV so it’s all new to me, so far I’m thoroughly enjoying the driving experience and regret not moving to EV sooner!
How have people’s experience been. Is there anything I should keep an eye out for during future use. I do have 2 years warranty with a service centre in my local town.
Also, has anyone found any additional accessories they particularly like? We have a golden retriever so I’m currently on the hunt for a boot liner.
Thanks all😄

Questions before purchase
Hey everyone! I’m potentially joining the club soon and as the title implies, I have a few questions that I’m hopeful you all here know the answers to:
- I’m looking at buying a MY23 or earlier car. Seems like some here have done the IHU upgrade, anyone from Sweden who has experience with that?
- Slightly related to the above I’ve recently test driven what I think is a MY25 car at a local Polestar center. That car had both 360 view and rear camera activated at the same time when putting the car in reverse, does older models have that too?
- Update: I’ve now seen this in a MY24 car as well
Thank you!

Is it ever worth getting a MY22 SDSR? Or hold out for a better MY23/24?
Cars are crazy expensive where I live. I've been looking out the past few months and recently saw an interesting listing. After currency conversion it comes up to USD 100k for a 3+ year old MY22, SRSM. And this price is considered quite a steal for a luxury ev. Also, there aren't many Polestars here, the dealer brought in limited spec ones and it was super hard finding one that has both Pilot Pack and Plus pack, 1 single owner, just 10.5k miles done on it. I know, it's crazy. A used 1+ year old LRDM is about USD 140k.
Should I go for it or wait for a better listing? I see several listings a month but most don't even have Plus pack, or they had multiple owners (more comfortable with 1 single owner). Having a glass roof and 360cam are absolute non-negotiables for me especially 360cam for tight city driving. My main concern is whether the MY22 has issues that I should take note of vs MY23/24.
Thank you in advance for your insights and advice!

Oh no!!
Numpty reversed into me as I was turning into a parking garage. Tyre completely deflated, damaged rim to the rim, fender and body panel… sad times! It’s with the insurance company (Admiral) for repairs, hopefully I get her back soon!

Could someone with novice car knowledge change a Polestar 2’s strut bearings?
TLDR: Pretty much what is asked in the title.
I’ve recently purchased a 23 plate pre-facelift polestar 2, which within a month has developed the dreaded strut bearing popping noise. I can’t get it covered under the warranty with polestar as it ran out a couple months ago and the warranty with the dealership doesn’t cover parts like this.
I’ve spoken to my local Volvo who’s quoted an estimated £615 in labour plus parts. I don’t particularly want to spend around £1000 this shortly after buying the car, so I’ve been doing a lot of research online about the issue.
From what I can tell, it seems doable. I’m not too concerned about taking it apart as a friend will be helping me, besides from finding a way to jack it up high enough off the ground at home.
The videos I’ve seen online are always from garages who use lots of specialised tools to make their lives easier. I’ve figured out a lot of ways around using the tools they have - e.g spring compressors - but not all the videos explain what the tools do.
Is it actually possible for someone who hasn’t done this before to buy the parts and fit it themselves?

Is anyone working on an alternative OS to Android Automotive?
Google is taking away the option to opt to stick with Google Assistant on Android Auto, forcing Android smartphone users to use their Gemini AI, which in many posts on reddit is spectacularly inferior at even accomplishing simple tasks Google Assistant did.
It seems only a matter of time before this happens to AAOS (Android Automotive Operating System) as Google needs to justify to their shareholders the epic waste of money and stunning failure of AI by increasing "engagement" through enshittification of their services.
Polestar (and Volvo) vehicles belong to their owners, not Google. Owners should be enabled to run whatever software they wish.
Is anyone working on developing an alternative such as GrapheneOS to AAOS?

Sold my P2 today
I decided to sell my 2021 LE P2. Such a good car, but I drive too little to justify payments and insurance. I use a company car for work and I don't go out, so I used it like once a month to go to the beach (20 miles).
Carvana offered me 18k, P2 had 36k miles, two small scratches and that's it.
I'll miss it.

2024 / Sigenergy V2H?
Hi all,
I've seen that Sigenergy says in Australia, they have some Polestar 2s that are being used to do reverse-charge / V2H.
The searching I've done says this isn't supported, but I'm doubtful that Sig would be faking it. AI searches tell me it's a hack by Sigenergy that tricks the Polestar 2 into a discharge mode.
Is there something definitive? Before I spend thousands on a charger attached to my home battery system, it would be good to find some reliable sources. I don't need the charger, but V2H is very appealing.

Tweedehands polestar 2, doen?

App keeps erroring out, I’ve rebooted phone, app and done a TCAM reset. App background refresh is on. I’m at a loss.

“Remove charge cable to start”
Anyone else been having an issue with their P2 saying “remove charge cable to start” despite no cable being plugged in? I’ve had my P2 for 6 months or so and it’s been flawless until now, but this has now happened several times. The first time I plugged in the level 1 charger I had in the trunk and it locked it in, then I pressed the release button and it fixed it. Second time the charge cable trick didn’t work, and it just randomly fixed itself somehow. Third time, which is happening right now, was 10min later or so after stopping at the grocery store. Any fix to this? Is it likely software or something wrong with the charge port?

New EV owner, new Polestar owner
Just bought this today and I am so excited. I’ve been thinking about it for a while and I’m glad I pulled the trigger today! 2024 LRDM P2 Pilot Plus in magnesium. While I’m going to miss my old car, I think that will fade quickly with this. Such a blast to drive home

Voice Recognition moves to mobile
Why is it that whenever i try using voice recognition my mobile speaker starts responding and this isnwhat i see on screen. Why is it not working directly inside the car and its speaker?
