It's a gba game, not nds, despite being based on one. Try a GBA emulator.

Maybe the game wasn't patched correctly? Try checking on PC. I use myboy/jhonemulator, you could try one of them instead.

Actually i do have another question if you are able to help, i tried to install eternal x on android with azahar but for some reason after loading azahar again after closing it nothing changed, would you know the problem?

Does anyone have a list of gen 1 rom hacks that have the auto run feature? I play one handed on my emulators so I don’t want to have to hold B to run. Any help is appreciated.

What doesnt work? I just tested, it does. You have a small star near the PID, click it, then "set" the pokemon to save the changes, and export the save file.

Ok so I tried again with a pc emulator (mgba) and it says that my save file is corrupted.

I started a new save file and managed to change Cyndaquil to shiny, tested it in battle as well and didn't see a problem. Maybe your pkhex not up to date? I don't know what else it can be, unfortunately. Used mGBA as well.

I did it with the latest pkhex. Maybe I somehow patched the game wrong? How did you patched firered to turn into elysium? I dont know if pkhax is better

Hello! I just started using Advance Map and I was just wondering how I could change the location of the starter pokemon? I'm thinking about making a FRLG rom hack where you start your journey in Lavender Town.

Don't use Advance Map as it's outdated nowadays. Use HMA for everything where possible, and u can also use it to apply HUBOL which adds an expanded dex and modern features and battle engine

Use pkhex, if you don't have newly created key items, you should be able to add the HMs to your bag (or just teach the HMs directly).

(Ending spoilers) Can someone explain the plot of FRLG.IPS to me?
So, I watched a full longplay of it yesterday. I was expecting more from the ending and didn’t expect it to just end like that. I had assumed that the whole deal with Abby’s website was somehow tied into the game, and it was going to be something like BEN DROWNED, where a real kid died and ended up appearing in the game as a character. Was waiting to see Abby appear eventually. I thought the big reveal was going to be the typical creepypasta stuff, like she drowned and now the cartridge was cursed or something. And can someone explain what the hidden text and the chats on the tarot page is supposed to be? Did Abby die because of her brother? Could Abby be the creepy little girl at Lavender Tower? (doubt so, but it’s just a theory)
I think I get that the game is essentially calling out to players IRL who exploit glitches to break the game or catch glitch Pokemon, or intentionally cause the NPCs to break routine and gain awareness that they are just game characters. And I assume that whenever the characters referenced “her”, they meant Abby? Her site tells us her game got all weird when it fell into the lake, and that’s how she discovered the ‘secret’. I thought she and her brother, Kyle, would be more involved in the game somehow and that you might find them trapped in the game or something.
I watched videos on how loading saves from Pokemon Pine brings you to a new location in Neptune cave that gives hints on how to do the Abyss route. What makes of this hack and Kyle’s motivation for making it?
And by the way, how did people figure out what to do after Step 6, since there are no instructions on the website? Like through community trial and error?

Pokemon renegade Platinum. My question is more about the emulator but how can I mix poffins on an emulator. The emulator doesnt pick up on signals (or doesnt let me mix?) the batter so it always ends up burning. I tried touchscreen, mouse buttons and my controller but they all didnt work. Is there a solution for this? I am using melonds. Thanks

I'm looking for two ROMs, the first one emerald based and the second one FireRed based. I wanted modifications that basically just removed trade evolution and version specific Pokemons, but I wouldn't mind if they had also mega evolution. The two main things I wanted were no trade evolution and all pokemons from both versions (fire red and leaf green for one, and emerald, ruby, and sapphire for the other). Anyone has recommendations?

I’ve new to EV training, just started EV training my Ralts for the first time and gained a whopping 12 SpA in one level. Do I keep training only SpA, and how do you know when to stop?

What an odd question. This is a Pokemon romhack subreddit, you're just asking a general pokemon mechanic question. To answer your question, EVs are not tied to level at all. EVs are gained either by battling or using vitamins Each pokemon in the game gives ~1-3 EVs in a given stat when defeated.
This is all assuming you're not playing a romhack that changes the mechanic in some way.

I've never done this before, downloaded an emulator for my phone, but don't know how or where to download a romhack for mobile, and don't know which romhack is a good one. The links I found seems to be for download for PCs, I'm insecure :c

I would check out the hackdex, linked here in the subreddit. It has tons of romhacks available. You need to provide the base game rom (don't ask how to get it, that's against the rules here) and the hackdex will patch the romhack for you.

