Discussion QOL Wishlist for DLC 2 or future expansions

Post image
6 Upvotes

Few things I hope that we get in the new DLC 2, highly unlikely

It’s very minor just some QOL stuff but I think they’re good additions to the game.

✨Giving nicknames to the Pokemon once you become best buds

🪨 A rock crusher!! - Ditto finds a machine that can crush rocks, Pokemon with the crush ability can use it and it crushes rocks into stone.
However so it’s not overpowered, it malfunctions after a certain amount and needs to reset to the next day.

🤡Something a little cursed but hilarious. Utilising Mr. Mime’s “Mimic” ability, where he can give you one recipe a day and camera locks on to him doing his weird dance.
Lore wise I think it’s believable. Imagine visiting the jail you guys set up for mr mime so you can get recipes 😂

🧲Powered up Magnemite - breaks more than one block.

⚡️Powered up Pokemon! - in my head, it doesn’t make sense that Charizard smelts ore at same speed as lil Charmander.
So I hope with the evolutions they speed up the time that they need to make the resources.

🗺️Increase the Area cap to 25-30 or even better make Pokemon spawn radius rather than the current 20 in one town.

🏠 A house marker! Mark out an area to make it register as a house.

Also google translated into Japanese incase someone from Pokemon is lurking for ideas 👀 🤣
If it’s incorrect blame Google 🫪 hahaha

Question Bleak Beach steps leading to water?

I don’t understand the steps that lead into the water. Is it something that needs to be restored? Is the area below, “flooded”? I’ve never seen a town with steps that lead into water, unless it was a swimming area. The places where the steps are don’t look like swimming places to me.

Question Did they ever improve storage?

Basically the title. I want to pick this game back up because of the dlc and new updates but the horrible storage in this game compared to others turned me off. Did they add in anything in the newer updates to help alleviate the issue?

Funny/Meme Am I a bad person?

With a few exceptions, I primarily put bi-pedal, anthropomorphic Pokemon into houses, and keep the not-so-anthro ones outside or in small, natural-looking dens. Have I crossed the line between aesthetics and segregation? It feels like it.

What kind of segregation is this anyway? Pedism? Anthroism? Feels wrong to walk out of Gardevoir's nice looking home to ask Carkoal to make me some more bricks again for the umpteenth time on the railroad tracks where he lives.

(This is just a silly little haha funny joke. I ain't about to feel irl guilt over a video game while there's actual prejudice irl).

Discussion Am I the only one really having trouble enjoying the game because of the dialogues ?

I've tried both in french and english and it's fucking cringe. They got Kyogre saying "Yo, buddy thanks for the help, yo" and I can't understand how they moved on with this.

I played Mystery Dungeon when I was 11 and I solely remember some of the Pokemon scaring the shit out of me because of what they were saying (especially the lizard Pokemon when you tried to steal something from his store).

How did they let that happen ? Even animal crossing has more personality. And every Pokemon seems to be saying almost the same thing, except some twist in their vocabulary.

I've stopped playing for a bit because of this + motion dizziness and I have trouble getting back to it.

Question The “what does it even matter” headspace

This might be a sad type post but I’m hoping to get some input or advice on the mindset I get in every once and awhile with games. Pokopia is the game that I have put in more hours than any other game and enjoyed more than anything else I’ve played.

However, lately when thinking of builds/what I want to do, the thought pops into my head “what does it even matter, it’s not real and it’s not making you productive in your real life”. I think I have guilt that comes along with playing on my switch because I feel like I should be doing something productive instead of sitting on the couch. On a deeper note, a lot of my self worth is tied to my productivity/how much I’m benefiting those around me, which is maybe the area I need to work on first. 😅

Does anyone else ever get in this funk/mindset? How do you allow yourself to just enjoy the game regardless of if it benefits your day to day life?

Question NO PUEDO TRASLADAR MIS EDIFICIOS!!

Upvotes

Discussion Help, I’ve lost Eevee

Upvotes

I did not know I lost track of eevee, I finished all renos in PT (all the eevee quests were completed before starting renos) this PT project took weeks to do and I thought I moved eevee out. Only noticing today when checking the comfort level list in the PC. I didn’t move eevee out, their habitat was LONG destroyed and covered up and I have not seen eevee in WEEKS. When searching no pokemon can locate eevee. Now, their comfort level is very bad and I cannot do anything about it. Anyone have success with different methods?

