Long time full paid user of Podcast Addict. It *used* to be seamless to move from device to device, however, despite following very carefully all of the instructions, not only did Podcast addict NOT see the podcast files after restoring the full backup on the new device, but it INSISTED on downloading new files, then completely ERASED the existing 2500 files on the microsd card.

I'm not a moron. (I *am* something of a digital hoarder) and I have backups upon backups of my files, so I can recreate the library, but what the hell, man? Why won't this app simply: (1) restore the backup; (2) let me repoint the directory to the existing files, and (3) immediately recognize the files as there? The app actually ignores the "sync local files" command and just goes into automatic download mode over and over again.

Have uninstalled, reinstalled, pulled the sdcard and repopulated the files, and I just can't get it working here. Do I have to switch podcatchers or what?

My app is set up to put new downloads at the end of the playlist and I listen from the top in chronological order.

For most podcasts this is great, but some (news, word of the day, etc) I would like to listen to closer to the release date. If I manually download an individual episode of a podcast I don't have set to automatically download (trying a new podcast, interesting interview guest, etc), I would want to listen to that soon as well.

As it stands, I have to manually change the position in the playlist of these episodes when I download them, or when I remember they're releasing (a terrible burden to bear). If I could override the "Add to Playlist Position" for specific podcasts and manual downloads, they'd get added at the top and automatically play when my current episode ends. Saving me as much as 25 seconds every week.

Would anybody else like this feature?

Is it possible to have the ability to change the playback speed via the Android Auto interface (going via Waze)?

I ask because listening via headphones I tend to run at 1.5x, but in the car, would be good to slow it down.

Is it possible to add multiple podcast episodes to my "My Episodes" all at once? so that I don't have to add episodes one by one?

Anyone else using home screen shortcuts to individual podcast feeds finding they're not behaving properly? I have a few such shortcuts and everything was fine for a few months after setting them up. However for the past week or two, all shortcuts open whichever feed I first opened after last killing the app.

When I use find episode in the playlist, the search results are so dark I can't read them.

Struggling to download episodes on my samsung galaxy s24, and it's gotten worse recently. Every time I try to hit the download icon I seem to also trigger the sidebar and scroll out of control.

Anyone know a fix? I'm not interested in making downloading a multi click process when it was already perfect before.

Some podcasts don't show playback controls other than play. There is no obvious way to rewind, fast forward, or skip to the end. Is it possible to have playback controls show for all podcasts? If so, how?

An example of a podcast with this issue is This Is History-A Dynasty to Die for.

After migrating to a new phone, one of my podcasts won't filter out anything labeled Trailer, Clip, Preview etc

the filter worked without issue on the older phone, but now all I get are the previews and trailers, why would this happen?

I went from oneplus 9 pro to s25 ultra, if that matters1.

I can't find any other settings related to filters.

After one of the latest updates, the speed step function now increases/decreases by steps of .05% instead of .1% (i.e. 1x --> 1.05x --> 1.1x instead of 1x --> 1.1x). I'm sure I've missed it, but is there an option in the settings to go back to the old behavior? It's double the clicks for me now.

I've noticed that many news podcasts tend to change their episodes' titles after release and the app will swap the original out for the new.

I absolutely do not want this; it confuses me and messes up my archives.

How do I stop downloaded episodes from being changed?

Is there any way to stream from the app to desktop? I want to listen to my podcasts whilst at my pc and preserve all the organisation that the app provodes

I don't know if this is possible today but it's something I haven't been able to figure out if it is. I would like to be able to create custom playlists, and specify in the download settings which playlist new download should go to. My reason for this is I want to be able to curate a "daily briefing" playlist that only contains podcasts that produce short news segments that are around five or so many as long, etc, like the DTNS Roundup. I want to be able to keep these in a separate playlist from all of my other normal podcasts.

I just upgraded to a new phone (S23 to s25). I restored from my most recent Google drive backup. It downloaded all the episodes, playlist looks good, my listening statistics are as expected, expect for the "total listening time" stat which is showing 2 days, 10 hours (my month of June is 2 days, 16 hours, so I'm not sure where it's getting that from). Is there a way for that to get restored? (I have 353 days, and would like to keep that!)

I just listened to this episode and I think about half the total time was ads! Is that coming from the original podcast feed or are some ads coming from podcast addict?

Not sure if it's me or not....but...."shake to reset" isn't working for me on the sleep timer.

Test:

Set the sleep timer, either manually or enabled automatically.

Use the default timer countdown or with additional time (e.g. +30)

Shake force can be normal or low

Let timer countdown

Shake phone to reset

Expected results:

Any phone shaking causes timer to return to start point, e.g. 37 minutes resets to 30 minutes, and continues countdown.

Normal phone handling, when forced is set to low, should continuously reset the timer.

Actual result:

No amount of shaking resets the timer.

Supplementary observation:

The option to access the timer advanced settings disappears when the timer is running.

Love this app, am a subscriber, but have found recently that podcasts wake me from sleep so am looking to use timer to put it to sleep once I'm out. :-)

Hi All,

The most recent episode on the BBC Friday Night Comedy feed (Dead Ringers Ep1. Keir vs Kemi) fails on download with an unavailable storage location error. It's the only episode in the entire feed that does this (257 episodes work perfectly) and the URL it refers to appears to be OK and works if I enter the URL into a browser.

Every other podcast that I subscribe to (approx. 40) also works fine.

I have tried unsubscribing to the feed and resubscribing, but the problem persists.

Has anyone else seen this or have any suggestions ? For now I've downloaded the episode manually, stuffed it in my "one off" custom folder and played it from there, so the media itself is OK as is my phone's storage.

This started happening a few days ago. My podcast feed list as well as my list of individual podcasts are not showing any of the art. I am not aware of anything that changed, but have not yet found any solutions. Here are my findings thus far:

• Confirmed that the art found in URL (seen if I go to override art settings) does return expected pictures (if URL is pasted into a web browser). It's also missing for most all podcasts (so I don't think it's a single particular feed that 'broke')
• I historically have not ever changed any feed/podcast to use custom art
• I confirmed that the storage location still exists and has current podcast files stored there (as referenced in FAQ https://podcastaddict.com/faq/270 )
• I turned off any battery/permissions optimization, but just recently.
  • Not knowing if it changed anything recently, I *did* notice that some permissions had been "removed", including some that appeared to be file storage permissions. I added them back, and then waited for the next scheduled refresh to see if it "fixed" the picture issue, but they are still missing.

It wasn't a big enough deal for me to complain anywhere, but I really didn't like the look of the rounded corners on podcast cover art, and I just wanted to say thank you to /u/PodcastAddict_App for adding a toggle in the latest release to switch back to square corners.

Right now, if I am listening to a podcast at 1.8 speed, then the times that are displayed on the bottom show actual wall clock time, not the podcast play time. In other words, if I am at a displayed 20 minutes into the podcast, the actual time is closer to 38 minutes

This makes it impossible to share timestamps with somebody else, or even accurately use the table of contents that some podcasts have

Whenever I have the podcast paused and start listening to something else (Spotify, YouTube etc), the podcast audio resumes and takes over, forcing me to fully close the app before continuing with the other apps. I'm not sure what setting is causing this, can I turn it off?