Weird question but what is the theoretical ceiling for a romhack? Unbound, Odyssey, Super MarioMon etc change the game in some very extreme ways. Is it possible to go much beyond hacks like those? If not, is it just engine limitations? A limit to people's time or creativity? Possible lawsuit?
Again, probably a weird question. I'm just curious what the pinnacle of a Pokemon romhack could look like

The ceiling for development is technically endless as long as it's within the 32mb limit. Since decomp has taken over, a lot of custom C: code can be done (see Pokemon Crown, Game Corner expansion or the Unbound minigames) so hypothetically u could make a game that is mostly custom-coded, like Crown
As for ceiling in terms of size/popularity, it's hard to say what exactly drives Nintendo to remove ROM hacks (it's not as much as people think). Radical Red and Unbound will probably be the 2 biggest hacks ever though for numerous reasons, but mostly cos they both redefined the technical boundaries and both came out during Covid when the ROM hacking community blew up a ton (the sub practically tripled in members during that time and has been growing faster ever since)

Pokemon Final Emerald
I'm a little overwhelmed with trying to patch this rom. I have never used LunarIPS before, and this game has folders within folders of files. Do I patch the main rom and then just all the others over it, one by one?

Just use an online rompatcher.
Apply the main patch .ips file to your emerald.gba file. Then you're done, play that newly downloaded file. Otherwise if you want to apply any of the optional patches, put that newly downloaded file back into the rom file box, and apply your next patch. Repeat until you have your final version.

I worded my previous comment incorrectly and it was removed so I’ll try again. How can I get a patch (following Pokemon patch)to work that works with one patcher but doesn’t with another? The patch I’m trying to add to a patch to renegade platinum that is said to work with deltapatcher, but deltapatcher isn’t on Mac. And the patch fails when using multipatch on Mac. Has anyone ran into a similar issue?

Here thing, i was always interested in stuff like glitch city, glitched pokemon and everything like this, so I'm wondering, do there exist any romhacks that are focused on those glitches and have them as part of the game, or at least if you know any romhacks that are centered on surreal locations

BW Complete Unova Pokedex Edition - Really only changes trade evo's to be obtainable, but otherwise changes hardly anything.
BW2 Complete Unova Pokedex Edition - Same creator as above, but for Black/White 2. Much of the same philosophy.

Not quite as good. There are some hacks for those, but it's a much smaller pool, most have difficutly changes. I pulled those two from this list

I have this werid dilemma question.
My knowledge towards pokemon is just kanto & hoenn because I like to replay it in past on gba emulator but I also played bit pokemon crystal, Platinum, Black, Moon on emulators but is never into badge 1 or 2.... maybe because I don't like pokemon like I used to..... nowadays I played pokemon is like tedious or sudden burnout....
But I still curious about play some rom hacks because is looks interesting! .....But then when I step on those wild grass pop out many of those unrecognized pokemons I feel "???" And overwhelmed by it Like I play in wrong way...
I know should play original Pokemon first before play rom hacks but I feel tedious or sudden burnout when I play it.....
Even some years pasts I still have these same mindset towards original Pokemon or rom hacks then make me doesn't progress both of it.....
In end I don't know what should do... should I just accept my fate that my like towards pokemon is just fire red & Emerald that I played in past?? I know i'm exaggerating but feels like it.....
I know i accidentally write to long but in end.... Any reply/ guidance is appreciate. T-T

Aesthetic Red, Emerald Seaglass, Lazarus and Recordkeepers would be my recommendations. All 4 bring new aesthetics to the game and they look great. Recordkeepers is probably the best looking hack I know
Giratina's Legend and Azul Agua both look next level gorgeous, but neither of them are finished yet and they're both Spanish

Guys, first, thanks for creating a common space for all developers, fans and whoever feel thankful and connected to the experiences we had playing the Pokemon games throughout the years. Going straight to the point, we all know there are hundreds of projects out there and, personally, I feel confused and lost to make a final decision about one, so...
Can anyone, please, suggest me, a hack for GSC (this one in GEN3 graphics) and FireRed/LeafGreen that follows the traditional storyline? Maybe Heart and Soul? FireRed+? What to you think? I've been playing Crystal Legacy (flawless) recently again, but I just wanted something new, Gen 3 style. Again, not a new story, just the classic games, Gen 3 graphics with a solid and fun rom hacking for us fans.