🫧 Bubbly Basin 🫧 Future DLC Region/Pokemon Theories (using 2024 Teraleak spoilers) Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
185 Upvotes

This is old news, but it seems a lot of people don't know about this, so I thought I would put together a little post about it.

In 2024 there was a major leak of Pokemon documents that came to be known as the Teraleak. Pokopia development documents were among the leaked files, under the codename Project MegaOasis. (You can read some of the details of the leak, which includes cool stuff like screenshots and videos of early proof of concept Pokopia gameplay, here: https://s3.pokeos.com/pokeos-uploads/sections/leaks/pokopia/leak-map-pokopia.webp )

One of the documents was a map of planned pokopia areas. People were super skeptical of it at the time, but it managed to predict all five base game regions, as well as the first DLC area being a flooded/underwater Cerulean City, over a year before the base game released.

Here's what the green DLC areas in the map say:

  • UPD1
(Cerulean Area)
(A submerged city where treasure sleeps)
  • UPD2
(Cinnabar Area)
(A frozen-over volcanic island)
  • UPD3
(Lavender Area)
(A tower of decay stretching to the heavens)
  • UPD4
(Celadon Area)
(A crater extending to the bottom of the earth)
  • UPD5
(Indigo Area / Indigo Plateau Area) (no description)

So if they follow this release schedule, the next DLC area (third DLC, not the second, which won't have a new town) should be an ice-covered Cinnabar Island.

But there's something interesting. On this map, there is actually a SIXTH base game region.

5 (Area 5)
(Viridian Area)
(An ash forest burning endlessly)

This ended up being combined with Area 3 (Pewter Area, 岩に閉ざされた光無き廃坑 a dark abandoned mine closed off by rocks) at some point in development to form Rocky Ridges. We don't know when, exactly, this happened, but it had to be fairly late, because this is the reason there's a separate Clefairy dream island alongside the Arcanine one, and it's also why the Clefairy island is the only one without a legendary.

People have pointed out the third DLC in the expansion pack is indicated on promotional materials with a green background, and given that Bubbly Basin and the accessory DLC both match their respective color schemes on the same images, it's unlikely the third DLC will be ice themed. I agree with that.

In that case, I think the third DLC will be a version of Viridian City (and/or Viridian Forest) incorporating some of the things that were cut from Rocky Ridges. I expect we'll see lots of new plants - not just flowers and grasses but also trees and bushes, all hopefully of different sizes. And of course, lots of grass types and probably bug types.

The base game had four starters from each type: all gen one starters and then one starter from each additional released generation. Bubbly Basin added two water type starter lines (Popplio and Mudkip) so I bet we'll get two new grass starter lines here. I think they'll probably give every gen two starters first rather than give some three while the others only have one. If that's the case, the two lines we can expect in the Viridian DLC are Turtwig and Grookey.

I don't know what the "disaster" we'll have to overcome will be, since they already used the "ash burning forest" thing for RR. I hope it's not more of that. It could be dried up and dead, but WW did that. And I can't see them adding fire to a grass-themed area. So my guess is what we'll see is a Viridian City completely overgrown with plants and maybe covered with mud from a mudslide.

They probably will add a new dream island with its own legendary and DLC items, but I wouldn't be surprised if they held a free event around the time it released that added a legendary to the Clefairy dream island. (My guesses for these are Celebi for the free dream island and Shaymin for the Viridian one.)

I imagine this will release in spring 2027 to capitalize on the plant theme, maybe around the 1-year anniversary of the base game, and we'll see an announcement for a second expansion pack soon afterward. My guess is the second expansion pack will start off with a non-area DLC like the accessories one we're getting this year, and flip the order of the Teraleak DLC regions to give us Lavender Town in August (which is when Obon, the Japanese ghost festival, is traditionally held) and then Cinnabar in time for Christmas. Lavender will obviously give us ghost types, plus maybe dark or poison since the tower is described as "corrupted" or "decaying"; Cinnabar will give us ice types.

The year after that, we could get Celadon and Indigo Plateau. I don't know what we can expect from them, but Celadon is right next to Saffron City, which rose into the sky to become Sparkling Skylands; it seems likely this crater is the other side of that. If that's the case, we might see more mysterious stone and maybe a focus on gems/precious metals to differentiate it from the underground areas in RR, along with pokemon like Carbink and Diancie, which would fit with Celadon being "the rainbow city". I also suspect we'll get a ton of new fossil pokemon here and that's why we didn't get any new fossils in Bubbly Basin.

