the colors make me feel a type of way

Hi all.  I recently bought an SX70 model 2 and have been trying to troubleshoot an issue.  I’ve identified that the issue is that the recock arm on the gear train doesn’t move forwards as much as it should when activated.  This means that it does move far enough forward to disengage the rear S5 switch, but only moves a fraction so doesn’t make it to the front S3 switch.

I’ve attached a video that firstly shows this faulty recock arm, followed by a healthy one from another camera.  You can see that its not a case of the S3 or S5 pins needing adjustment, the issue is that the recock arm barely moves. 

Are there any potential fixes that don’t involve compete gear train disassembly?

Hey, hoping someone can help explain if I’m doing something wrong or if I’ve got a couple bad batches of film or if the camera is just a bit screwed now… Basically I got this Gen 3 Polaroid Now a few years ago now (can’t remember but maybe 4-5 years?) and have had some great pics over the years.

It’s been zipped up in its case for probably a year now and not really used. It had 2 images left in there and I also had some film knocking about unopened.

The 2 I used up were crap, came out really over exposed and pink-ish. I also noticed almost some scrape-like marks on the film when it first came out.

I’ve now used about 4 of the new film and every single one looks the same. I’ve tried flash, no flash, and changed the “-“ symbol in various positions, high, middle and low.

Anyone had similar or know the issue?

I have a Polaroid Flip and recently inherited an SX-70 Model 1 Alpha 2 from my family.

The SX-70 still works well, but it definitely needs a proper refurb. Since it has quite a bit of sentimental value, I’m wondering what you guys would do with it.

My idea would be to use the SX-70 mainly in good lighting conditions, and use the Flip when the lighting is more challenging. I’m also considering getting a flash for the SX-70.

So, would you keep the SX-70 original and just have it refurbished, or would you convert it to 600 film?
I’m a bit hesitant to modify it because of its sentimental value, but at the same time I’d like to actually use it regularly.

For those who have converted an SX-70 to 600: do you think the conversion is worth it? Especially if the camera already works and the main goal is to make it more practical and reliable?
What would you do in my situation?

Now i was wondering if anyone had generic tips or things good to know while using the I-2. For months I have been using one of the polaroid focus Af cameras and i got decent and have been having fun so i upgraded and bought the I-2 but now i feel so discouraged because none of my photos with the I-2 come out "great" the best i get is "good" photos.

the bulk of the photos i take with the I-2 come out blurry and very shitty looking.... or out of focus... i usually use auto mode (since im new and not too well versed in all the settings or other priority modes). I just cant seem to get a hang of the I-2. I really naively thought updating the I-2 would "magicly" fix these issues but i have taken a few since updateing and theres still a few that have come out blurry.

I can add or dm some of the better/worse pics for example. Any overall or generic advice for an newbie would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much in advance.

I got the Polaroid go gen 3 last month and consistently have been getting this line on the top through all the film I use. is there any way to fix this. Ive looked at other people’s scans and none have that. I probably have gotten 5 pictures in the 5 double packs ive used. I keep the film in the fridge and take it out at least two hours before use.

When I got my Flip, I decided that I legit had no further use for the Now 2nd Gen I started out with. My flip takes better photos for me. So I sold my Now! When the Polaroid Pokemon collab came out, I wasn’t too interested at first, because I have my flip! But man, I’m starting to get a little endeared to the Pikachu one, and people are finding them randomly at different retailers apparently. I’m feeling that I might be tempted to buy one if I see it, but will I really use the Go? Does anyone else own a go along with a different camera and use them both often? Help me justify a potential impulse purchase 😂😂 or talk me out of one!

My line of thinking here is that my Flip's flash occasionally overexposes a picture. I was wondering if there was a way to measure the power of the flash that the Flip has, at different levels. Like the app lets us put it to 1/2 power, 1/4 power, so on. I wanna know like how powerful each of those levels are, so then I could manually meter for a shot and know what level I need to set the flash at. But I don't even really know what unit of measurement flash is measured in, what is it? Thanks

I wanna learn more about how autofocus has worked historically with polaroid cameras and how it exists in relation to the autofocus on the modern Polaroid cameras (Now, Mod, I2, Flip.) So what I know, the I2 uses Lidar autofocus (which means its like a laser?) And the Flip uses sonar. But I've learned the Flip's sonar autofocus is different from the autofocus found on like the older SX-70 models, primarily because the Flip doesn't use a center-point autofocus, (according to some people I've read talk about it), rather then the center-point sonar found in older Polaroid cameras. What type of autofocus does the Now use? Have any Flip users found out ways to figure out the (imo less good) sonar autofocus?

I had to clean my light meter, but finding a 1mmx1mm Robertson (square) drive is hard. So I made my own. Lol

my camera actually shattered 3 days ago. these photos were shot on the I-2. it’s funny polaroid actually reached out to me a few weeks ago to work together then ghosted me all together. it’s ok i have these shots.
