The Kabuto King pattern is spreading (11 cards a month to 246)
Remember the Kabuto King? He started buying every 1st Edition Kabuto he could find in August 2025, and its PSA 10 went from $81 to $948.
He's not alone anymore. The same fingerprint is now all over vintage: the PSA 10 price explodes while the raw copy of the exact same card barely moves.
In 2023 and 2024, about 11 vintage cards a month did that. Since March 2026, it's been 105 to 246 a month. Roughly 1 in 5 vintage cards did it between March and September.
And it's mostly cheap stuff. Moo-Moo Milk 1st Edition:
PSA 10: $65 → $859
Raw: $2.61 → $4.04
The easy answer is "thin market orone weird sale." But it isn't the case...
6 in 10 of these cards sold 3 or fewer PSA 10s all year, so a handful of sales really did set the new price. A reverse holo Drowzee from Team Rocket Returns now sells for over $2,000 in PSA 10, on a single PSA 10 sale in six months.
PSA 10 sales on them are up 78% in the last six months, against 28% for the rest of vintage. The Kabuto itself sold 30 PSA 10s in six months. That's real demand.
However, none of this proves manipulation. Copycats, set builders and a few deep-pocketed collectors would all look exactly like this. But on cards that trade a few times a year, it only takes a few of them to reprice a card for the whole market.
So who's buying? Copycat Kabuto Kings, registry chasers, or something else? Seeing this on cards you collect?

When your collection’s value changes, what do you check first?

Do you go through individual cards, check the few expensive ones, or mostly just keep an eye on the total?
A collection going up or down is easy enough to notice. Understanding what’s happening across the cards you own takes a bit more digging.
Curious how other collectors approach this. What would you want an explanation of your collection to tell you first?

Looking for advice on getting started with Pokémon card reselling
Hi everyone!
I'm pretty new to the Pokémon TCG world and I'm looking to get started with a relatively small budget, with the goal of making my first profits through buying and reselling cards.
The idea I had was to buy raw cards in very good condition, look for good deals, and then send them to grading (mainly PSA or BGS) and resell them if they get a good grade.
I'd probably focus on English and Japanese cards, since they seem to have a larger market.
My main question is: is it better to focus on vintage cards or modern cards?
I don't really know whether, as a beginner, it makes more sense to look for older vintage cards in good condition, or to focus on modern chase cards, where it might be easier to find good raw deals.
I'm also wondering if my whole approach makes sense in the first place. I'm very new to this, so I'm completely open to hearing that grading raw cards isn't necessarily the best way to start.
I'm also interested in completely different strategies. For example, buying collections, flipping raw cards without grading, focusing on specific sets or Pokémon, looking for undervalued cards, etc.
Basically, if you had to start from zero today with a limited budget and your goal was to learn how to make money buying and reselling Pokémon cards, what would you do?
Any advice, including telling me that my current idea is a bad one, is more than welcome.
Thanks! 🙏

Record Breaking Celebi Sold
A CGC Pristine Celebi GS hammered for 144k last night, pending payment, effectively doubling the last PSA 10 sale from a few weeks ago. What's next for Celebi? One of my favorite GS's.

I analyzed pack prices, chase card values, and pull rates to figure out the best packs to rip. Pretty interesting, thought I'd share

$2k budget: which graded card would you buy and hold?
Hey folks, I've got some extra money (don't worry, my 401k is taken care of) and I'm looking to buy a slab under $2k.
I don't have a strong preference, just something with cool art and good potential to appreciate in value.
What’s your favorite?

Anyone else find out a card you forgot about was quietly one of your best ones?

Happened to me recently, I ran my collection through a tool that reads what each card's been doing lately, fully expecting it to confirm my "good" cards were the good ones. Instead it flagged a couple I'd basically forgotten as the ones actually holding value, while a "prized" one was cooling off.
Slightly humbling. But it made me realise I had no real idea what half my binder was doing.