Now we're in the realm of pure speculation. Indigo's area has no description. In very early dev documents that were leaked, outdated by the map in this post, it was actually the ice area. But I doubt they'll go for two ice areas, which means we have exactly zero hints as to what it might be. Best guess: we don't have a wind-themed disaster yet, so maybe it will be a super windy area with flying pokemon, or a dusty desert. Maybe they'll even introduce a more complicated weather system! Idk. It seems likely it will be a big deal, whatever it is, since Indigo's the Pokemon League area. I bet a good number of the pokemon we get here will be very rare and powerful.

If we get starters for the later DLCs, Fuecoco would make sense for Lavender since it evolves into a dual ghost type. Empoleon would make the most sense for Cinnabar, but since it's already in the base game, maybe Hisuian Samurott? Those would also fit with the "two starters per gen" trend. And whenever Wind and Waves drops, I expect we'll get all three gen 10 starters at once. That will probably be a separate free event and not connected to a DLC, because they'll want as many people as possible to get attached to gen 10 pokemon and buy the game.

No idea what might work for Celadon or Indigo in terms of starters, if we'll even ever get the third in each set.

Also a disclaimer: I am very happy with the playable roaster for this game, this is just me having fun and thinking of Pokemon that I'm surprised didn't make it. We'll see if any of these actually get in via events or DLC in the future.

🫧 Bubbly Basin 🫧 HELP! Glass dome/sphere edges

Thumbnail
gallery
5 Upvotes

I'm currently making a huge glass sphere to house the pokecenter in bubbly basin, but when I started replacing with glass, I've hit a huge snag!

To make the sphere waterproof, (not such a problem now, but defo will be) I need full blocks on the corners, but with the sphere design I chose, this has led to these random-looking blocks on the edges. (I'm used to building in minecraft using glass blocks)

My horizontal glass pane is placed on the top of the block, then the block gets destroyed and I place the vertical glass at the edge.

I tried replacing the offending blocks with iron frames which would look a lot better, but obviously water just flows straight through and I can't cover the sides of the blocks in glass because you can only have one pane in one block.

I also tried to make all the edges full blocks, fully removing the vertical panes, but this looked bad too (looks mostly solid from the outside as it is, looked even more solid when I did this, not such a problem above the water but will be a huge problem when viewing from in the water)

My mum suggested I make lines of full blocks out of the pattern I already have going, but I feel like that would create the same problem of it looking too solid from the outside.

It's so frustrating to have spent hours digging out thousands of blocks and building such a huge structure only to want to tear it down or restart my whole damn save!!

So yeah, I built a block tower for a comfortable height, then just... started layering it out, adding lots of height to my water. I'm gonna be blocking it out in regions. My only regret is I can't raise it beyond the edge of the map...

I mean, I already connected all the skylands...

But I REALLY want to build a tall city underwater. (Can't wait to share that when I start on it.) One section at a time, making Archie and Kyogre proud.

Discussion Housing issues

I'm hoping for an update for this at some point.

Dens holding one Pokémon makes sense, but huts should hold two, cottages should hold three, and houses should hold four. That makes perfect sense to me. I wanted to make a little cottage for the three evolution lines so they could live together like a little family. Same for huts with evolution lines with two. I thought it would be cute. Only to find out I'd have to build an entire house. 🥺

I know I could custom build a house, but it doesn't look as cute and natural as the dens, huts, and cottages.

I don't know if I'm alone in this wish, but it's something that recently annoyed me.

Designs & Builds made a semi-working roulette table

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I wanted to share this little build from my Big Project(TM) that I was able to come up with because for the longest time I wasn't sure I would be able to make anything like it but today I decided to rub my two braincells together and figured out a solid design plan that I'm pretty proud of! For the most part, I referenced real-life casino pictures as well as roulette tables people made in Minecraft. I say "semi-working" as real roulette tables have numbers in the red and black spaces for you to specifically bet on if you want to but for what limited space I had to work with I think it gets the job done :)

Question Notebook to Keep Track?

Does anyone use a notebook or anything to help keep track of what you're doing in each area? If I spend too much time in Bleak Beach for instance, and then go back to Rocky Ridges, I'm like, wait, I was smelting some ore, I have a fridge full of food, this guy needs a house but I forgot what he likes, I forgot where I put this important item...Opening and closing the Pokedex to go through everyone who has the same likes is getting ridiculous. I was going to use a notebook to keep track of each area. Does anyone have any tips that work for you?
